An Afghan, upon landing at Colombo Airport, declares himself as the Ex-Minister of Ports & Shipping of Afghanistan.
The Immigration Officer was puzzled and asked : “But there is no sea in Afghanistan. How can you be the ex- Minister of Ports & Shipping?”
The Afghan replied: “Oye Haramzaade ke aulad, don’t you have a Minister for Law & Justice in Sri Lanka?”

We don’t have a Cabinet in reality. It is there only for PR reasons. And to satisfy egos of UPFA politicians.
So called “ministers” run around the country in petrol guzzling expensive vehicles. With bodyguards and secretaries who happen to be their own wives or kids.
In reality all decisions down to the detail are taken by the Rajapassa clan. Nobdy else. Siblings and their kids are the real Cabinet.

Why only Sri Lanka matters. Where was the law when Obama invaded Pakistan to kill unarmed family of BL including women, when John Major invaded Iraq on false accusations kiling 100s of thousands of innocent civilions. When france destroying Libiya, when unmanned drawns killing Afgan civilians ……………

so you admit that there is lawlessness in sri lanka, then?
ladies and gents, here is a man, when confronted with a neighbour yelling to him, “there’s a man attacking your kids!”, yells back, “why are you shouting? did you shout when he attacked the lamp post down the road? go away!”
aisey costa, you are either too stupid for words, or a brilliant troll…

I said the same joke applies to all the countries in the world as the western law and the democracy practiced in the almost entire world is made to save wrong doers and highly inefficient. Thanks for reminding this fact.

I am a lanken living in Europe – this was the question I raised many a time looking at the manner issues escalated in SL for the last few years. All went out as if we did not have a minister of justice. He did not even open his mouth, when it was him to address -
at the time, no rule of law cases were started – nothing came from this person, though peole louded that he is a very decent and able person.
Correct to say that we dont have ministries in SL, it is like Mahadanamutta and golayo, but golayos have no power or backbone to take decisions by their own. Not even they are capable of making suggestions if AMDs fail to the prevailing law regulations in the country.
Let alone, at the time, Rizana beheading, irrespective of the fact that the responsible minister was repeatedly telling all untruth about what the GOVT and the authorties performed since 2005 to get her released -this man as the minster of justice- as a muslim fellow did not utter a word.. That is his part as I got it

Why not we have a Law faculty profssor GLP as the minister of external affairs.
And we have also minister of higher education (filthy mouthed and thuggery exemplary only having the gene to behave in his own way so long MR allows to do so) – although all kind of ill practices were reported not once but on a consecutive manner as no time in the history.

Does any minister know what is happening? Does any minister understand what he is supposed to do? Do the ministers have the leeway to do what they have to? The ministers have only the option of doing nothing or carrying out to the letter the orders from above, I pity our ministers and pity more their inability to vacate their chairs. Obviously, the chairs have been made comfortable enough to salve any pangs of conscience or self respect left.

Best example take from the minister of foreign employement.
He himself has stated that Rizzan will be released soon – even on the hour she was beheaded by them. This is a true story – uneducated minister had behaved even after repeating that he did all what he and the govt could do – all the facts are far from his explanations. All what they the ministers did was went on tours to MIDDLE EAST by tax payers funds – AND just spent the vacation instead of doing ther duties to have the poor girl released. None of the ministers have raised questions yet – a lawyer or translator were provided on behalf of the poor girl – as SA Authorities had advised to do so. These are facts.
Even today, under the lead of MR, this particular minister is still active – also as just henchman. That is the sad reality of the cabinet of MR.

I wonder if he can maintain law and order in his own home, before maintaining law and order in the country. He is like a monkey who jumps from branch to branch and when a piece of bread is offered he will jump on to the shoulder of the person who is offering it. He has betrayed Muslims in the country for his own benefits and the crumbs that falls from the Presidents hands.

WE HAVE A PRESIDENT TOO. ONLY BECUASE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY TO ROB THE COUNTRY.
GIORA - February 21, 2013
12:53 pm
To recorret this:
He has been doing it for the last 7 years. At the time we had problems that buddhist monks are murdered, women in general are attacked, kids and teeni girls get missing for rapes, has the president uttered a word about all these ?
His rhetorics are on one side, whereas the duties are ALWAYS on the other side. What happened to Mervin and his calamities in terms of the murder in Waragoda ?
Now with Duminda De silva return to lanka – what happened to the investigation ? Poor family lost their father, beloved husband ?
Surawimala - February 21, 2013
4:57 pm
And some misguided eminent person wants his [MR's]
wife SR to be a leader and patron of a movement to
save the victims of rape, murder etc.!
Will she do anything to upset her husband’s agenda
and sons’ future?
So other husbands ,sons, wives, daughters
mothers and fathers do not count to president or to his
lady. We have to wait for divine justice.

This [Edited out] minister is nothing but a “pambaya” in a “hena”. Disgraceful and he should be arrested and tried for abdicating his responsibilties to a cheating president, and yet taking his salary and privileges given to him at the tax payers expense. Sri Lankan kingdom and its rulers are the worst that I have ever come across. Virtual lawyer setting legislation, sub-liuetenants deciding strategic policies of the navy, school leavers setting up the school of Sri Lankan astronaut hopefuls, what a joke is this state.

I refer to the comments by both Dr Narendran and Ayman on the late and popular Sir Razik Fareed.
The UNP Govt of 1965-1970 was obliterated by Mrs B’s Coalition of 1970 that came on the false promise of “Rice from the Moon.” Dudley and JRJ
were having their differences of opinion at that time that threatened to divide the GoP. There was speculation JRJ may join Mrs. B. Our Muslim friends called a meeting at the MICH, Bristol Bldg – next to the Colombo YMCA in the Fort – to hear what JRJ had to say in that matter that was of great interest then. I was out of school for a few years bby then and was beginning my business career. I was fortunate one of the Organisers was a close friend – who invited me.
The pleasant Sir Razik introduced JRJ and – in lighter vein, said while others, including the UNP, talk of him jumping from one Party to another, their Distinguished Guest Speaker that day – JRJ – was widely expected to do a jump on his own soon establishing political-jumps are not confined to one community. Naturally – to prolonged applause and friendly laughter in which JRJ too joined heartily. Sir Razik came to the meeting with his close friend and my own senior friend – the late Al Haj ARM Mukthar – millionaire businessman and Philanthropist.
