Assault On Army Major: Police Fail To Nab Minister Mervyn’s ‘Criminal’ Secretaries

By Colombo Telegraph

Police has failed to nab the main suspects of the  Major Chandana Pradeep assault case. Army Major was assaulted by Malaka Silva, Former Minister Mano Wijeratne’s stepson Rehan Wijeratne and five other persons at the Jaic Hilton car park at around 3.30 early morning last Sunday.

According to the detailed statement made by Major Chandana Pradeep, both of them were on duty when they had been assaulted by Malaka Silva and Rehan Wijeratne. Meanwhile main suspect Malaka Silva’s driver came on Sunday evening and handed over the pistol and the cell phone of the Major to Slave Island police.

Both main suspects are government servants. Malaka Silva is the private secretary to his father Minister  Mervyn Silva and the other main suspect Rehan Wijeratne is the Media secretary to the Minister  Mervyn Silva. Rehan Jayawickrema Wijeratne is the son of the present Sri Lanka Ambassador to Turkey Bharathi Wijeratne, the second wife of the late minister.

Meanwhile the Minister Mervyn Silva, his son Malaka and Hirunika Premachandra are seen paying homage to the sacred relics at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya this morning.

Lanka is a HUB for thugs and sex tourists.. forget about knowledge hubs!
How much tax rupees has been spent on so-called tourism promotion tamashas and shows like the useless Commonwelath talk shop now on in Colombo while delegates are escorted in huge security convoys with sirens that disturb the general public? All these shows have to be counted when assessing the real contribution of “tourism’ to the economy. Tourism madness of Basil has been used as an excuse cover to promote massive govt spending on tamashas and night clubs to entertain the likes of those in the above pictures and legitimize land grabbing.
The real benefits of tourism can be measured against numbers of tourists, divided by all the funds spent on shows like the useless Commonwealth Parliament meeting for which massive funds are spent by a massively debt ridden county on a talk shop of a British Colonial remnant (Commonwealth) used to boost the egos of post-colonial dictators like Rajapaskse today in a country where the parliamentary system has been completely undermined by a nepotistic dictator!

Perhaps, she just gets on with them only. This picture does not say anything.

Not only Hirunika, even if anyone else’s father mother or both parents got killed by rulers bulltes, you have no fair investigations against perpetrators – becasue they are close confidants of the top leadership.

Hirunika has led everyone up the garden path.. Her dad was killed by the likes of Malaka and Duminda.. and she’s now hanging out with them after grandstanding about clean politics!!

She is one power hungry little girl in search of a sugar daddy! GO Namal Rajapakse adopt this little girl and become her sugar daddy and good luck to you!

The prostitutes generally like drug dealers who make money in billions. They believe in one life and they want to have the best in that life. The many young women who became MPs recently and who dream to become parliamentarians have this craving and this trend is continuosly nurtured by Maa Hinda Chin Thane.

      Bharatha RIP

“This Hirunika is a crook, what she said about thuggery and drugs? Look at her friends?”

Whatever you say about her friends she is beautiful though.

I am concerned about the saffron clad baldy behind her.Is he reaching out to her?

She is not respected in Kolonnawa as people respected her father. It will not be a shock if seen her around Malaka’s arms.

Of course these drug-thugs are paid by the government. In return, government higher rankers are paid by these thugs. The Police or Army has no chance against these criminal elements unless a brave sniper will end the episode with a single bullet.

You are mistaken. They are not genuine tourists but a Ukrainien Prostitute with another drug addicted foreigner whom associated with our local criminals. For Malaka and Rehan nothing like Ukrain.

How can genuine tourists get on with those scums ? They should be cheap Ukraine tourists that have been imported to the abused by destroying the nation.

What I wish if we want to save the nation – authorities should consider execution – then all these sons of so called politcians would need to line up first before all others perpertrator are brought before.

What a TragyComedy Sri Lanka is. This is the new society and the new elite. Will the spineless Police arrest Maraka Silva, when they have not yet arrested that crook Sudharman Radaliyadde, where Courts have issued open warrents a number? Ohoma Yang, Ohoma Yang! Juck/Muck. This should be a slap on all those who support the present system living amongst us in society, our friends and relations. But see whether they have an ounce of Shame?

    • 0
      0

Fully wrong to name them as ELITE,
      Definition (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/elite

the richest, most powerful, best educated or best trained group in a society (the country’s educated elite, a member of the elite)

      Scum would fit better. :)

Under MR we are nearing to an Anarchial State ….

Enough is enough people must protest against these rulers.

      • 0
        0

Charith, I was only cynical in naming these as the Elite. Your given definition of Elite as the richest, most powerful, best Educated or best trained in a society also would not connote the Elite.

One need not be the most richest, as there are crooks and drug barrons who are the richest in societies today. Therefore a person of some means. Most powerful. Certainly not as the most powerful in society are the croocked politicians as MR. Instead most respectful, one who has earned the respect of society. Best educated. Again not as educational qualifications like for synthetic lawyers do not qualify. The educated who are wise and who are cultured with a family history with reputation, having fear and shame are the Elite in a society. Therefore none of these buggers qualify or come anywhere near the Elite of a country.

CBK was at the head of affairs for many years. Her daughter and son, children from the Manor as they unquestionably were (if you will grant some leeway to Vijay’s good but humbler background) could have easily frequented the 5-star night clubs and drug-joints when mamma was the Big Boss. We recall what CBK told a friend when asked visiting Temple Trees where her chldren were – in the background of the rowdy behaviour of the sons of SB and Mahinda Wijesekera found drunk and disorderly at dawn in 5 star night-clubs. The answer was “they are upstarirs – studying” We learn both children ended up with degrees in good Colleges in England. That, if you will forgive me, is breeding and the result of 7 generations of calibre.

There is an old Tamil saying about what the monkey does to the bouquet of flowers in its hand. I suppose the long and short of it is one cannot buy honour and integrity either with drugs, crime or stolen money.

This reminds me of the story in Sunday Leader some years back,
written by Lasantha, a respected journalist.

When Lasantha visited CBK & Vijay, he has told CBK that there were
romours that CBK did not have a Degree as claimed by her.
He sugested to her “why not dispell these romours by producing her Certificate to him so tahe he could pulish in his paper”.
CBK then went upstairs “to search for the certificates”.
However when she did not come down for a quite a long time, Vijay
was calling her to come down saying “why are you searching for something that does not exist”

This story tells about the honesty of Vijay Kumaratunge.

Ha Ha Ha. Look who is a friend of Kudu Mervin and son, it is none other than the weeping self Righteous daughter of Bharatha Premachandra who was Murdered by Duminda Silvas gang. WE had so much respect and Sympathy for Hirunika as she mourned the death of her father. She seems nothing but a moll that associates with thugs, drug dealers and the dregs of society.Sorry girl we have lost our confidence in you. She is paying her “tribute” to her late father with the help of Namal and Malaka. She may think that Malaka will use a bullet to end Duminda one day. But someone will do it to Malaka before he pulls the trigger.

There are masses – that keep telling that MR is not well informed. But I dont believe that he is not aware of all these.. As one who has been in politics for such a long time, how can he just let it go – that indifferent when it goes with crucial law and order enforcements issues.

Come on Srilankan, please don’t get carried away.

We need to seek why such things are so common in our society. If a person is a son or a daughter of a MP or a minister or for that matter related or even non-related but is known then such people think they are above the long arm of the law. The feeling is that they could just dish out whatever doose of the law of the jungle to all and sundry.

Lets get-together to change the attitude of these persons, do not be afraid to stand up against them

    • 0
      0

Well, from whom are u asking to get together ?

Nation (opponnents, interllectuals, senior politicians and many others) is sleeping today while the rulers are continuing their abusive activities.

Have they got any other options than start protesting against lack of enforcement of law and order, indicating the need of amendments to the prevailing laws to protect the rights within democractic norms.

By an opinion poll it will reveal nodouubt 90% of right thinking people of the country want SLGO to work on this – ASAP.

Can you imagine a British politician calling up an independent police force and telling them to brush under the carpet the arrest of Tony Blair’s son for being drunk or the arrest of thrrae home secretary Jsck Straws son for selling drugs? this happened in Britain when they were arrested.
The uneducated uncultured helping hambantota boys do not realize they are heading for disaster

      M C Meegama says:

“such people think they are above the long arm of the law.”

The arm is very short indeed.

Don’t blame the son or a daughter of a MP or a minister or related or unrelated but is known, but blame the very short armed bandits who benefit from obliging to these crooks.

      You say:

“The feeling is that they could just dish out whatever doose of the law of the jungle to all and sundry.”

      I am highly offended.

These thugs and their offspring thugs cannot be punished for their crimes because of their connections to powerful politicians. The only way to eliminate them is for a VIGILANTE movement to be created to deal with such thugs. The VIGILANTE movement can comprise of ex Military personnel who are trained to catch terrorists – which will make their task easier to catch these petty thugs who must be hiding under their parents’ sarongs by now. They must be hounded and exterminated from our society. They are a cancer in our society – and the peace loving Sri Lankan public cannot take their nonsense anymore. No one can go out to any of the nice hotspots in Colombo any more without fearing these thugs. They would pounce on anyone they think they can prey on. I have seen this Malaka fellow and his thugs trying to mess around with other peoples’ girlfriends or dates – or even wives – and very often ending in ugly confrontations. Its not only this Malaka fellow who imposes his thuggery at these night spots, there are a few other notorious thugs too who are surrounded by their so-called bodyguards, and deal in drugs peddling. Their main business is distribution of narcotics amongst patrons at these night spots. There have been several “turf wars” between these rival thugs for control of territory for their drug business. IMMEDIATE ACTION MUST BE TAKEN TO ERADICATE THESE MORONS. SINCE THE LEGAL SYSTEM IS IMPOTENT TO ACT AGAINST THESE THUGS BECAUSE OF THEIR POLITICAL CONNECTIONS, A STRONG AND RUTHLESS VIGILANTE MOVEMENT IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR. The Sri Lankan public will support any Vigilante movement that will take care of these thugs.

      is confident:

“The only way to eliminate them is for a VIGILANTE movement to be created to deal with such thugs.”

They will become law onto themselves meting out summary justice which would create local war lords.

      You say:

“They must be hounded and exterminated from our society. “

So what is the difference between hounded and the hounds?

You need law and order and not more of the same in different guises.

      Quiet agree.

All kalakanni (ignorant, timewaste) who are the marjority will continue votting so even if they would call an new election. Perhaps, people^s awareness is relatively low and that is the main reason for them to show this much of indifference.

or I believe concerns of majority folks not hearted. They just dontfocus on the alarming problems and giving their mandate to those who can wholeheartely work on the improvement.

Becoming more clear that the situation before nation today in the post war era is much more difficult to handle so long the rulers would not make new amendments to strengthen and make effective the prevailing laws as necessary. This kind of amendments are common to any country where they want to strenghthen their laws. I have seen these changes to the prevailing laws oft in Europe. New laws following thorough study should get passed with signifcant mandates in the parliament. Then authorities can implement them easily. This process is not seen happening in SL. No justice minister or any lawful authorities or bodies seem to pay due attention on this adequately even if crime investigations are clearly influenced by illegal interference of politicians today.

Really not clear, why cant the lawyers ( though many of lanken lawyers are reported to be not honest – that is what I heard recently) take a lead of the demonstrations – advocating the need of the hour -ENFORCEMENT OF LAW AND ORDER – they seem to stay so passive as injected mice for the lab experiments.

No political party in their normal senses will now invite HIRUNIKA to join them ‘cos with her coziness with high profile drug peddlers, she has now become a total liability. No supporter of her late fathery will now touch her even with a barge pole. She has taken everyone esp. those of Kolonnawa for along ride. She’s not only a liability but a total fraud and a hypocrite as well. With this snap shot alongside a known drug peddler, her political ambitions now lie in tatters!

The people in this country are too scared and way too laid back. They do not know that courage is contagious. They should liberate themselves from this oppression of the state opportunists. Anyways they do not owe anything to the country but their courage to stand up for crime and wrongdoings. At least learn from a fictional character like the following:

” People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.” – V

The Judiciary, the forces, the Attorney General’s Department, the leaders of the many religeons, the Professional Organisations and the NGO’s have not stepped up and issued a press release or reacted to it in anyway. That shows that those who must act are disinterested. So who should act now? The people? Who would give leadership to them? Are they scared to come forward? Even if they did come forward, if the above bodies do not take action, the problem is not solved. How about Vigilante groups? May be that is the only option, as taking a life is so easy and cheap. But will it be a short lived solution? As another Mervyn or Malaka will arrive in the scene. Who knows, it may serve as a deterrant if a vigilante group disciplines the miscreants.
