  1. I think there should be no more ‘new’departments, ministries, bodies etc. There is too much bureaucracy and overlapping functions in the first place. All this is a wasste of money. The national reconcilliation policy needs to be driven by the president from the top.

Just as he released the two students by uttering a sentence or two, he can do wonders if he really gets down to it. It seems there are too many advisers, stooges and thieves surrounding him.

    • I think President himself to be accountable for all the chaos. If he could go on a revenge against legitimately appointed CJ Dr. SB, just because her not full support in terms of divinasuma getting passed – President should be capable of shaping up his advisers and the so called thieves as you call them.
I personally believe, this man is not capable of making good decisions – number one example is to appoint MP as the successor to Dr. SB.

Second latest example – the speech that he held on the 65th independence ceremony of the country- trying to draw a wrong picture about sinhalese – jingoism among the minority folks. One time he comes with statements like we are all srilankens, then again totally contradictory statements that have met the wounds of the tamil folks.

  2. Seriously is this detailed enough for implementation. This is too general from someone in charge of the subject.

If you have withheld the details then you are insulting the intelligence of the reader.

Anyone can write stuff like this after a visit to the North !

    • Reconciliation = very sensitive task/mammoth work that should have to be performed by the close guidance of the highly educated professional in those fields.

So hardly believe though the numbers of his advisers are high, the majority of them are qualified enough to implement those added by Dr. Rajiva W for example.

If systems similar to this work well in developed world smoothly, at least 75% of work should be able to achieve in a developing nation like of ours – considering the high social indicators (high literary rates)
