  1. Is there a “secresy” clause – that employees of the Divi Neguma institutions cannot divulge information to the media etc.?
This was earlier mentioned as one the obnoxius features of the proposed Divi Neguma bill.

  2. Micro finance remains micro as long as govt is not involved. Once govt is involved it becomes a white elephant with political appointments, overheads, handouts etc. Divineguma if it was a private entity may have succeeded but not as a govt corporation. It is laughable that they pass the act and are now fishing for ideas from the public to achieve the objectives.

  3. Yes, now that the commercial banks have virtually finished “screwing” all SBU’s and other busineses they will turn to the micro finance sector for sure.

Strict controls and regulations to save the naive rural farmers and small industrialists of this Country, from the sharks who run the banks is a MUST.

  5. Micro financ typically traps people in a vicious cycle of poverty and debt. The “miciro”nature of such loans ensures that the financial thrust given is not big enough to overcome the catastrophic events or chronic poverty that lead them to borrow in the first place. This is sucha well researched , intelligently structures article. Please translate in to Sinhalese and publish this in a national newspaper. Only a minute fraction of our society has access to internet. I’m a skeptic who thinks that I will not see this corrupt regime come to an end in my lifetime no matter hat anyone says or writes. But this piece is so informative, may be it will give some knowledge to others out there.Thank you and all the best to Mr. Ratwatte

Kumarantunge of Sourbne educated fedual-democratic, are totally fail to address central point how to re-vitalized rural POOR form the rock bottom of expoliation and plundering by Hegemony Urban- Capital.Which UNP being represtantive of agent of Foreign and Urban Capital.
In fact under the guidence of Dr Ratwatta of UNP was unable to intiate and develop that, which RICH PEASANT ECONOMY IN RURAL POOR can overcome poverty and backcwardness in huge rural population in SRI LANKAN since 1948. The political- power of UNP was not eliminated RURAL poor ,but its mission was to expolited situation in favor of Urban Capital.
