Anura K Accuses SLFP Of Scuttling LG Election, Calls For Faizer’s Resignation

JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake accused the Sri Lanka Freedom Party of conspiring to postpone local government elections indefinitely and accused Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faizer Mustapha of deliberately submitting an erroneous gazette notification and that too after an inordinate delay.

Dissanayake claims that Mustapha knew that there would be legal action demanding that the gazette be held back. He further pointed out that the litigants were all close associates of senior SLFP Ministers and that one of the legal representatives was a long serving junior of Mustapha’s lawyer father.

The JVP leader explained that the entire process was orchestrated by Mustapha but admitted he didn’t know under whose direction.

Dissanayake said that Mustapha had time from February to November 2017 to discover if there was any error in the notification and asked what kind of minister he is if he couldn’t do that in all this time.

“He should resign,” Dissanayake said.

Dissanayake also pointed out that it was timed in such a way that court vacations would intervene and the determination delayed and possibly challenged in a higher court, thereby necessitating further postponement of the elections that are already more than two and a half years overdue.

Dissanayake said that there would soon be a vacancy in the Supreme Court and that since it will most likely be filled by a judge of the Appeals Court, determinations of this particular case could be colored by the career ambitions of incumbent judges.

Before Mustapha, Ranil who is a dangerous financial criminal should go.
Ranil who is a Financial Criminal who has looted Lanka should not in charge of economic policy in any more. Anura and JVP should first ask for sacking and impeachment of Bond Scam Ranil Wickramasinghe as the evidence is now in the public domain. Public must rise up in protest at the contempt with which Ranil and his royal college crony network treat the people of Sri Lanka who they have looted. Ranil is a dangerous Financial Criminal and should not be in charge of Economic policy /
The reason for lack of FDI and growth of real economy in Lanka is Corruption, Corruption, Corruption. But Bond swam Ranil’s American economic Hit Men from Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and their Fake advisers who wrote Ranil’s Vision 2025 instead pretend that reason for Lack of FDI in Lanka is Land, labour shortages and transport.
This Vision 2025 is fiction and a mis-Diagnosis of Sri Lanka’s economic woes and debt trap in order to privatize and sell off land, harbors and all strategic resources of the county under guise of Public Private Partnership (PPP) and through Land Bank of BOI which will give state lands, ports and other resources to cronies and US hedge funds without any transparency or accountability.

Has the army got to move in to see that democracy continues?

Shankar: It is democracy that is in play. All these court cases are significant and shows the strength of the democracy and were it not for this ultimate process, imagine what would have been the situation. Did you not see that oppressive state of affairs under the previous regime of MR? This court case is in relation to a “Technical” matter in the Gazette Notification and let it be canvassed in courts. Of course, I understand the “underhand” manipulations connected with it as described in Parliament by AKD. There are legal representations on behalf of UNP; JVP and the AG has made a very strong case in asking the courts to dismiss the petition without going into inquiry. If all that fail, I think, the Election Commission must decide to hold elections in the rest of the Local Govt. Institutions leaving aside the ones that are subject to dispute base on the Delimitation Committee Reports.

In other news MR’s got files: Thata Gana got information. People have seen neither.

“The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), the Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, claims he has information which can cause chaos.
Gnanasara Thero told reporters today that if he reveals the information he has it will result in chaos in the country in two hours.”

Actually Faizer Mustapha is following instructions from his Boss. Everybody knows who the Boss is. Boss knows very well that there is no chance for SLFP if the Mahinda Rajapaksha faction also fielded their candidates. MARA faction well organized with their ill gotten money and Media support from “Ada da Rena” and “Kudu Hiru”. SLFP wanted to make a coalition with MARA faction before going for the election. Files belongs to Rajapaksha family can use as leverage for this purpose. Otherwise SLFP will go to history as party which can’t even won a local Govt. election while in the Power with executive President. That is why MY3 blocked “Lankaenews” in Sri Lanka and use Maharajas “Kakkussi Kata” against UNP and use Bond commission to destroy UNP Leaders.

How come AKD you forgotten so fast that you voted in favour of the govt at the last amendment to bring this sorry situation?

    Well said lapatiya,

After Jan 8 2015 being the Executive President MY3 got what he deserved from AKD. It was a brilliant speech by Anura. SLFP bastards are dead scared to go for elections and to neutralize UNP popularity bond commission was set up.

I ask killi maharaja media coolies to telecast AKD full speech in parliament. Sirasa uses about 90 minutes daily to throw mud at UNP.

Look whose talking. It is only now Rathu
Aliyas, staunch backers of the UNP after
    Malik Samarawickrema worked a deal
    with Anura Dissanayake, are talking.
    That too about elections.

They vote with the government inside
    parliament and shout selectively among
some leaders outside side. Rathu Aliyas
have no shame. AKD has betrayed his
party for a few million rupees. Most
    JVPers do not know this.

JO is going to bring a no confidence motion against mustapha.
    Lets see the results below.

This Anura’s speech is one of the best speeches ever delivered in the Parliament. No confident should also be brought against the cabinet ministers whose Golayas have filed the action. Maithree SLFP will not allow an election until Mahinda-Maithree agreement to join is reached with the precondition that all Mahinda family members are protected against all outstanding cases.

What is required is not elections. All civic minded citizens should unite and pressure the Govt to uphold the Rule of Law. It is indeed regretable that big time Murderers and Crooks are free from the rule of Law.

I’ve just given you a thumbs up, “gamini”, because you’ve said that the Rule of Law must prevail, but I can’t, for the life of me, make out how there can be any honesty left, if these long overdue elections are not held.

Park has drawn attention to the importance of this speech, and I think that I must listen to Anura Kumara Dissanayake once more. The problem with JVP rhetoric is that although heard by many, and their validity being acknowledged, the JVP don’t get the votes. They may gravitate towards Mahinda R. And didn’t he say that he would work “even with the Devil”?

        *

Now who can be the Devil, except Mahinda? Yes, I’ve got to find time to listen to it again.
