True or not whether Srilanka Military Intelligence had any connection with AT is nothing much when compared to the connections that certain countries and media outfits had with the LTTE,specially their terror lord Pottu Amman. The difference being that these foreign governments and media outfits did it in the open and still does.I blame Rajapakse for limiting the LLRC commission’s mandate to cover events that took place only in 2009 and thereafter. If the period after 2001 had been covered, we would have heard a lot about how foreign countries and media outlets had been backing the LTTE terror organization. It was during the bogus peace accord that the Srilanka foreign minister Lakshman Kadiragamar was murdered. On the pretext of talking peace, the shamed Norwegians trained the LTTE in underwater warfare. If any of those European or Scandinavian courts care to investigate how the likes of channel 4 obtained money from the LTTE,heads will roll. But now the modus operandi is “Baduth Hamuduruwange,Naduth Hamuduruwange”.It seems that the good guys are the murderous Tamil Tigers and the bad guys are the democratically elected GOSL.When are these fellows coming to Srilanka to investigate human rights violations as in the case of going to Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction? These foreign clowns better be warned, the Tamil Tigers are notorious for biting the hand it’s fed.Sonia Ghandi would know better.

I love Asian Tribune, as it never condemns Sri Lanka on international level. I also love Colombo Telegraph.

I fully agree with you BODHINAYAKA. I AM GRATEFUL TO CT, AS IT HELPS ME REALIZE THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OF MALICE, WHO THINK THEY ARE JOURNALISTS AND WRITERS.

Good to know that SLA MI is doing its job – i.e. spreading fear, suspicion and dissension amongst the ranks of the exiled LTTE.

Rakupathi, the leader of the Swiss Eelamists whines piteously about how they’re being tracked and countered by SLA MI.

Q: Who wants to push the Tamil Tigers into the filth?
Rakupathi: “Agents of the government of Sri Lanka. The country has created five secret intelligence teams and sent them into the Tamil diaspora to combat the Tamil Tigers. They’re also present in Zurich. They have more resources than us and are well-connected.”

How do these secret intelligence teams operate?
Rakupathi:“The agents photograph and document who’s active in the LTTE or who attends demonstrations. This information is sent back to Sri Lanka via their embassy. We saw them again, in May last year. We estimate that there are at least 50 agents are in Switzerland and among them, Europeans also. There are also those who criticise the Tamil Tigers in the media.”

Who knew that GoSL MoD were capable of undertaking such complex missions? :)

The sneaky Brits have long used journalists as cover for spies. “Around 40 per cent of MI6 officers sent abroad on missions use journalistic credentials,” said one former British intelligence officer. MI6 has a special unit that produces forged documents.” http://tinyurl.com/82f28jc

The late Marie Colvin also had very interesting ‘connections’ to the LTTE, even going so far as to intercede on their behalf to permit their botched ‘surrender’.

If army intelligent unit says someone is an LTTE, there should be a reason. They know more than anybody else who was involved in what.

When a terrorist responsible for so many massacres officially complain in a EU court that he was been defamed by the country where he commited crimes. Terrorist has more rights as the complainant than the victim who is already dead. That is where western world is heading unfortunately.
Imagine Al Qaeda memebers responsible for so many massacres in west come to India or China and file a complaint against western forces or politicians and they take it up seriously and call for an investigation against GWBush and Tony Blair.
What would be the reaction of the West?

Professor Gunaratne is not in any Military Intelligence for Sri Lanka. He writes on all terrorists groups and has a lot of information to reveal. He like most Sri Lankans wants to have peace and cohabitation among all the citizens of Sri Lanka. he has been interviewed on television stations in Europe as he is considered an expert on Terrorism and Counter Terrorism.

Oh my God, look at how defence secretary talks to Foreign Minister who looks like a purport . Never seen this type of attitude from any secretary ever because in Sri Lanka, post of secretary of any ministry not powerful as any minister but what makes difference here is this man is the brother of Sri Lankan president therefore it is useless talking any further.
