The police have now identified the lady involved in Deshabandu Sanath Jayasuriya‘s leaked home made sex video as one Sirisena, Colombo Telegraph reliably learns.
According to the police sources, although investigations into the leakage have been concluded, the facts uncovered are to be held for future use.
A senior Government official, who did not wish to be named, said “the government will use it to blackmail a popular media company whose owners are connected to the lady, just as the Rajapaksas had done with respect to the same TV and Radio station”.
Deshabandu Sanath Jayasuriya was accused of leaking a ‘revenge porn’ sex tape, where he is filmed having sex with one of his ex-partners. His ex-partner in the video is now married to a well-known businessman and media tycoon, who himself owns a gossip segment under his well-established television, radio and web company.
Since the leakage of the video last month almost all the mainstream media including the BBC has interviewed Sanath Jayasuriya, but they have not investigated the accusation levelled against him.

I’m trying to understand the context of this article. First it identifies and names the other party who was in the leaked video along with the famous cricketer. Then it goes on to state that a senior government official claims that the government WILL use it to blackmail a popular media company whose owners are connected to the said lady. And in the end the article appeals to those who’ve been victimized in a similar manner to contact the National Center for Cyber Security.
Isn’t the author of this article and the senior government official (along with the government if this statement is accurate) violating privacy laws and victimizing the parties involved in this incident further? This is certainly not ethical, responsible reporting!

I would like to view all this from a good governance point of view. It is alleged that those in authority are storing “information” in the form video material “for future use” with a view to black-mail. Black-mailing whom is a secondary question compared with the need for the same in a structure of good governance. Firstly to enforce the law equally and fairly do you ever need to black-mail people? I do not think so. Secondly to work for the betterment or the upliftment of the population do you ever need to black-mail people? I do not think so.
The purpose of a black-mail is to keep the victim “under tabs” so that the victim or his associates would comply with the requirements of the oppressor. Therefore to keep “under tabs” means to get the victim to do things which he normally would have refused had he not been under the threat of expose. In other words to perform illegal and immoral acts. What usually happens is that while those in authority have some “info” to control others the latter too have some “info” on the former. The final result is that the implementaion of Good Governance is in the shade.

i don’t know why such a fuss about sanath and sirisena having sex. Chimps with whom we share 95% of our DNA have sex much more than us that does not justify that mere 5% of DNA difference.Female chimps have sex one to four times per hour with upto dozen males per day.Besides sanath is a sportsman which is rooted in his DNA and sex will also be a competitive sport for him ,whereas for most of us it is just a physical excercise only..Anying with physical exercise and copetitiveness becomes a sport .Even that other great sportsman Arjuna ranatunge is trying to compete with sanath but is losing heavily due to his weight.I heard he had to make a special bed in the ministry of sports,er sorry ports because twice the beds broke and injured the female chimps,er sorry humans because they expected a fellow chimp,not a gorilla to get on top.
