Brig. Priyanka Fernando Found Guilty On Three Offences Under Public Order Act: Arrest Warrant Issued

Brigadier Priyanka Fernando, a senior officer of Sri Lanka Army, has been found guilty of two of three offences under Public Order Act by signalling a death threat to Tamil protestors on February 04, last year.

The Westminster Magistrate Court issued an arrest warrant on Fernando ruling that his actions were threatening, caused harassment, and that he intended them to be so.

Following this judgement an international arrest warrant is likely to be issued for Sri Lanka’s ex defence attache Brigadier Priyanka Fernando. If the Sri Lankan government refuses to cooperate, its High Commissioner in London will be summoned to appear before the Court, informed sources said.

I suspect the LTTE Diaspora had a hand in the judge’s decision.
What is the price of British justice for this poor compassionate, Buddha like war hero?
Ranil, Mangala …………….. can you explain how our former colonial masters could still whip our war heroes with their arcane laws. As they did in the past Brits are still favouring Tamils.
Our local heroes should start protesting in front of British Embassy in Colombo.

Wimal windbag Weerawansa lets start a farce onto death protest. I will be right behind you, of course with Lemon Puff packets.

There is news that secretary to ministry of defence Hemasiri Fernando had stated that charges will be brought in SL courts against 11 army personnel involved in war crimes. After slumbering for four years government has woken up not in a sincere manner but to hoodwink the world as Geneva UNHRC meeting is due in march, where they will go and say that they are taking action against war criminals. Once heat of the meeting is over and pressure deflected this case will be swept under the carpet until the next sitting of UNHRC in Geneva. This is another fake trial and no one will be punished.

How could a foreign government find this decent compassionate human being who single handedly liberated 300,000 people from the clutches of 100,000 terrorists while holding UN Human Rights charter in one hand and …………………….. .

Wondering what happened to Adele Balasingham? Perhaps, she did not break any British laws or international laws for that matter. Confessing and photographic evidence of her training Child soldiers.

Until such people are brought to justice, Sri Lankans with diplomatic immunity such as Brig. Priyanka Fernando should treat British courts with contempt.

The Westminister Magistrate can take those two fingers and stick them up his rear-end for all what we Sri Lankans could care.

      Absolutely correct Lt. Perera !

Maybe the learned Magistrate should consider the whole fist instead of the two fingers.

And, if the SL envoy to UK is summoned to the UK courts- SL should summon his Brit. Counterpart in Colombo to explain why UK is not concerned about Mama Balasingham hanging those cyanide caps around kid soldiers’ necks!

      Dear Rtd.Lt.RSP,
It is good that you accept the fact that he threatened to murder Tamil Protestors. You may not like the verdict but the verdict is right. You may have forgotten that your defence secretary sent the No 2 of LTTE (Karuna Amman) in a fake passport to UK and he was punished for 9 months in UK courts. When he came back you gave ministerial posts. For what? For killing 600 Sinhalese policemen in the East and attacking Daladha Maligawa. What a beauty of justice? Buddhism teaches kindness and honesty but Buddhist Fundamentalism teaches murder and violence. Are you proud of massacring your own blood and your own brothers?

Priyanka’s signalling did not mean that he will cut the throats of the demonstrators. On the contrary he meant that he will cut his own throat and commit suicide, if the British Government did not take action against the demonstrators. After all he was a Savior of Srilanka.
        Please understand.

Perhaps you better go all the way to London and file complaint against Mrs Balasingham at the local police station. The police might take her to task at the Westminster Magistrate Court.

@Retarded Shemale Perehera, you dumb little sh&t, now you are a legal mind too? What the heck are you still moaning about a defunct terrorist outfit for? Are you trying to hoodwink the entire world by throwing this sort of nonsense to coverup the heinous crimes committed by the state terrorists in military uniform, one being you. I know you never committed any crimes as you were the gardener and toilet cleaner at the barracks. No body with an ounce of intelligence would have given you a weapon as you did not understand that you need to point the gun outwards not inwards towards you. Bloody mutt! Who told you that, there is no requirement for investigation when it involves a child? Do you know your f’in hero employed two goons called Karuna Amman and Pillayan, who were small children (child soldiers) when the dreaded LTTE conscripted them forcibly or otherwise? Don’t you think that is a travesty of justice? Do you know these two hoodlums later murdered 600 surrendered policemen in cold blood? It broke my heart hearing this, mainly about those poor families who were left behind after the death of these poor policemen. Low level cops are not rich, the death of these policemen would have brought further hardship to their families. You come here and f’in crow about your filthy scumbag stories about how you drank, raped and murdered innocent people during your escapades in the army. Firstly let me ask you how did you manage to commit all these crimes when you were simply a cleaner? Also you retired only a Lt.? That means you amounted to nothing in life, even in the Lankan army! So go and screw off you little piece of sh*t.

Adele is a FREEDOM fighter. She ensured the “freedom” of all the young LTTE fighting cadres of males and females by personally putting the suicide pill in a necklace round their necks. That is the difference.

You miss the point! Adele Baasingham should be held accountable for being a party to promoting young children and women into an armed conflict. What if the British Army calls young women and children to war and to add to that, issues suicide pills?! Why has the British Government and the E.U and all these very “holier than thou” organizations raised any concerns on that? Suicide pills may have caused the death of countless young Sri Lankan Tamils during this LTTE issue. Why no reaction from any of us?!

This is my point and WHY this unfortunate episode in our national history will never be properly addressed. Its all POLITICS, which is why the British Government raised and will never raise any objections to the LTTE supporters carrying the “Lions head” flag, the flag banned as it represent a banned organization. It is understandable why this Brigadier did what he did, though he should NEVER have done so but exercised disciplined conduct.

If I am this officer, I would go and face the judge and let the whole world see the fiasco.

PS. Its not important what my background is. Its the priciple that matters.

        • 2

To whomsoever put a “red”, please advise me WHY you dissent! You have to either agree that Adele is right in wearing a LTTE uniform and garlanding these young children with the suicide pill or disagree. Why do you put that red mark? CT is the only media organ that reports unbiased and they will also wonder why there is this red.

As foir the Lt. Col, I am sure he, as an officer of the Sri Lanka Army may wish to go and face the courts. In his place, I would. Would you?

        2

@Kumaran, you must be off your rockers friend. Most LTTE fighters who were under age were forcibly recruited by the LTTE. LTTE was not a charity and it was a terrorist outfit which was a creation by the successive governments of SL. How many academics did they murder…………..case in point is the Principal of St. John’s College. How could intelligent people with a heart support this menace which was in existence until 2009? If Adele and the high command of the LTTE placed a cyanide capsule around these innocent children with guns who were forcibly conscripted, then why didn’t the very same high command use what was around their necks in 2009 and decided to surrender? Bastards and cowards that’s what they were. These poor kids fought and died and the high command decided to surrender. What a betrayal!!!! I am not sure whether this woman is alive but if she is alive she must be charged. Likewise the Rajapaksas and all war criminals must be incarcerated in some foreign jail, preferably in some impoverished country to increase the punishment.

Why don’t you go to London and file a case against Ms, Balasingam if you have the backbone?
You can ask Punchi Banda and Podi Menike in the Middle East for necessary funds.
Also, go in front of British Parliment and stage fasting till death to express your support for this head cutting Attacé who thought he can do anything and escape like in SL.
Do you think Magistrates in U.K are like your ones here?

        Cholan,

Are you mad? Why would we want Adele inside a court of law. While she’s living freely, when a Brit starts to talk about Justice we can remind them about AB, only if shes walking freely on the streets of London.

As I said, you can see how this is going to end. The magistrate has only one option left, to roll his arrest warrant to a diameter he sees fit, and stick it up his rear-end.

No one is going to get arrested over this Cholan. Not to worry about it. Summoning ambassadors is a two-way street. They do it, we do it.

Hahahahaha What two way street. They summon ambassador, you summon ambassador. They arrest / expel ambassador, you arrest / expel ambassador. They stop financial assistance, you stop…. wait, you don’t provide any freaking financial assistance to anybody. Your so called two way street ends there :)

You will find that taking on world powers is verrrry different to defeating a tiny movement labelled terrorist all over the world, out numbered at least 20:1 in manpower, 1000
:1 in finance, far behind you in technology, and only superior to you on motivation. Even then you needed decades to do it, and needed the help of the self-same western powers and India which you like to hate. You brave veerayas soiled your pants when India violated your so-called airspace, and no Chinese planes came to help you either.

        • 8
          2

Let me tell you how this is going to end. Having hallucinations about the grandiose of your little country and the bravery of your little terrorist group a.k.a Sri Lankan army (now don’t deny that it is terrorist, you have made numerous admissions about the terrorist acts you committed already ), once you reach the end of the two way street you were talking about, you will have to fall at the feet of China to extend it a bit longer. It may not work. It didn’t last time: when India decided to enter your rear end by force, China did not help to protect your arse, and we all witnessed the happy marriage-after-rape between Rajiv boy and JR girl. But assuming it works and China protects you, you will soon wish you were in bed with the west, so hard will be the renal violation you get from China. You may not know it, obviously not being bright, but a Chinese admiral once did invade your country and took your king prisoner. “Insignificant worms” he called your lot, and he specifically meant the Sinhalese by that – and in his victory pillar which he built in Hambantota he did not even bother to include Sinhalese. The “insignificant worms” did not even deserve to read the proclamation of victory by the August Emperor of the Middle Kingdom. Instead he had Chinese, Arabic, and … wait for it, Tamil. Oh no, you hate the west, and the Chinese are your friends who will save you from the west. Hahahahahahahahaha Enjoy the dragons dick up your arse – it is coming in already.

            Hard Truth,

JR died a natural death. Rajiv was so blown off to pieces that Sonia couldn’t even retrieve his penis for the funeral. So, what’s your point? JR won by an innings and 300 runs. And what’s more, we got the Tamil Tigers to do that dirty job for us.

Your story is about the Chinese invasion of the Island is nothing but a totally fabricated load of cow crap. One of your elders must have fed that to you when they were putting you to sleep when you were small.

I am a man in my 60s, a proud Veteran of the Sri Lankan Armed forces and now a successful investment Advisors in Canada. You are the insignificant worm and not the Sinhalese. And wait a minute, from your claim that the so-called Chinsese invaders called upon the Tamils to read the alleged proclamation of Victory tells me something about you. That you are nothing but a Tamil rowdy who the security forces should have dissolved when the time was ripe.

      1

      To: Lt ( Rtd ) R S Perera.

Ref to your article it is not Brig Fernando who is partly to blame but your corrupt politicians and leaders of your country.
      1. Brigadier Fernando should have realized that he is a Diplomat ( Military Attache ) representing his country and making crude gestures in public in army uniform is not of a good soldier of a good army. The Sri Lanka army is not like the armies of the banana republics in Africa. Those armies are thugs, murderers, rapists, and you name it in uniform.
The Lankan army has been and is one of the best in SE Asia.

      2. Leave Adele Balasingham and the LTTE alone. They got what they fought for and that is a good bloody thrashing at the hands of the SL army. Prabahakaran’s demise is the best thing that ever happened in SL since 1948.

      3. Treating British Courts with contempt is not the answer. Treating the bloody corrupt politicians of your country with contempt is the answer.

      4. It is not the West Minister Magistrate who should take his two fingers and stick it up his rear. It should be your bloody politicians who should stick all their fingers up the rear.
The Corrupt Wankers are dragging you and the entire country into the foul smelling Cesspit of greed that they have carved up for themselves and what do you people do in return, go out and vote the same Wankers into power.
It will be a miracle if you are left with your underwear as days go by because your politicians are capable of stripping you off your underwear before they throw you into their self carved Cesspits.

      5. The politicians of your country don’t give a damn about you for all they care.
What they care is about themselves and as long as they enjoy Wanking themselves at your expense, that’s all that matters to the bloody Wogs.

      Good Luck.

It’s amazing how the judiciary could be influenced in a western country to this extent Lankans, rise up and force those British courts notice Adel Balasingham’s crimes. I also fail to understand why the media in Sri Lanka (at least the patriotic bunch) never ever stand up to western diplomats and take them to task. Maybe the fear of losing a visa to visit could be holding them back.

LawAsia, when TNA lawyers were arguing the Parliament dismissal case in a complex way to include answers to Manohara’s racial diatribes, suggested it was unwanted as the constitution was abundantly clear that the dismissal was unconstitutional.

Lankawe plant writers to balance the truth in Media, plant hitmen to shoot police to create a mirage that LTTE has resurrected, work with criminal to make an image that Buddha’s statue are demolished by infiltrated ISIS. They maintain that LTTE used human shield, a crime on international humanitarian law, so it became a need for Rapist Army to bombed 150,000 Tamils.

Last time in UNHRC, before the previous HC retired, he advised the Tamils and INGOs that universal jurisdiction may be the way to go as UNHRC is too weak to make any quick decision. Because he saw abundant law breaking in the accused’s criminal behaviors and felt outside o Island Ceylon no court would ignore that overwhelming evidences. Unlike in Sri Lanka where the justice system crawls like a snail, the British justice system is swift and decisive. In Sri Lanka the justice system is corrupt. Cases drag on for years and years until the ligators are dead and gone. The judges don’t bother, so are the lawyers. Lawyers make money everytime a case is postponed and even if they lose the case at the end.NoPresident, no Prime Minister, no Minister is prepared to tackle this problem. It is reported there are well over750,000 cases pending in courts. This is a goldmine for lawyers!

Damn high-handed Brits! Bloody cheek convicting our decorated Padikkam Carrying beautiful Brigadier for performing a harmless throat-slitting custom (that is akin to an Eskimo rubbing noses). Of course, now the poor guy will be unable to enjoy the delights of Bayswater Soho. What to do?

As for the 41 Trillion loot, the British have been very sporting letting in 140,000 documented (and umpteen undocumented) Sri Lankans to live in the UK, (and millions of Indians/Pakistan/Bangladesh as well) to look for the said looted dough. They could start by going to Room 33 of the British Museum where the heavily guarded, priceless statue of the Buddhist deity Tara resides.

Now if the Sri Lankans want to retaliate they should consider all the option of detaining all those Brits sunning themselves on our sunny beaches and showing off some worrying tattoos that are anathema to our decent upasekhe amma’s
who are guardians of our national decency.

All this can be avoided if the brave war hero Brigadier can be a man and give himself up to court. Be a man Brigadier, even if you cannot be a proper officer and a gentleman.

The latest development about the conviction of Brigadier of Priyanka Fernando by the Westminster Court Magistrate, I am told, is about the SL Foreign Affairs Ministry summoning the British High Commissioner for a briefing.

I will not be surprised that in light of the recent news about the shredding and destruction of hundreds of papers from the 1980’s and after during the Thatcher and Blair eras on the uprising in SL till 2009 which saw the end of the LTTE.,
The role played at that time by the UK government could be embarrassing for it now, as it was during that period that SL’s Defence Secretary Sepala Atygalle visited Belfast in 1984 after his forces massacred Tamil civilians to discuss counter insurgency methods used by the Royal Ulster Constabulary.

      Softy,

Lankawe just deported UK, German Ambassadors. But UK politely & secretly advised the FM to recall the goon. But Marapana would not give up. Kariyawasam recalled him. New King, challenging UK, reinstated him. Let’s say that it was the internal pressure from Rapist Army War Criminals threatened New King of Coup, so he reinstated. But the truth is, foolishly, arrogant New King disregarded the FAM Secretary’s diplomatic decision. New King refused to work with UK until they excreted more pressure to have him withdrawn. As continuous challenge, New King immediately sent him to China. Still there is no news yet that UK has placed a notice with INTERPOL. (Unlikely unless heavy pressure plaintiff’s lawyers.) Then what is going to happen? Once he is inside, certainly he will be presented with War Crimes charges too. Then this will be the first War Crime case under Universal Jurisdiction on Tamil Genocide.
Ranil had the LG election to disturb the Sep 2018 UNHRC sitting. But this can heat up during March 2019.

present day Sri Lankan dilomats are thugs….there are exceptions like the Sri Lankan High Comissioner to Australia.

These thugs should be taught a lesson, that Sri Lankan thuggery law canniot be practiced imposed from the safety of teh High Comission compounds

He went through the courts system, and was found to be guilty. Fair enough.

No Sri Lankan officer, wearing the uniform of his country, should behave that way. Just because the protesters annoyed him, it does not mean that he should respond in that ugly way, making violent gestures. He should have shown some dignity and not stooped down to thuggish gestures. Just because he was treated like a hero in in this country, does not mean he will be treated like one in the real world.

Sri Lankan security forces and police do not need an excuse to abuse innocent people. Abuse is in their blood because they enjoy life long impunity from all kind of human rights violations. They join the forces and police precisely for that reason.

Look at the Sri Lankan armed forces who were deported back to Sri Lanka from Haiti for child sex abuse.

The British Police, and Her Majesty’s government allows the LTTE to conduct themselves like the killers that they are but because of the VOTE, this man is seen to be guilty. Its OK, if there is a reason and if found guilty it is punishable. But the events that led to this is not even worthy of the British sense of humour!

Already Holland..Dutch…New Zealand courts declared LTTE are freedom fighters.

Why dont you make a massive demostration infront of British High-Commission there

Stupid man as usual you have missed the point. The case was brought by one of your brethren in the UK.

Why don’t you clever dicks file a complaint against Mrs Balasingham at the local police station and see through the case which would be depending on the authenticity of evidence decided by the judge.

Have you formally requested your former colonial masters to extradite Mrs Balasingam or any other Demela Diaspora terrorists? Will you also request your president Hopper Sirisena to charge Karuna, KP, Pillayan, ………………….. for their role in the destabilisation of this island and war crimes?

      Are somass’s brother?

And the real deal for a SL Army Commander going forward.

Typical Sinhala nationalist reply. Counter-blaming rather than addressing the issue at hand, and cherry-picking examples at that. It is not going to work any more in the modern world mate. The British are certainly no saints but that has no bearing on whether what this guy did is right. But never mind that, lets say you are genuinely concerned about the Child soldiers of LTTE and want to bring it up, even though it is not directly connected to what the war criminal Brigadier did. Sure, the LTTE is certainly responsible for the crime of recruiting child soldiers, but did Adele have a big hand in it? Personally I doubt it. She is a white women with no connection to Tamils, and probably could not speak tamil very well. The Tamil children cannot relate to her at all. She would have been a very poor choice as a motivator or recruiter. All the recorded evidence suggests that the biggest child recruiter of LTTE is still alive and well in Sri Lanka – that is none other than Karuna. Child recruitment was much more rampant in the East compared to North, and if you just look at the pictures of his forces during his ‘rebellion’ against Pirabaharan, you would see that he was setting boys against men (of the northern LTTE). American missionaries working in Batticaloa called him the ‘Ogre coming down from the mountain (of Thoppigala) to take children’. If you really care about child recruitment, why don’t you ask the Sri Lankan government to arrest and punish Karuna? Oh, while at it, you might also ask for punishment for all other war crimes committed against Tamil children who were non-combatants (not even by force). These crimes range from Aerial bombing of schools to grabbing infants from mothers’ breast and smashing their heads in Mullivaikal. Come on man show us that your concern about poor Tamil children is real!

    *Brig. Priyanka Fernando*
    ,
Kindly read about him. He has helped many Tamils during the war. He refused to do wrong even when Rajapaksha regime forced him.
    ,
What ever he did was after speaking to them nicely and when he realized the people protesting were mostly born and bred in UK. Most of them had no idea about the war in Sri Lanka.
    ,
They were definitely the LTTE diaspora who are backed by many corrupt politicians in UK.
    ,
This incident happened inside our Embassy. It is our Jurisdiction. UK verdict will have no effect. It’s just a drama to mislead the LTTE diaspora in order to have their continues support.

      Suranga Gunasekera

The much-decorated Brigadier no doubt must have done a lot of good in his life. That does NOT excuse his provocative behaviour at anytime, even on our National Day when goaded by others. If a foreigner in Sri Lanka shows off, say a tattoo, something that is unacceptable to OUR laws and customs, we will punish them. It is our sovereign right. Similarly, We Sri Lankans should be law abiding and do nothing illegal when abroad. If the much-decorated officer stood inside the High Commission, pulled out his little willie and waved it at the protesters, it would have been just as unacceptable.

About the same as the war hero returned, the Sri lanka government bravely accepted the resignation of the decent Amari Wijewardena.

Perhaps we should send our local hero Sajin Vass Gunawardena to see the Westminister magistrate and sort this out.

      • 2
        1

I don’t disagree with the fact that it’s unacceptable behavior. Definitely childish and irresponsible.
        ,
The high commission premises is officially Sri Lanka.
        ,
We don’t need the British to take our matters into their hands when they have their own untouched mess in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Panama papers scandals, wiki leaks, Russian Scandals and many more in the recent past.
        ,
This just a speck in our eyes not anymore or less. They definitely need to learn how to take the log out of their eyes. Only then they will find the right view.
        ,
The intention is to only support the LTTE diaspora. Which makes perfect economic sense for them.

“They were definitely the LTTE diaspora who are backed by many corrupt politicians in UK.”

Please ask Navin Nayakka to write letters in English to the corrupt politicians in the UK and let see the results. Can’t you get Wimal Weerawansa to start a fast unto death in front of British High Commission in Colombo?

      Suranga Gunasekara,
      .
There is saying inSinhala veranacular, රත්තරන් කඩුවෙන් උනත් ඇන්නොත් මැරෙනව..தங்கம் இறந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறதா, இல்லையா? even if the gold swode is used to stab, that can end up with fatal consequences. Like wise, above mentioned Brigadier may have done whole lot of good things in his life, but we cant agree with you here, the crime he committed here is seen as not a joke right ?:
      .
The very same, with Rajapakshes, he led the term where terror elemination was finally achieved, but that means not that all the high crimes they deliberately made in post war scenrio should be not investigated and punished accordingly ?
      :
I think our people s attitude should be corrected else, many would end up in difficulties. I have heard most living in abroad regardless of their edcuational backgrounds, very often, feel that they deny to see things in terms of the countries where they are located. Most living in ME countries get caught not knowing the basics about laws. So is the case heard from the communities living in Korea and Italy. Most of these people belong to skilled worker category.

      • 1
        3

I believe you have got the wrong end of the stick.
        ,
I completely understand that he should face the consequences of the childish behavior.
        ,

I don’t like when the blind is trying to lead the blind. We can solve our own issues.
        ,
They should not pick and choose the cases. There are many individuals who have brought shame to many nations. Why only him?
        ,
Why not Adele Balasingham who not only threaten, but killed and trained many Tamil children. She lives in peace only because she is Australian by birth but English by law.
        ,
Don’t you see the contradiction Mr Gunawardhana?

        • 4
          0

I for one don’t see any contradiction. Whether Adele committed any crime is debatable, but what is not debatable is that she did not commit the alleged crime of child recruitment in British soil. So why should they charge her? The war criminal brigadier did, and it is on camera, so naturally he is charged. Remember, he is charged for the gesture he made, not for the far more heinous crimes he allegedly committed in war, because they were outside UK. If you think you can do whatever in your own consulate, let me remind you that even the Saudis did not invoke that argument. Turkish police did enter Saudi consulate many times recently, and the Saudis are still trying to deny the murder rather than saying “The consulate is our jurisdiction”. If a crime is committed the host country can investigate and punish.

          • 2
            0

Good point. I will agree with you for a moment. On the same note you are assuming a Soudi official will be punished by Turkey, in the future. It is my belief that was just political drama to reduce public pressure.
            ,
Sometimes people show the middle finger as a friendly gesture and sometimes to show anger. But what it really means is something totally different.
            ,
How did the British determine his intention. Check the video it was not an angry face. I assume he meant to say don’t destroy my nation.

            • 0
              0

              Suranga,

You have earlier stated that what the ‘Brigadier’ did was wrong.

Now you agree that the British has jurisdiction to punish him.

Therefore there is nothing to argue about, we are on the same page.

              Case closed :)

chat later on another post, bye.

Hardtruth@This is commonsense right ?. But lankens media men behave as if that should NOT be the way leaving ambiguity on the topic. That is being done intentionally for some thinkable reasons.
            :
President himself added yesterday that there is a convicted drug trafficker in lanken jail as a prisoner who is the only prisoner to have all documents available if authorties would search for informatoin. All relevant docs of other prisoners jailed on drug trafficking are missing.
            :
And lanken courts do investigate cases of visting tourists that were caught with drugs and other crimes with some of being put in jail.
            :
Above examples do make clear that if a crime is committed the host country can investigate and punish.
            :
Dont forget, former President’s COUSIN AKA FORMER Ambassador turn high criminal/ Udayanga Weerathunga is rumouerd to be jailed in Dubai where he was last caught by interpole ( as was the case with DUMINDA SILVAs medical history, all these are well covered by lanken MAIN stream media). None of the information is published in the country, since lanken main stream MEDIA are on the pay role of RAJAAKSHE propaganda UNITs. That means, even a BLATANT lie, or a prima facie evidence WOULD not have been exposed to the nation, SOLONG RAJAAKSHE media men are proactive in the country.

I do feel the entire Armed forces [Navy/Airforce/Police/Army/Homeguards] need RETRAINING on how to interact with the CIVILIANS—be it Sinhalese/Tamil/Muslims/Burghers/Malays/Veddhas.
Treat them as HUMANBEINGS & not as animals for sacrifice. Tamils after seeing the KILLINGS at point blank range by armed forces and rape and tortures of innocents [+BURNING of the Precious Jaffna Library]
would definitely do NOT want to see them in the North and East of the country.

The difference between Adel and Priyanka is Adel is White and Priyanka is Black. Racial discrimination on skin color in UK is rampant. Even school kids shout at Asians ‘Paki Go Home’ but no action is taken.
    ————————–
Not only Adel, there are many former LTTE cadres who committed heinous crimes against unarmed civilians are hiding in UK but UK Government is not bothered about them. May be still they are considered as ‘Freedom Fighters’.

Eagle generally has a good eyesight. But our Sri lankan Eagle, typical of what it is, is blind. Mate Eagle, I dont deny with you that there are LTTE guys who have committed crimes are living in UP, etc, but unless some of you guys come with facts and figures one cannot do anything. Sadly the west has become a haunting grounds for Sinhala and Tamil crooks to hid from their sins. Even Gonavila Sunil, Kudu Lal, Kohilawardena alias Karuna amman; all these rouges were there. War hero Gothapaya and Great Patriot Buddhist MR are behind obtaining the hora passport to Karuna Murderer. What have you guys done to Karuna fellow except using him as a stud bull or old politicians wives. How about Weera Monkey and he too went on a hora passport and what happened to him? he is sleeping on MR’s lap.

Come on Eagle, no harm being a Blind racist but still there ought to be some logic.

      Eagle Eye,

In Canada, sometimes I go to Pickup my Grand kids from their elementary school. I have never heard any of the Kids shouting anything to my Grand son or daughter. Of course, they go to a Private school. Perhaps, that is the reason. Or maybe just that the kids in Canada are more civilized than their British counterparts.

In any case, if I hear something like that I will grab the SOB by his collar and shove him. And if it’s parent’s are nearby I will tell them off as well. And I see fit, I will get physical with them as well. When it comes to combat, there is nothing they can show me that I haven’t seen already.

Besides, we didn’t travel thousands of miles to hear this nonsense from inbred punk.

    Here’s a hypothetical situation.

Let’s go back to early 2009 or December 2010, when the Sri Lankans organized protests in front of the British High Commission in Colombo. And let’s assumed that a British military attaché walks out to inspect the protesters and makes beautiful gestures like what our War Hero, Brigadier, Commando, Zero Casualty, Civilian Rescue Operation Head did. How will we Sri Lankans, who now fully believe in collective rights, respond to such beautiful gestures?

As I review the comments, I see only a few rational thinking people and great many idiots in these columns. Little wonder why we paddle into shit creek in just about every front that has become an affront. Thus, I am saddened by the bleak future I envision for the country. We cannot expect any goodwill, reconciliation or recovery if we are not conscious, truthful in accepting our faults that are bigoted and arrogant. What Taraki mentioned is serious stuff. These kind of cheap remakes whether at insulting each other or trying to defend this incident itself will only embolden those like Goatabaya Rajapaksha who is prima facie murder suspect. If not for him, some other communal minded racist will replace him. Whether we are educated or uneducated, rich or poor, disciplined or undisciplined, war monger or pacifist, there is some goodness in everyone of us. We all have a cognitive neuron to endorse moral decency and common sense to think and act rationally. Even if we cannot agree on anything else, at least we can agree on this premise. What is bizarre is that our civility and sense of decency is not common anymore as in the word “common sense”. The meaning is deep and I am sad that only a few will ever get this. What Brig. Fernando committed was disdainful. He disgraced our country, our commonwealth standing, international goodwill, our diplomats and foreign service, the military and the uniform. What Brig. Fernando wished for and built over many years during his service for his own good were besmirch by a vulgar hand gesture that decapitated not only his own but ours’ as well.

Leave aside what he did during the LTTE war this joker is a disgrace to not only to the army but to Sri Lanka if the country has any respect left behind. This misfit to behave like this while attached to the embassy in the UK is appalling. But who cares? In the land of the blind one eyed jack is a king. If the politicians could behave in such a disgraceful manner in the parliament then what one could expect out of this half baked moron? The culture and religion is fully eroding into the country’s value system
