Cabinet Committee On Economic Management Directs FCID To Probe Only Pre-2015 Deals

The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) is asked not to probe procurements after 2015 by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM).

The move means that only procurements before 2015, which were under the Mahinda Rajapaksa administration, would be probed, the Sunday Times reported.

According to the newspaper, the FCID has been told to direct all such investigation to the National Procurement Commission. At a recent discussion, it was noted that the FCID summoned public officers for investigations on procurement issues.

The CCEM has said it is of the view that procurement issues could be handled by the National Procurement Commission.

How come the CCEM is giving directions to the FCID?, this is the multimillion-rupee question, the Sunday Times said.

“A key concept that underpins a strong and genuinely democratic relationship between the police and executive is that of operational independence or functional autonomy for the police.” a retied Police officer to Colombo Telegraph.

So who is going to probe procurements after 2015? That will be done by what Kumar David called ‘People’s Power (PP)’. These guys in the government are living in a fool’s paradise. A chap in my village said ‘Aaapudenko ena sere chande illagena. api denewa goo mutti’ (let them come asking for votes. we will give them shit buckets). I asked a trader in my area close to Colombo about business during New Year. The answer was ‘Mahattaya, kiyala wedak ne. Mun rata kanawa.’ (it is very bad. these fellows are ruining the country).

“FCID To Probe Only Pre-2015 Deals”. Mark my words: Even that will not be done and allowed to be done properly. The “FATE” of all probes under “Yahapalanaya” has been already WRITTEN.

There is still a remedy to this – with RTI and Public Interest litigation,
the probes by Judicial means will take a new turn, where open interference
by MS/RW will decide future politics.

It is every thing getting ready for the election at the expense of the country.

It is the executives who are thieves and pests.

Without going into specifics, two are charged for misappropriation on grounds that funds (a princely sum)have been transferred to another Government account from the institutional funds (a semi-government instituion) which does not meet the objectives for which the institution was created. GOOD! But under “Yahapalanaya” the same “mistake” is done. The amount involved is about one sixth the previous defalcation, which is also huge. THAT NEED NOT BE LOOKED INTO. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Management, I am told, is chaired by the Prime Minister and it is his voice only while others are silent partners. Then automatically the allegation that FCID is a political instituion becomes true. Secondly many did not vote to throw out the Jara-King for a new lot of Kings to rob left and right. We as public want GOOD GOVERNANCE and GOOD DELIVERY.

The time has come for the FCID to probe the MOTHER OF ALL FRAUDS, the Central Bank bond scam. However, the PM now makes sure that would not be done. Why aren’t we surprised?

Good Governance and D.V. Samarasinghe have
hit the nail on the head.

It has taken two and half years of this so
    called Yaha (Pacha)Palana Government’s villanies
    to come to light.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinha can doctor,
engineer, deviously manipulate and do all the
crooked things. If others did it, that would
have come to light earlier. Now, it is clearly
shown that RW’s integrity is in question – there
are many examples and the one gigantic one is the
Central Bank bond scam. How willfully did he try
to save his cockbird Arjuna Mahendran.

Sirisena is a villager and the Presidency is too
much for him. He does not know that the grass under
his feet is being cut by RW with things like CCEM
Sirisena may think that the acronym stands for a brand
of cement or soap. Both Sirisena and RW are ruining
the country. They blamed Mahinda Rajapaksa for doing
    so and came to power.
