Desperate Sirisena Continues Tantrum – Cancels Cabinet This Morning

Irked by the continuation of Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) session today despite his ‘orders’ to the Speaker and Cabinet to suspend hearings, a desperate Sirisena has abruptly cancelled the Cabinet meeting scheduled for this morning.

Last week when he summoned an emergency Cabinet meeting at his residence, he was adamant that PSC hearings are brought to a stop as he has been advised by his lackey Attorney General Dappula De Livera that the hearings impact several ongoing cases in the Supreme Court linked with easter bombings.

Petty Sirisena also warned that if action is not taken to suspend the PSC, he would resort to boycotting government activities. Seems he followed up on the promise. No alternative date for the cabinet meeting had been informed yet.

Meanwhile the PSC is due to convene this afternoon at 1400.

This man is running this country to the fancy of all his TomS , DickS and HarryS without any consultation with the rest of the parliamentarians. Especially with his ruling team we elected.
He’s destroying the country to the whims of his unelected ( some) and gramma sevakas who makes him to jump so he does.
      He’s actually destroying the country.
There’s Anarchy prevails in the country and in the Parliament.
Is there a way out for this cursed country.

He is beginning to act and sound like Trump, throwing tantrums when he does not get his way, and being vindictive. Very ugly behavior for a leader. Meanwhile it is blunder after blunder.

Don’t compare MS with Trump. Look how Trump is working hard for the Americans. What has MS done for the Sri Lankan so far? He is a gentle cunning person; this kind of people are very dangerous.

Trump is not working hard for anyone other than himself and his ego.
Two things the two presidents have in common is lack of intellect and penchant for constant lying.

Past records of Sirisena clearly indicate his mental instability. This country cannot afford to have such a man as its president. Therefore the parliament has an obligation to protect people from this lunatic.

    Hi
    Hi
Don’t need Zaaharan or Prabaharan these Modayas well enough to ruin the country.
He thinks he is looking after his father’s property, what a mad idiot if he has some decency he would have postponed the wedding for the sake of victims ,but he has Gunarasa in hand he will carry on,
We were fooled by CBK,Ranil,Uncle Sam,JVP,civil society, educated society, think tanks ,betraying Sobitha Thero

I think it is not fair to blame Ranil for bringing MY 3; he just went along with others who wanted a nonpartisan common candidate. I think that this fiasco should stand as a good lesson not to present candidates untested well enough in national politics. Yes, MY 3 has been in politics for a quite some time but always under the leadership of others. Public could see his true colors only after he became the Prez. The damage MY 3 has done to the country is much bigger than the damage caused by Jihadi bombing!
Unfortunately, this is the way democracy works; b’cos voters learn not from theories but from their own mistakes. The irony is that, quite often, voters tend to make even bigger mistakes by turning backward in trying to make corrections to missteps on the march forward. In common language this is referred to as “CHANGING PILLOWS”!

His daughter forewarned about this man’s mentality in her book titled “Janadipathi Thaththa” There she said he burned Paddy field belongs his Farther to get the revenge from him. Now he has set fire to entire Country to get the revenge from UNP Leadership. Somehow Parliament has to stop this Lunatic’s antiques before he further damaged the entire Country at least by bringing impeachment. There is no difference between Zahran and this Lunatic as both are destroyers.

Sirisena either conducts the cabinet meetings regularly or should be charged with the violation of the constitution again. Why won’t the other members of the cabinet meet, whow quorum and get on with the agenda? Action of one man should not allow the country’s business to stop just because he is crazy!

At least we Lankans may have to thank MS for clearing the prisons. Looks like by the end of his term Lankans prisons will be empty. He has pardoned Ganasara, thugs of Senas, now a ex PC chairmen, some underworld mafia and last but not least he is planning to pardon him self (like Trump,s suggestion) before leaving office. We should be able to then lease our prisons to foreigners. (like port and airport)

Sri Lanka’s Problem is the Presidency!
Why do we need a President? We got on very Well without one!

Boy, boy, this man thinks and behaves as if he is a dictator and all powerful – all and everything should work and do the way he wishes. He should keep it top of his mind that he is the President of country and not the boss of mafia out fit. In a democracy where rule of law exists, the powers are distinctly separated among all three organs Imodium governance- executive, legislature and judiciary, and each of them has no right to infer or have any conflict in the affairs of each other for the smooth functioning of the affairs of the nation.

Any reason for the Govt. to remain silent? Are they powerless to do something like impeaching MS. By the time the Govt. comes to its senses, it will be too late. I have a gut feeling that MS is doing all these to get his revenge on RW. He knows that he will not get a second chance to contest for Presidency. When his term is over, He will migrate to China or other country with his family and be safe from prosecution.

    Sirisena must consult psychiatrist.
This man is extremely mentally sick.

This man must be expelled soon from this post.

Punishment for “acting out ” is “TIME OUT”. I guess MS is self disciplining , that may be the reason for his absence. Keep it permanent.

Separation of powers into Executive, Legislative and Judiciary arms of government is too abstract a concept for Sirisena’s simple mind to grasp. The Supreme Court really missed the bus by rejecting the petition asking that his mental state be examined by a psychiatrist. Now see the things that are happening!

Is there any place in Sri Lanka’s constitution or legal system where the president can be impeached and sent home, either by the parliament or the people of the country. By the time the election is held, we may have a looney president running amock.

The Speaker should immediately petition Supreme Court to get its opinion on the Cabinet continuing to function even if the President does not preside but there is quorum to conduct the cabinet meetings. The country has to function. Get on with it Mr. Speaker!

In continuation of my earlier comment: Just imagine if the President is sick, does that mean the Cabinet will not meet? I think President is sick and cannot make proper decisions, hence the Speaker should ask the permission from the Supreme court.

sirisena will try his best to stop the PSC. This fellow sirisena must understand (unfortunately his intelligence is not adequate) the damage he has done to this country. He is certain to dissolve th e parliment or render it disfunctional. But that will lead to a total dismantling of the whole political system. Pepole are ready to get on to the streets. This will happen in the opposit direction from Colombo elite to village and army might take over, which is I think is the best thing for the country at present. Because anybody coming into power through the so called democracy will be blackmailed by Gnanasara and the death fast monk on one hand and by hisbilla and his gang through mulim power. so the best option is a military govt for short term.
