Disgraceful, Shameful, Deplorable Though Acceptable To Gamaralas

By Suranimala Umagiliya

It is clear as daylight that Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members nor Maithripala Sirisena should ever be elected to political office again.

NEVER EVER. What was dished out for the wide world to witness was proof enough. Any nation that has an iota of shame should hound these thugs out of office NOW. Party politics nor partisan feelings towards race or religion should not influence the decision that has to be made by the people of Sri Lanka, if they are to be respected as a civic conscious nation.

The behaviour of these thugs masquerading as peoples representatives brought shame upon a nation that was doing it’s best to repair an image which was dented through several bouts of civic unrest only to be put down by military force. The point to be made is not about the armed forces being able to eliminate the core and the peripheral elements that created unrest but that Sri Lankans who wear their Buddhism proudly displayed for all and sundry to witness could also descend to a level of violence that is unimaginable according to Buddhist scriptures. Sri Lankans have kneaded and massaged Buddhism to suit themselves. The practice is no longer what Buddha preached. Honestly not.

Browse through the widely watched footage of the parliamentary proceedings of the last two sittings. Do watch also what the learned Professor G.L Peiris said in 2015 and what he stands for now. Can he ever be tolerated in parliament? If a learned man such as G.L. Peiris can descend to such low levels, be a chameleon, simply to be in power, have we not descended to such depths to let him continue to be a public representative?

Several members supporting Mahinda Rajapaksa were seen disrupting proceedings by resorting to thuggery. One such thug sat on the Speakers chair whilst two others were seen to be yanking the microphones from the Speakers table. Another poured some liquid on the Speaker’s seat. Some threw chilli powder and the Minister of Christian Affairs and Trade threw a Bible. The damage caused by these acts of vandalism has to be paid for by the people who sent them to parliament. Where is the sense of outrage by the people? One UNP member wielded a dinner knife, probably smuggled in from the canteen. Is this the example to follow or are we barbarians by nature? Why are the people not agitating to get rid of them? Mahanayakes and the Cardinal have kept mum. Shame, shame.

The Speaker was escorted to the chambers by a posse of policemen. Prasanna Ranaweera, Member of parliament supporting Mahinda Rajapaksa slapped a policeman in plain sight of Mahinda. Some threw chilli powder into the eyes of the policemen. The pseudo thugs would not dare touch a policeman outside of parliament lest they be taught a good lesson. All the while Mahinda sat looking on. Why not? They were resorting to thuggery to keep him in office.

If this is but a preview, one would shudder to think of Mahinda back in power. He would arrive with a vengeance, roll up the electoral map, change the Constitution, put Maithripala in jail and groom his pet son Namal to take over.

The less said of Maithripala Sirisena the better. No need to waste powder on him. As stated above, we are collectively a foolish bunch of people. Political parties thrust rogues and loud mouths upon us and we elect them. In time they become bigger rogues and criminals and we return them with a larger majority. Good Buddhists/Christians, are we? Can we not simply mark a cross on a ballot paper using common sense?

Sri Lanka has become ungovernable. It has reached these deplorable levels over a period of time. Mahinda Rajapaksa has fast forwarded it. Mahinda’s rise is propelled by a section of the media not for the love of him but for the hatred towards Ranil. They are collectively guilty of bringing Sri Lanka to her knees.

Not even Buddha can save it now.

The point of view among people are differ . In Sri Lanka there is a rich culture ( for all different things ), when it’s comes to Politics , you have to respect ( fake) the triple jems, and once you come out take over the JUNTA style .our countries policy is to “Let Go” things . Now , if anybody things out side of the BOX , these current situation is no matter to most of the middle class and above. Most of the politicians would not care at all . The main problem is Judiciry is FEAR ( last 70years), as I said it’s our culture to say the words “Hon”, even though they are not Genteman.
Lots of high profile ‘s cases verdict are about to be released, and all MR’s JUNTA’s are queuing to count the iron bars , but RW does not like this to happen ( he does not have any healthy entertainment, as he is born rich, no children etc), he only have this ( political) to live . So this is the RIFT between RW and MY3. MY3 thought RW will stab him (after 2020 August), and he will be targeted by MR and Co. so he came up with a plan to befriend with MR and got the revenge . He does not have any desire to be president again . But he saw there is no way out , as RW wanted to be a Stateman rather than a normal Politician . As long as the judiciry have some sort of REDBULL energy , this will entertained for most of the masses, as this would only effect the low and below income people .

President Sirisena is the head of armed forces including Police service. It is shame that Sirisena and for President Rajapakse ordered their thugs to attack the police who were doing their duty to protect the speaker? Do we need these thugs to control armed forces any more? If the Inspector General of Police is a genuine policeman he should arrest Mr. Sirisena and Mr. Rajapakse for their attack on their employees? The law should applied equally.

Please don’t insult the Gamaralas! They are the people who are much admired by Foreigners! Not the Politicians of the present Government!

RW has to shed his ego & step down from his position, paving the way for Sajith, ASAP. Let us not insult the Gamarala’s….these are rowdy’s no other word! Basic educational qualifications for anyone to enter parliament should be outlined keeping the highest pissible standards in mind..(SL boasts of the highest literacy rate in Asia…this is not reflected at all in the inmates of the House on the Oya! ) in addition to code of conduct.. in & out of parliament. All applicants should be screened by a bench from the Supreme court. The MP’s & Ministers oath should highlight basic principles of truthfulness, honesty, intergrity etc etc. NO ONE including the President should be allowed to change his party after gaining a position thru that party, if he does not agree with the party policies after being elected, he should resign & wait for the next election to contest from the party of his choice. Much has been said about MS & MR & the family of thugs… murderers & morons… The Nation is tired of putting up with this nonsense… enough is enough!

This is the price the whole country is paying for having a man like Ranil and his kind there.

The 19 amendment was only designed to keep the Rajapakses out of power and Ranil safe as PM.

It is a bad piece of law.

As the last local government elections in February 2018 showed the UNP vote base has come down to 27%. So they have no mandate to govern.
At the last No confidence move on Ranil by rebelling UNP MPs he openly bribed them

Another year with Ranil will only mean a deadlocked country. No decent Sri Lankan patriot will cooperate with the Central Bank robber. Public Service will openly defy him.

Don’t let this problem with a bad Constitution and a worse Amendment( 19) confuse the main issue-should the country suffer with Ranil even one more day ?

“The 19 amendment was only designed to keep the Rajapakses out of power and Ranil safe as PM.”

Except one dissenting voice everyone including Mahinda voted for 19A ………. so what’s your point now?

      kolla,
Central Bank funds went elsewhere, not to Ranil.
He only made the mistake of choosing a former member of CB to the post of Governor – but was let down, by that person.
The investigation report says it all.
A red notice is on him by Interpol, not Ranil.
Hence this Ranil bashing by all & sundry is unfair.

What a bunch of hooligans supporting the crooked Rajafuksha. The videos tell the world and the Sri Lankans the depth of thuggery that MR has descended to. Cannot believe that we ever had such a thug as president. He is behind this whole episode as he wants to protect his family from the several court cases that will soon be progressed. So with all the other Baluwansas, horapillas, thug johnstone, vermin aluthgamage and keheliya and GLP, the golden shower king. When one sees the behavior of these thugs and goons in parliament and our great patriot and fake PM MR not taking a stand to rein in the thuggery of these criminals, any iota of respect which MR ever had has been completely wiped out by his encouragement of such crude and crass behavior. The speaker should suspend these thugs from attending parliament, the police must prosecute these thugs for destruction of public property and assault of police and the full costs of the damage recovered from these imbeciles who are a disgrace to the nation. The people should at least now open their eyes and minds and ensure that morons like the MR group in the pohottuwa ae never ever given an opportunity to come into power as one can imagine how the country’s lawlessness and complete lack of rule of law will take precedence over the rights of the citizens. Sri Lanka is finished if these low level, uneducated, riff raff, illiterate goons are voted in. Also time for the decent upright Buddhist monks to now band together and enlighten the masses on the noble precepts of the Lord Buddha which has been desecrated by the Raaajapakshas who are bribing the monks and using the temples to propagate lies, hatred, divisions and disunity. The monks who are making statements in support of MR look anything but monks- these are saffron robed thugs donning the yellow robe to con the masses for filthy lucre from the Rapakshas.

    Suranimala Umagiliya,
“It is clear as daylight that Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members nor Maithripala Sirisena should ever be elected to political office again.”
    ——————–

You can have your own view but do not come to tell this BS to people in this country. Sinhala people consider Mahinda Rajapakse as reincarnated King Gamini Abhaya (aka Dutu Gemunu). Both of them have one thing in common. They defeated Hindian Demal invaders and united Sinhale.
    ———————
President Sirisena made a big blunder in 2015 by contesting as the Common Candidate and clearing the path for Ranil to become the PM under assumption that they will be able to govern the country on ‘Yahapalana’ principles. But when he realized that Ranil threw away the ‘Yahapalana Baby’ and adopted ‘Neo-Liberal Baby’ and destroying the country he had the guts to break the marriage and put a full-stop to actions of the traitor. He also did a great thing by ruining the attempt to pass a Federal Constitution.

MR is in fact MAHENDRA PERCIVAL RAJAPAKSE – He was never Christened as MAHINDA – That is a borrowed name for political popularity.
Please, henceforth refer to him as MAHENDRA!
    Thank You

      Chan,
Name is immaterial, what matters is DEEDS!
MAHENDRA PERCIVAL RAJAPAKSE’s name will be written in Golden Letters in history of Sinhale as a King who defeated Hindian Demala invaders, wiped out their terrorist outfit LTTE and united the country.

Why cannot the speaker follow the usual procedure for a No-confidence motion? He did not follow is because of his rowdy behaviour.

During current tenure, how many No-confidence motions Karu Jayasuriya has not taken up for debate?

Some of them, said to be around 46, were about to lose their pensions if the government fell and elections became necessary. This looming personal loss also may have contributed to their behaviour.
It is said that around 84% of MPs do not have education up to the O Level.
Uneducated persons cannot realise the consequences of their actions.
The constitution needs to be amended to require minimum educational qualifications for law makers – else, how can they understand and approve bills proposed in parliament.

Suranimala Umagiliya puts it mildly that the act, by anyone attempting to usurp a government by extra-Parliamentary means is, ~ “Disgraceful, Shameful, Deplorable Though Acceptable To Gamaralas”.
Of course this include the prodders and instigators.
PS: This is called coup d’état.

I do not think anyone can be more honest and put out the naked truth as this writer has done. This is the curse of Lanka. The politicians , The retarded selfish public and pseudo patriots like Dayan, GLP and Rajeewa. These fakes cunning intellectuals cannot hold a candle to this writer. Unfortunately Lanka,s most politicians have criminal background. The public has no insight or judgement in selecting these crooks. Intellectuals who have sold their soles continue to do the bidding and the crooks are having all the fun. Has any retard who voted for these rogues have taken a moment to think, understand and realize these are the people they had elected in past and what you see now is their true character. (what you witnessed live) They have no respect to law, judiciary, the public or to the country. They are there because of greed, power and money and not because of love and affection to their mother land.

    Umagiliya,
Amen. Well said. But, what now?
The police have NOT arrested anyone for slapping a policeman, for vandalising the Speaker’s microphone connections, for throwing chilly laced liquid at MPs, and behaving like hooligans.
Where are the enforcers of the law?
If an ordinary citizen had done these things, we know what would have happened.
    All other nations are watching.
