GMOA Wants Rajitha Removed, As Chathura Abuses Ministry Vehicles And Medicines For Flood Relief

The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has called on President Maithripala Sirisena to remove Rajitha Senaratne as the Minister of Health.

Rajah Senaratne - Minister of Health

Rajah Senaratne – Minister of Health

Citing reasons for the demand, GMOA Spokesman Dr. Navin De Soysa claimed that the medicines and vehicles belonging to the ministry of health was used and abused by Senaratne’s son, Chathura for flood relief work.

“The minister’s son distributed the medicines among the flood affected people by pasting his stickers on the packs, as if it was his own. But they used the ministry medicine and vehicles for this task,” the GMOA spokesman said.

Soysa urged Sirisena to either bring the ministry under his purview or else to appoint a new qualified person to the position, as there was also increasing interference from Senaratne’s family in ministry decisions.

He also accused Chathura of interfering with ministry work.

Mentally disturbed political offspring are and have been the bane of this nation. Ever since 1948.

From DS to Banda. From Premadasa to Hambantota gangsters.

This incurable cancer has spread to all levels of our political structure. From PS to PC and of course the Diyawanna Mad House.

Even attempts at capturing Sri Lanka’s Presidency have been mounted. Using a sense of endless family entitlement as the sole merit.

Why do you think these brats are there? Never giving up. To save the nation?

Because they have a vsion for Sri Lanka that they burn for? Nope.

Only because we shower these useless, otherwise highly unemployable monkeys with follwing:
    1. impunity from law
    2. Luxurious duty-free 4WD Jeeps with free gas to roam the Island with goons
    3. State housing
    4. Foreign trips via VIP lounge at KIA
    5. Limitless perks & privileges.

Who in their right mind would want to give up those? Chatura Senaratne is no exception.

    Cheers!

GMOA is not a fair body.

That has always gone against if anyone would not put them on the altar.

They feel that they are the only medical professionals graduated from local Unis to know every thing right. Kuhakakama in them make them like that.

Anyways, as it is the case for other countries, those who have not got all merits at Alevels for their own reasons, if they have minimum qualifications should have chance to go to their degree courses: Lack of placements make them hopeless. But if some social sections can afford, they should be given a chance their sons or daughters to follow the course under pay.
There are all high courses being carried out by unis PG instuttes, under huge sums, but no body seem to protest go agains tthem, but only for medical degrees ? Why,

And the sad truth is lanken need thousands of doctors to meet the patient demands. If chances ar enot given, how can any govt do the job in the future ?
Almost every country blessed by Free education, have allowed pvt colleges to function very many areas. They dont face the problem as such in OUr COUNTRY.
But having kept quiet for such long time as the time, Rajakashes did all wrong to the nation, GMOA to react today this way is not comprehensible to anyone.

        Samuel Jayaweera,

My comment is no defense of GMOA hypocrisy.

Their double games and standards are well known to most Sri Lankans.

GMOA is made of none other than a the so called medics who fail to realize their call or vocation to be physicians is to be above all and be that human instrument designed by the Creator to heal. Instead these bastards who are of this most noble profession/vocation are money greedy, hungry selfish arrogant sons of bitches

          ben,
Why are you going on with this tirade now? Did you learn about bigwig offspring activities only through this article?
Now that you have spent a lot of energy on the bigwig offspring, why don’t you speak your mind on the GMOA for a change.

        You may be right.
That partiuclar Secretary of GMOA, not even being able to reveal his advanced levels results to the nation in a previous discussion, proved that they are simply KUHAKAI…. dont want others to become doctors .. they with minimum qualifications. We perfectly, ,now just getting admission to a medical college cant make anyone a doctor. It is a long process he or she has to prove their abilities. So, why not those allow study their courses if they can afford. That is their rights. Besides, they fail to get through, there, they cant go foward with their courses.

Secondly, if these and other secretaries want Rajitha to remove they themselves should have to have done their thing good. GMOA has been very partial to thuggish adminsitration of MR. No matter the patients or students suffered, they only nodded their both ends saying ehei ehei. At the time, non- academic workers went on protests they were against. Lanken medicos in general are suffering from superiority complex. Actaulyl, this has been made by the society in the country. I know myself, that guys came to UK being unable to get on with the admistration returned to lanka. But when asked they would spread totally untruths as to why they returned. They have a self made heirachial system in the country. Nor are they responsible to their duties as should be. All these should turn to good if the prevailing system to achieve the levels as western nations feel it is the standard.

GMOA is good when they oppose MR and ‘not fair’, ‘bad’, ‘cronies’, ‘henchmen of MR’ and all sorts of tags are there when GMOA go against the blunders of “yahapalanaya” and its garrulous minister Rajitha. Way to go uncle Samuel Jayaweera! Stupids like you deserve this worst, good-for-nothing administration that Sri Lanka ever had!

Max, idiots of your kind always kept silent at teh time, MR abused GMOA or any other bodies fo rtheir favour. Today, not being able to see it happening further, you are upset, that is the trtuh.
I did not like Rajitha, but I dont think he would do all harm to Health ministry. But this means not that we respect his son abuses fathers powers. We want indepenent investigation on the issue to clear this. As some good guys keep adding here, whoever he or she is, should be subjected to prove if investigation would clear that Senaratnes son abused powers.

We the foolish people of Sri Lanka have once again allowed the political bandits who are merely the same wolf wearing sheep’s clothing to hood wink us. Sirisena and his thug of a son vs MR and his three hooligans – same “shit” different packaging. Sirisena has no backbone – not a statesman but a puppet that blows with the wind. The faggot on the other hand is senile and knows not what he speaks!

Sri Lanka overall needs a LKY of Singapore fame and let us all invoke the triple gem to raise some one of his calibre to save mother Lanka.

As a volunteer who involved in medical camps throughout the flooded areas which was organized by Chathura Senaratne and others I can confidently say that there was no stickers nor any other campaigning stuff done. All the medicine was measured and accounted correctly. Remaining medicine was returned to the ministry. I think GMOA is trying to fool us again as they always have tried. Shame on them. If u need photographic proof I can provide so all can see there is no violation of any kind.

This admission is sufficient to prove the claim of GMOA.

How come the son of the Minister had privileged access to drugs and resources of the Public. Then every tom dick and harry should be able to take drugs away like that. If public resource are to be made available free like this for relief efforts then there has to be a transparent bidding/application process. Proper parliamentary, govt, cabinet and treasury approval is needed for such an exercise. Being the son of the minister cannot be a qualification to play Santa-clause with public resources/money.

Father was also once thrown out of Parliament for indulging in such unethical govt. tender business.

      These guys have NO SHAME

Nothing but father like son – son like father….!

Yes, these sons of ruling ministers should be tamed by passing a law basta.

Gone were the days, Maharaja s sons ran amok on lanken streets, not respecting anyone. That was taken to fashion and all others too allowed it. Yakada mallata gullo gahuwama, pan malla gana mona kathada ?
But today, journalists make every effort to paint it as if these issues are new to this nation. No, it can take few more months years, until those men of Ministers to behave normal, if there are laws and orders accordingly.
Gone were the days, IRC ministers Son – Keheliya or Kelaniya Vermin the mervin s sons behaved so low but allowed by head of state.

Thanks god, today we dont see things end up in that way, but they still abuse some ways. May be all these can be avoided, if they the cabinet minister themselves would discuss on the issues broadly, today, the discussion freedom is safeguarded, those who have no sons or amok running daughters should join the discussion in gettin the laws passed aginst abusing the power of their fathers in a wrong manner. basta.

It cannot be “medicines” which Chathura distributed – most probably vitamins, diet supplements etc.
No layperson in his right mind would distribute real medicines to persons, even during natural disasters.

His pasting his own stickers on packets of flood relief may be true.
This is a game politicos and supporters play – “taking credit” – for anything.
But, how could he have access to “ministry medicines”?
Such access is possible only to medical practitioners in the health services, or private practitioners.

His using ministry vehicles during a national calamity for relief work should be ok.

Senaratne’s family and son ‘interfering with ministry work/decisions’ needs proof.

I am NOT holding a ‘brief’ for Chathura.

I thought Rajitha was no good from day one, but his risking to go against MR regime was very impressive. He should rather rethink before adding anything to air, becasue any talks being added to air, with half baken contents can mislead entire nation. We have heard him saying, the nature of current FCID or other investigations – but with none of them have been fully investigated, getting them extended month to month, we the people who put a greater faith on cornering Rajakashe goons once the new govt is in power -… are no almost made hopeless.

Doctors Union is right. This guy, his wife and son are becoming a cancer to yahapalanaya.

      5

Doctors Union cant be right… they had been so silent under the guidance of MR administration. People were deaf and blind in that days, even if anything and everything was the agenda. Today, many of GMOA go against not giving justice to those students got entered to that PVT medical college. Any student even if they had no chance to enter govt universities, have every right to do their degrees at a pvt college. There are various pvt colleges in the country, only for the medicine, these guys led by GMOA to go against is pathetic. As was revealed, most got their degrees at state Uni medic faculties are totally against anyone with lower cut off marks but have gone through years long learning process. Western coutries allow those able students regardless of their higher marks scores, to study their medical degrees. It is they who should prove they are able to get through the set of exams and finally become medical professionals. I know from many of the students at Western uNIs, even if they score low marks at their alevels or the equivalent exams, they later succeed their degrees.

This Organization seems to be a tail of Joint Comedians. If Duham get into Health Ministry deals, they are keeping their mouths shut. New King himself described it as the worst ministry in Lankawe. There were lot of news about Chathura’s misbehaviour. This is the only news coming out of his as he is trying to help people, whether legally or not. After all he is a parliamentarian. Chathura is not under 18; is he? How come comedy GMOA doesn’t want to bring a legal action against Chathura but wants Rajitha to resign? Why did they never had New King resigned for Duham, who is not a parliamentarian?

This article fails to mention one other point highlighted by the Doctors’ Union; they are tampering with an otherwise transparent vacancy list and messing things up. Also, the ‘honourable’ minister has unlawfully authorized the transfer of some medical staff from Jaffna to Colombo due to favouration. Rubbish. This cancer should be eradicated.

If Chathura has used Govt medicine and Govt vehicles and then pasted his name on the medicine boxes, then there should be an inquiry held and Chathura should be punished. Should the Minister be punished? Only if the Minister knew ahead of time that Chathura is going to do this.

Yes, an investigation on the issue should be called and settle this can send a message to the nation.

If Minister son was wrong, it should be proved in that investigation.
Be him minisster son or not, due to law bound punishments should be given.

Anyways, minister cant be made responsible for this, if he was unware of the issues.

When 3-over rated and corrupt juveniles got thrown out of the stage, two more similar juveniles have entered the arena and playing havoc: this fellow Chathura is one and the other the President’s silly billy. Cannot their dads give them a box in the ear and explain clearly how they should conduct themselves in public affairs. They bring disrepute to their fathers; thought the father’s themselves have learnt the lesson by observing the public reaction to the 3-previous billy goats!

OMG, the manner you ask learn lession – giving a hard slap on the ears ? sound you have been coming from middle age Man, at least now learn it – no physical harm of any form can learn young ones do good. In Germany, or in the west,Education of a child should be only be through discussions – hope not that you would treat your kids this way – nurture is something that you need to learn even if you are a group leader for a research team. This is the reason why I thought first parents should be educated in order their sons or daughters to learn it from them. Even teachers in gneeral are not upto educate children today – that is the reason why those young chaps of the day become all abusive as no comparable to our days. I never thought that the kind of could come from you. Lajjai lajjai. This is no issue actually, it has been the culture in the country, overnight you would not see things turning to so good. Dr Rajitha is the strongest UNP Minister in Yahapalana Govt.

His position has been made even stronger with the shoe honing of his brilliant kid in to parliament, by none other than the UNP Elder , Batalanda Ranil , the Yahapalana PM.

Plus Dr Rajitha is the sole care taker , guardian mentor and the employment agent for Malabe undergraduates who have more Dosh than the rest.s.

And they are solid true green Elephant off springs, who are the future Elite of our Federal Mahavamsa Nation,

Which will be lead by the likes of Dr Rajitha’s Junior ,Daham Sira,, Chathtu,Dr Mervyn’s kid, (Dr Mervyn I believe has been short listed by Bodhi Sira as the Organizer fo Beliatta to win Hambanatota, which is brilliant strategy ) and the Malabe Graduates to give Yahapalana suckers and their off springs a good time in the 21 Century…

The long time feud between minister of health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and GMOA should be settled amicably at the earliest as health services get neglected due to this feud. On one side, the minster is a qualified medical practitioner and he only handles, Hospitals medicines and ministry admin. including handling of doctors, who belong to a union called GMOA. He is thoroughly competent to handle the health ministry as he knows the subject well and has long experience as minister in charge of health services and on the other side, are the doctors who provide health services to citizens, which is considered a noble job and they are educated men and women. They work long hours to keep the
    people healthy.

Why cannot they sit at a table and sort their problems over a dialogue,
instead of fighting it out through the media, who add more fuel to the
fire. As some one mentioned above,Minister’s son Chathura had no access
to the medical stores, unless he learnt the tactics of forced entry from the previous govt. He may have had access to health supplements
like vitamins, donated by friendly countries and it is natural that he
used his stickers to promote himself and this is even done by USA as they first stamp the bags or sacks or cartoons containing relief
material with “US AID” stamp but if he has diverted the AID to other sources, like the tsunami money ,GMOA has the right to question. There
is no harm in the minster asking his son, with a motive to promote him to politics, to do some social service during a period of calamity.

Well inexcusably Chatura had highjacked Health Ministry vehicles and medications to reach the flood effected needy. He and his Minister father must be dealt with for high handed acts even if the end result was meritorious.

However I wonder when this GMOA Dostara Mudalalis ever reached the needy. Did GMOA members get their shoes muddied in the flood waters. Any evidence of any of the Dostara mudalalis leaving their lucrative non stop channelling services to reach the destitute???

Why do we somehow always end up in this pvt medical college in any health related topic. I heard the gmoa has clearly said they are for standardized pvt medical colleges annd only against SAITM as it is clearly substandardized in many ways.
Anyway the topic hereis about possibly the only transparent vacancy list to exist in this country: the doctor vacancy list, which is now severely hit by political interference. I believe the gmoa has every right to protect it as they have a legitimate right according to the constitution to be stakeholders in formulating that list.
but sadly we somehow end up talking about saitm which is totally unrelated. Its no surprise that politicians have fooled us for nearly 7 decades, and their children and grandchildren will continue to fool us. Bless us all!

If these GMOA guys were in Singapore, Dubai or Malaysia, by now all would be locked up.Those people wouldn’t tolerate these kind of antics of their professionals.

In my close and wider circles I know many doctors who really are disgusted of GMOA. They say these top nuts of GMOA are driving their noble profession to the gutters. They say, they are helpless, and due to GMOA, the way people look at them make them feel ashamed of themselves.

Instead of minding their business, they are poking their hands to everything. They are very greedy, mean and jealous lot who don’t want another man to raise his head. The public is day by day getting disgusted of them, very soon they would throw stones at them. This keeping the public ransom owing to their profession wouldn’t last long. In no other country doctors behave like GMOA.

If you have the proof that the minister’s son has taken the government medicines, go make a complain to the police or sue him in the courts, instead of making big issue out of it. The law enforcement agencies and courts would do their job. So much is the brains of GMOA. They are really shame to the country, and very uncivilized in clean suit. The ordinary man on the street has good and better behavior than these useless GMOA doctors. They have small and narrow mind. I for one, wouldn’t give even water when they are struggling to die for their behavior make all sick of them. They lost all the good respect the public had for them, by their third grade behavior. Period.

They should go and see how the doctors and other medical professionals treat the patients in countries like – Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India etc. In these countries medical tourism is a billion dollar industry. These guys only know how to suck the our poor patients. It is the high time for the public to raise up and teach good lessons for these blood sucking leeches.

We have so many other professional lawyers, accounts, engineers, teachers etc. They are not acting bad ways like these GMOA RASDIAYATHUKARAYAS. These guys have big shitty heads, and think they are high and mighty, striking even for the dropping of a hat and a needle for flimsy reasons.

People are shoulder to shoulder with the government, enough is enough, it should draw a line some where, and firmly deal with them. They don’t have any right to put the public into misery. Government should sue them for putting the poor patients in the harms way and lock up the GMOA for good.
