The Galle Magistrate today ordered the CID to inspect the bank accounts of former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in relation to the ongoing case of the Avant Garde Floating Armoury.

Orders were also given by the Galle Magistrate to investigate Gotabaya’s bank accounts along with the bank accounts of Former Additional Secretary of the Defence Ministry DMS Jayarathne and the Avant Garde Maritime Services Directors as well as per a request made by the CID in order to investigation whether any violations of the money laundering act have taken place.
The Magistrate also ordered the suspension of foreign travel for Jayarathne.
The government has come under serious criticism by various parties over the handling of the floating armoury controversy. Allegations have been leveled at the Public Order Minister John Amaratunga on blocking the effective enforcement of the law against those involved with the issue.

I am more worried about justice for extra-judicial killings, disappearances, kidnappings & beatings.
Start with cold blooded massacre at Welikada prison. Behind high walls, in the center of Colombo city. Who gave the order? Why is it taking so much time? Where are the killers in uniform who executed such brutality?

It is not going to be easy to find the ill gotten loot. They are a devious bunch and would have hidden it in ways it would not be found easily.
