Violating the rules and regulations of the very purpose of the creation of the independent Police Commission, the Inspector General of Police was caught red handed on television speaking on his mobile phone and addressing a phone caller by the name of ‘Sir’, confirming that he had instructed the Financial Crimes Investigations Chief to not arrest a particular “Nilame”. However Anura Kumara Dissanayake bringing this issue up in parliament said that the Basnayake Nilame refered to was none other than the current Devundara Vishnu Dewale incumbent Dishan Wikramaratne Gunasekara who is presently being investigated by the Financial Crime Division for fraud and the caller being none other than the Minister of Minister of Law & Order, Sagala Ratnayake.
