It’s Not “Airy-Fairy” Stuff, Stupid

By Emil van der Poorten –

Emil van der Poorten

To complete what would have been a title inviting editorial censure it would have been completed thus “….- there are practical implication to not adhering to a code of morality, ethics and principles in governance.” Now, that should provide an appropriate jumping-off point for what follows!

In case any reader of what I have written has any doubt, let me say, one more time, that the effective conduct of the state requires that it be done within the lines of ethical, moral and principled conduct.

Nothing less.

It is not just a question of the greater good of the greater number, it is a simple question of the rules within which the business of government needs to be conducted.

The damage that the manner in which governance of this country is conducted has caused untold misery to millions of our countrymen. This is bad enough, but when you factor in the disruption caused in terms of the day-to-day conduct of the country’s affairs and the impact of that state of affairs on every Banda and Jayanthi in this country in the matter of their day to day existence, the cost becomes truly immeasurable.

Take the most recent high-profile sexual assault at a location in the south of Sri Lanka that appears to have a well-deserved reputation for such acts perpetrated against those who are expected to deliver the goods in the matter of Sri Lanka’s economic re-birth – tourists.

What really makes that kind of garbage unbelievable is the fact that, during the reign of the Rajapaksa mafia, one of their major acolytes raped a European woman and proceeded to shoot dead her partner for having the temerity to intervene on her behalf. The unbelievable efforts at a cover-up on the part of the powers that were in order to protect the criminal involved because he was a part of their local political machinery is a matter of record. That even the intervention, half-hearted though it might have been, of the British government didn’t succeed in ensuring that justice was done because the local mafia played the old game of stymieing and delaying the process interminably. Justice delayed was justice denied as the old chestnut had it.

Now, this whiter than white bunch (no pun intended) that rule our lives, makes a half-hearted effort to ensure that justice is done subsequent to an incident at Mirissa. The functionary with authority in that particular area, sought to get to the root of the problem by weeding out the illegal, unlicensed and unauthorized hooch joints that were very well known as the dens of iniquity from which the violent hoodlums operated.

One English-language newspaper carried a major story to the effect that the women who were sexually assaulted “were asking for it” because they sought to pick up (exotic) local sexual partners. This generalization is one that has been used for years by those who justified rapes on the grounds that the victims were wearing short skirts and/or blouses displaying an unacceptable level of cleavage has, a long time ago (in less enlightened jurisdictions than one where religiosity reigns supreme), been consigned to the garbage dump to which they belong.  Blaming the victim for provoking the crime is longer “on” even in this land of galloping self-righteousness.

What really took the cake, though was the fact that the President of Sri Lanka intervened to overrule the Minister of Tourism, a senior bureaucrat of whose Ministry was seeking to remove the hooch-joints where the problems were being brewed.  The response of the Minister of Tourism, typical of senior Cabinet members without jello for backbones was that he could do nothing since it was a diktat “from above” and he had no authority to overrule it. There are people much younger than me who remember when a Minister faced with such a thing would have done the honourable thing and RESIGNED. Not this ambulatory tent posing as a senior member of Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Cabinet! Not in the least bit surprising, but still totally unacceptable.

More than a footnote to this story was the report that a member of cabinet was recorded on the premises where the crime occurred, among other things, dancing the night away, and that he was responsible for influencing the President of this land that loudly proclaims its adherence to all that is good in the practice of Buddhism, to stop a perfectly legitimate and urgently-required action from proceeding.

Apart from maintaining the dignity of this nation in the matter of governance, the action cannot but have a devastating effect on a country seeking to have tourism pull it away from the brink of financial disaster.

How crass and stupid can you get when the Head of State intervenes to prevent the removal of the nests from which the tourist-raping vipers emerge?

There is also a report of video footage of the member of Cabinet who intervened on behalf of those operating illegal hooch dens, tripping the light fantastic (and doing goodness knows what else) on the same premises on the same night that the crime occurred. I expect that this had no connection to the reversal of a very urgent action by a responsible senior government servant!

Ah, but then, this is a President who intervened when Mangala Samaraweera sought to bring Sri Lankan women into the 20th Century, admittedly at least a hundred years behind, by permitting them to purchase alcoholic beverages that their male counterparts had always been able to do!

Backward enough for you? Take a deep breath because the most recent news is that it is on the watch of the same President who intervened to stop women from buying booze that his daughter was issued a licence to sell alcoholic beverages!

Whatever the head of state and his minions do is not going to shake the foundations of the civilized world.  However, the results of their recent determinations, at the most simplistic level, cannot advance the reputation of Sri Lanka as a tourist destination.  And don’t give me that b.s. about only “white”” Europeans being sensitive to the dangers of sexual assault in a foreign clime. Chinese and Indian women don’t welcome the attention of sexual predators any more than their “white” sisters from other parts of the world.

Are we, as a nation which never seems to tire of talking about its pristine civilization, so stupid that we do not realize what impact this kind of “governance” will have on the financial well-being of this nation, one increasingly dependent on the goodwill of those likely to visit it? Is there no one in this self-righteous Yahapalanaya government that realizes that there has to be a return to considerations of ethics, principles and morality of some description if the very (economic) survival of this country is to be assured?

Emil, Hypocrisy has a new meaning in Lanka especially with MS, A tourist was put in prison for a tattoo ( of course ended up paying hefty compensation),leaders offended by the behavior of spectators in a musical concert(after all they paid for the entrance ticket not like the politicians ), artist being refused entry into country because they do not abide by our culture (is there one???), close all outlets serving alcohol or certain food during auspicious days (which out number the normal days), people are not allowed to practice their religion/culture because it offends some, the list goes on and on. The reality is murderers, rapist, looters are free to walk around and quite a lot of them have taken up the space in the parliament.I still remember where a politician molested a family member of a service personal in a beach front, who could only watch and do nothing about it.If not for the hospitality of some rural public , tourism would have been a past sector.

      Chiv:
The public might be interested to know the identity of the man who assaulted the son of a senior police officer on the beach at Passikudah for asking that he not take pictures of his wife/girlfriend wearing a swim suit. I do recall the father of the miscreant having hung around the Kalkudah/Valaichenai police station until the matter had been “shaped.” Perhaps, some reader will be able to supply the full details of this episode!

You are wasting your time. The policeman who was in-charge of the Pasikudah inquiry was made the head of the new financial corruption investigation unit (FCID). Every one is happy! Right?

        Dear EmvP,

You seem to have researched the incident adequately, but I only had to google to get the story in quite graphic detail:

I hadn’t heard the story until after My3 came forward to contest the Presidency. What ought to worry the government is that I now proclaim DISGUST at the Mirissa story, although I looked for ways of extenuating My3’s “shaping” on the grounds that a father would do it, that My3 visited the injured man, and that he would privately have chastised his son, etc.

Similarly, with Chathurika and her hotel. In the context, I told myself that she was not running a tavern where the only activity was drinking.

By the way, I’m a teetotaller myself.

This was liquor licence was for a Tourist Hotel – a necessary appendage. In other words, I was making every excuse possible. So much were people like us committed to the “Rainbow Revolution”.

Truly, cannot understand why an head of state always take headless decisions, and why he and his predecessor support locals to prey on foreign lasses. From the beginning itself Head of state was embroiled with brassier, then, banning the liquor purchasing, etc., just reminds as a parallel to Sargent Nallathamby.

“Truly, cannot understand why an head of state always take headless decisions”.

This is because he knows that he got into office by accident and the Rajapaksa curse. When a person knows that he is incompetent he tries to compensate by over doing, rushing things and be every bodies bitch which never works.

“Are we, as a nation which never seems to tire of talking about its pristine civilization”

I think you are missing the point.
The stupid voters are right in talking about their hydraulic civilization which Karl A. Wittfogel rightly identified/called as Oriental Despotism.

When the stupid voters identify themselves as the product of gestated hydraulic civilisation what they consciously or unconsciously believe themselves being the stupid children of Oriental Despotism. It is the conditioned mind of the stupid voters.

Where is the logic in appointing scientifically selected cabinets and ministers when decisions they take are overturned by the head of state. One wonders whether the head of state acts on his own or is guided by a bunch of good for nothing advisors.

Emil, ”ethical, moral and principled conduct” does not exist in SL vocabulary, even if it does, it’s just words with no meaning because I don’t think such things are taught in schools anymore, when the objective of the entire education system is to coach students to pass exams & not necessarily to prepare them for a life ahead in the world as good citizens. We are proud of our glorious past based on the writings of an ancient monk, it’s authenticity is unchallenged, & our own interpretation of the teachings of Buddha, which seems to have integrated Buddhism & the Sinhala race & the Sinhalese as the chosen saviours of Buddhism. Politicians since SWRD have exploited the religious & racial sentiments on gullible people & today, we find our selves in this sorry state with yobs governing the country.

Sirsena has probably a basic education & is totally unsuitable as a head of state as amply demonstrated by his stupid & contradictory statements, bungling & dithering, nepotism, lacking in vision & no principals at all. I am sure, to Sirisena & his equally uneducated predecessors, principals do not exist & as head of state, truly believes has the right to intervene in any matter as seen fit. Sadly, even prestigious schools, such as, Royal college, have failed to teach integrity, when even the so called educated are no better than the less educated. For these politicians, it’s survival in parliament & to hell with any thing else. The day SL has a leader who has guts to abolish unreasonable perks of parliamentarians, maybe we will have honest & sincere politicians but I am sure we will see pigs flying when if it happens.

You are right Emil. Our young Sri Lankan boys are being exploited by devious sex-hungry old western men and women. They have never had a culture and animal-like behaviour is nothing new to human scum originating from Europe. They have wealth built out of stealing ours through colonialism and they come back to the same countries these days to fulfil their weird sexual desires. So occassionally those here, affected by the beach culture and the money they offer, overstep the mark. Sri Lankan passport holders of pale skin should think of standing at a few popular beaches and chasing these parasites away.. That will solve the problem.

Sri lanka lost lost oral, Ethical and all those conducts the day Portueguse took over the country. IT worsened through 1948 until today. English knowledge alone is not enough to write a reaonsable article with facts and not what one think as facts, and a poor analysis and a loose canon accusations.

Certain facts given by Mr. pooten is correct. European or western women likes booze, bikini, beech culture, beech ball, sex and parties. I hear some Kalu suddha women of Srilanka who comes the west also behaves the same way. But, I would like to ask you where did you find these Indian and chinese women who behaved the same way and wanted HPV vaccines because of their behaviour.

    • 3
      0

No they don’t and do not generalise . They all do not booze and wear bikinis only when they at a beach, dressing a bikini or being topless is nota sexual act to them. The only people who oogle at them on the western beaches are newly arrived Indian men and Muslim men, others hardly bother to look at them. Just like Japanese men and women bath naked together in public swimming pools. otherwise most of them dress conservatively at work and outside and very few attend sex parties or other nonsense. You find women and men with loose moral everywhere. not just in the west. Just because they are more free and friendly on the surface , does not mean they want sex or anything else from you. This is what most idiotic Sri Lankan, Indian, Middle Eastern and men think , just because most of them lock up their women folk , treat them like chattels and make them dress like Ninja turtles. In the west if try to make inappropriate advances to a man or woman at work or any other place or try to take photos of them without their consent you will be charged. Most men here take a genuine act of being kind friendly by a western woman who is dressed in a bikini to get a tan or at a dance floor and has paid all this hard earned money to come for a nice holiday ,as some act of looseness and a call for sex.

It is no point of criticizing events unless the need was to criticize certain individuals and to gain advantage. Criticize the system. John Amaratunga is a senior minister who is filthy rich, he like chicks, viagra and to live his own way. that I heard. IF it happened in alberta, the whole govt would have resigned. You know it.

The main reason why one chooses politics is NOT to stay in the same rung of the socio-economic ladder.
By throwing the advice to the birds, the politicians get filthy rich while we, the silent majority, become poorer and pooer. (The pooer is not a spelling mistake!)

Emil, nice to see an article from you. I think I have run out of sighs, in the last two and half years. Just when you feel, there is some light at the end of the tunnel, the acolytes and idiots who run amok in the Yahapalanaya camp make their true colors show up!

Politics is the art of the possible. At least the Greek believed it to be so.

MS and RW have got into the game of one-upmanship on a full-time basis, that they have forgotten their primary responsibility of governance.

MS has been mislead to believe that with the JO rump, he can consolidate the SLFP and become a viable alternative to the UNP. RW in his many moments of intellectual fancy, feels his band of thieves are better than anyone else’s, as long as he can have the TNA and SLMC in his corner.

Someday soon, the people of Sri Lanka will wake up and from their midst will arrive a third force of educated, committed and UNSELFISH leaders who will inspire a change of monumental proportions, we have only dreamt about, since 1948!

That day will come! Whether it happens in our life times is the question.

Forget this Mirissa affair, Now the President has no time to listen all what you say. Today, Thursday the President’s Chief of Staff and the Chairman of the Timber Corporation were arrested while accepting a BRIBE of Rs. 20 million from an Indian in the parking lot at Taj Samudra Hotel. He, the President will have to take action against those officers who arrested these two “Big Boys” without “Notice” to him and obtaining “Approval”. This is much BIGGER than “Mirissa”.

      Dear Douglas,
      .
Yes, I’ve checked and this story appears in over twenty websites, worldwide. Of course they had to emanate from Sri Lanka, so may I give links to two?
      .
      http://www.ft.lk/front-page/President-s-Chief-of-Staff-arrested-for-Rs–20-m-bribe/44-654477
      .
That is from the Times Group. This is from Lake House:
      .
      http://www.dailynews.lk/2018/05/04/local/150048/two-senior-officials-bribery-net
      .
Corruption has to be eliminated, and it looks an “open-and-shut case.”
      .
However, I think it is my duty say this once, and may be say no more: it surprised and saddened me, because I have met Dr I.H.K. Mahanama twice, and my experience was different. All was above board. I thought him wonderful, but, of course, that can have little bearing on this matter.
      .
When I met the Land Commissioner-General on the 22nd of July 2015, having heard, via a telephone call to his office, that my file had reached him, this impersonal officer, R.P.R. Rajapaksa, (not from the political family, as far as I know) with an inscrutable face told me the file had to now go to the Secretary (“no, not the Minister”, he also told me). I then met the Sectional Assistant Commissioner and asked her what the name of the Secretary was, and, of course, I was told that it was Dr Mahanama.

    • 1
      0

      Continuing . . .
      .
I met Dr Mahanama. The lady Land Commissioner, Mrs Wijegunewardena, and two others were with him. He called for the file, and I had to wait outside. Well, after about an hour I was called in and told that an order had been made and that I may actually be able to get a letter to that effect by evening.
      .
I found that he had cut through all the red tape and made a clear order. I didn’t try to meet such a busy man again that year, but I sent him a personal letter by registered post, thanking him.
      .
In December 2017, having got stuck in some bottle neck, and hearing that Dr Mahanama was not busy, I went in and met him for nothing more than two minutes. He remembered me, and the letter I had written him. There was no need for any more intervention from him, and my meeting him had been merely to thank him.
      .
This land in question is a 99 year lease land where my family have been in continuous legal residence since 1951. So, there really was no issue, but when this man is in such a soup, I think that I must report this in at least one place.
      .
As for the reported incident, I can only say that there has to be thorough and unbiased investigation; I only hope that ALL matters are so investigated.

      Douglas,

A Rs. 20M bribe is chicken feed compared to the Rs 15 Billion loss that comes with a 10% fall in tourist numbers.

Sri Lanka is quickly earning a reputation for sex-starved men who have now developed enough bravado to graduate from groping and rubbing up local women to trying it on the tourist. After all, local women might have friends and family that might call round and torch your home, whereas foreign women are here today, gone tomorrow.

Our beleaguered President has probably been advised by nearest and dearest who see nothing wrong in a bit of ‘harmless’ sexual perversion (vide the 2014 Trinco saga).

Clearly, none of the many schools Sirisena attended taught their students morals and principles. Our President rules by the heart (and what might be acceptable to Jayanthi). Oh, that and whether any of his supporters will be inconvenienced.

The future looks very grim for decent Sri Lankans.

Does Sillysena need this Small Arms fire, after copping that Missile attack from Dr Ranil’s Bribery sleuths?.
Poor Silly busted his ass for the last 3 months, trying to help Mr Poorten’s mate Dr Ranil install the first ever Scientific Bunch of Ministers to give us Turbo charged Yahapalanaya.
After all that hard work ,It is unfair to pick on him when he is trying to shore up the Wahabi base of his paraplegic SLFP.
Wonder whether that Scientific Minister Mallika had anything to do with the Hindian who was trying to buy our public land in Kantale at a Bargain Basement price.
Because as I understand Mallika has to tick off all FDIs only after thorough Scienitfic analysis under Dr Ranil & Silly’s new Scientific Yahapalanaya..

        Dear Native,
When I saw the Vellala Kid Abraham with the JVP ADK , Dr Ranil’s little pet elephant at Srikotha., I thought, what the F***…
Then I realized this is Symbiosis,
This is real Scientific Yahapalna Politics mate, unlike DR Ranil and buddy Silly’s Science of picking nincompoop MPS to cover up and protect the crooks in their Yahapalana Cabinet.., hoping to dupe the voters at the next Election.

After taking that LKR 25 Lakhs from Dr Ranil , and started driving the Vellala donated old Sampathar’s Luxury set of wheels , JVP ADK is devalued currency in the South now
And the Mahanayak’s even have issued a Fatwa, after JVP ADK paid back to Vella TNA by trying to bring his 20 A Amendment through the back door to castrate Sillysena.
And clear the way for Dr Ranil to divide the Nation and give Sampathar the Homeland as promised in the latest 10 point MOU in return for help to defeat the NCM.
So where else can JVP ADK wear his Red Shirt and walk freely without getting booed by their own old JVP supporters.
But the most interesting bit is why Vellala Party send their young Gun Abraham to walk with the JVP ADK in a Red Shirt?..
I know the Vellalas from Colombo now have a tough time in Jaffna suburbs, after the FEB 10 Elections when poor Jaffna residents gave them the ass.
And the Dalit party blokes scored heavily there.
        What do you reckon mate?
Is this a ploy to pretend that the Vellala Party now have a Dalit Faction?.
Do the Jaffna poor know about JVP ADK receiving LKR 25 Lakhs from Dr Ranil and the old Luxury BMW from Sampathar..
And JVP ADK is working O/T to get the Vellala Party TNA, the total control of the North?.

          You are talking nonsense.
Since the end of the war ADK is trying hard to break into Northern Market. It was in 2009 or 2010 AKD was attacked in Jaffna by Gota’s boys, forcing him and his comrades seeking refuge in near by houses.

“And clear the way for Dr Ranil to divide the Nation and give Sampathar the Homeland as promised in the latest 10 point MOU in return for help to defeat the NCM.”

“And JVP ADK is working O/T to get the Vellala Party TNA, the total control of the North?.”

        Emil Aiyya,
Glad to hear that you are now focusing on Thadi Manikes.
With your Galagedara Walauwa and the Ontario pension, Life must be pretty cosy even under Yahapalaya.
But my people in the South are doing it tough mate,
Yahpalana PH Inspectors whom Dr Ranil and Silly sent to check the Vesak Dansalas were beaten up and chased away by the poor, who were enjoying their free issue Dunthel Bath and Seeni Sambol with potato curry..
They couldn’t give a shit about the food handling Standards where Dr Ranil and his Boys dine every night after giving us Yahapalanaya.
They only wanted a free meal at least on Buddha’s Birthday.
That is how desperate they are, mate.
Did you see the queue at that Money Dansala close to your neck of the wood I think.
        It was a Mile Long
And the poor were getting only 100 Bux each from that Provincial Politikka’s Charity Trust.
I don’t think your Yahapalana heavies who hang out at Srikotha would even bother picking up a 100Bux note if it dropped on the floor.
BTW do you know the face value of those Peacock Notes which the Srikotha Treasury had handed out to their loyal MPs as Santhosams for helping Dr Ranil to defeat that NCM?…………..

Watch out for the ‘Lone Ranger’ uncle. He is not really ‘lone’, we are unable to trace his moves. As you know, he has struck before (poor me!) and he could strike at will. So be careful.

He looks very much like a pedo himself. Take a 2nd look at that picture and check those eyes. They looks real pedo material to me.

When I see that pic it reminds me of an incident in Trinco way back in the late 80s. Two German tourists were said to be abusing Tamil boys at the Trinco beach. There was no Police in the entire division because of the terrorist situation. We in the Army had to go to investigate. When we went we found the two German tourists inside a cabana. We slapped the 4 Tamil boys and chased them. One of the Germans looked just like the one in this Picture (Poot). We took their own vaseline and sodmomized both the tourists and took their Marks. They had about 400 Deutsch Marks with them. We split it amongst us.

      Sumane,
Wonder whether that Scientific Minister Mallika had anything to do with the Hindian who was trying to buy our public land in Kantale at a Bargain Basement price.

I understand that land is already bought and this bribe is for Machinery & tools. Probably he is looking for import license, if I understand it; otherwise I am not aware of if factory machines can be made in Lankawe. Certainly here is some bid heads have nodded. But cutting small heads on the altar of sacrifice is the formal way of Lankawe’s protection mechanism. Just like Mahendran was given a one year contract, this guy was bought in three months ago. Apparently Modi has an eye on New King. Yet here Modi ran at higher risk. That means more, Indian contracts can be going to dustbin.

Another, an Old Chestnut, related to India also exists. One, only non-White elephant, but highly profit making project Old King did at his last days was renewing the Colombo-KKS rail Road. Because he did not benefit on that he cancelled all other contracts he wanted with India. Sampur Project is now, about 10 years old. India wanted to lay high way from East to Mannar, East to Jaffna and East Colombo. India might have been eying by this system to use Trico instead of China managed Hangbangtota and Colombo Ports. India thought it could go before the China’s Northern Highway Project, because had many stages, particularly going beyond Vavunia had doubtful ends. So India though, this could be another high traffic, profit making project. But, New King and Ranil used Japan to delayed the Trinco works by India. Interesting development today is, Highway Transportation minister, Kabir Hashim, announced that new connections to East other parts is going to be developed. Though, so far, any proof exiting not known, may be Modi’s gun too can shoot.

    KASmaalam K A Sumanasekera

    You are talking nonsense.
Since the end of the war ADK is trying hard to break into Northern Market. It was in 2009 or 2010 AKD was attacked in Jaffna by Gota’s boys, forcing him and his comrades seeking refuge in near by houses.

“And clear the way for Dr Ranil to divide the Nation and give Sampathar the Homeland as promised in the latest 10 point MOU in return for help to defeat the NCM.”

“And JVP ADK is working O/T to get the Vellala Party TNA, the total control of the North?.”

Find out if Hindians are ready to accept a total control over North East.

    Mally,
You are correct, Hindians have bought the land.
Only God knows how many acres were handed over.
This Santhosam bribe was only for the old steel.
Just imagine how much would have been the Santhosam for the land.
It is a national Shame to sell these Lands to Hindians for next to nothing.
I have been to the Sugar Cane plantation. Did a trip to one of the Army Camps too, Beautiful Country mate,
Imagine having a little Holiday Pad there over looking the Tank.
The Wild Life, Wild Boar for the Bite with even Yahapalana Mendis Special.
How come the Vellalas let this bloody rouges to sell these National Assets to Hindians,
Just imagine when Mallik and his partner Dr Ranil’s ETCA kicks in.
Imagine all the Dalits from India settling in these natural wilderness.
And their Brahamin bosses building Golf Courses to bring their mates over for holidays.
Do your Vellala mates in Sampathar’s Party play Golf?….

      Shiromani,

You don’t need to entertain this cockroach. In the 60s when Sirimavo got her anti-lansi work started she should have got the Army’s help. The SLA would have made sure the future generations of Sri Lanka didn’t have to deal with this parasite.

After reading about the CT post about new Lake House and Alles ‘journalistic’ appointments, it was interesting to find this same article on today’s The Sunday Leader, run (more like walked) by the apartment thief Ravi Karunanayake. It will be interesting to find out whether the near bankrupt ‘Leader’ is also paying those who stoop low enough to write for them. Though any low action by colonial thieves should not surprise us, it will be interesting to hear from the producer of the crap column. It has long been known that Pooten’s corrupt hypocrisy has no limits.

Pooton seems unusually quiet. He needs to find a cure for old ‘pu_a moottu’ problem. Can he summon some ‘wit’ from dead witty relatives like R. L. Brohier or the English dim-wit expert on our tanks, A. R. Leach?

One thing that “distinguishes” all of you, assuming the identity varies from one to the next pseudonym, is the monumental idiocy displayed.
Sri Lanka being Sri Lanka, it wouldn’t surprise me to see a hall of fame for half-wits (dim wits?) like you established somewhere on the Diyawanna.

So, if you don’t like SL so much get the F out and go back to Holland. You are not welcome anyway. Too bad, you fellas didn’t put up a fight when Sirimavo kicked your rear-ends. If you did put up a fight we could finished you filthy lot in a trice.
