JVP Wants President To Step Down

JVP Parliamentarian Biman Ratnayake said that President Maithripala Sirisena should resign on account of failure to effectively spend funds allocated from the last budget.

Speaking during the Committee Stage Debate on Budget 2018, Ratnayake pointed out the Ministry of National Integration & Reconciliation, which comes under the purview of Sirisena had been allocated Rs 3,532 million but only 9% was spent (Rs 325 million) as of September 30.

He also pointed out that the Ministry of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs, which was granted Rs 19,782 million had returned Rs 10,167 million, as such barely half the allocation had been used. He therefore demanded the resignation of the relevant ministers. D.M. Swaminathan is the Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs while M.L.A.M. Hizbulla is the state minister.

JVP has lost the plot. They should be calling for impeachment of Bondscam Ranil and with his corrupt stooges network, Ravi K, and Swaminathan.

SIra is nowhere near as corrupt at Ranil!

Everyone keeps saying “Bondscam” but where is the scam? What was done was what has been happening at least since 2005.
Unless there is something in the report that is to be out today. I don’t think there is enough substance for the AG to file charges. Even if he does it due to political pressure winning the case will be altogether a different ball game.

Idiots……… what scams and corrupt practices thaat have been happening since 2005 were “kosher”, were they? Prosecute the lot, 2005 onwards, or even periods before, all the politician and public servant traitors and mega robbers and looters of public assets! People like Burt may be connected with these scams for them to think that one scam could be offset by another scam. Shit, where were you lot born? In shit pits?

Dogs bark but the caravan moves on! What happened through out could be unethical but unethical action in itself does make it illegal.

The govt has wasted money for months with commissions and practically come-up with nothing.

Government may be wasting time because there are bitches like burts and ranils manipulating the reins. The same scammers that have their hands in the till, the baskets! They would much rather abandon everything, not make enquiries and investigations so that they could conveniently enjoy the fruits of their evil deeds. I hope if nothing else works, Gods will send their thunderbolts on their heads. There are millions of law abiding citizens wishing the same as they have no other form of redress to the evil deeds of our own fake leaders that are lining up their nests.

Burt when was “passing insider information” became legal. When was a finance minister instructing their subordinate fund holders to in0cur a loss considered to be legal. Obviously you have not been to school, or if you have been to one, then it must be the Royal College academy of future robbers and scavengers.

Sirisena cannot cope with Political stress, when ever he’s pushed he runs to the old Medamulana thief to consult and invites him and his cronies to join him .
What sort of a nut is he??
We discarded that lot , he the President loves to eat Appa and dance with them still.
That’s how he gave the plum positions to the crooks from the last regime.
There are real culprit Ministers awaiting for the opportunity to push off the President from his position and replace all the past crooks.
President is really playing a double dangerous game .
How can we trust any one.

I think that multinationals may be behind this campaign of tarnishing MS as spineless and deranged to be thrown out of power, for his stand against Milo.

      • 3
        3

And of course you would be totally against that move from the multinationals as the Gamarala will do nothing to rope in the Tamil diaspora who funded the terrorists to rob, rape, and kill innocent civilians in the South. Eh?

        • 2
          2

The war over eight years ago to date there has been no complain by the “innocent civilians” of LTTE robbing, raping and killing them.

It is understood many died in their actions in the south but civilians seem to understand that LTTE had no option, they were only retaliating for state action.

        Dear Gnani,

I find this a welcome change of attitude on your part, on three or four issues. Thanks, please remain consistent.

Few of us are consistently courageous. I feel that its like that with Maithri, too. Even I, as a Sinhalese, feel that possible armed forces excesses have at the very least to be investigated. I’m disappointed that Maithri is not doing that.

JVP, please don’t act like fools… Ravi K’s resignation is the first time in SL history.. again it is not real resignation… Resignation is a brave act, accepting own faults…. Does any SL political leader has bravery to accept their faults? Do we general SBs accept our faults? Is it Sinhalese Buddhist culture that we always put the blame on others. we are great , brave, intellectual…bla bla bla..
Does anybody truely expect SL president resign from the power of receiving “Yes Sir” , “Your excellency” even so called great artists kneel down horizontally in front of you ?? (just remember the image of our great artist Malini Fonseka kneeling almost horizontally in front of MR when he was going to run away at 5am in the morning after the election
Finally do we SBs know the meaning of RESIGNATION??? Cowards never resign.. can’t resign….

      Dear JVP,

That is what happens when you have a Gamarala as the President.

      You need a Rata Rala.

I think JVP is talking for the Gallery. Reconciliation is a political word which is wanted by India and Tamils. Rishad Bathiuddin has cleared Catchment area forests of wilpattu and has resettled a population of muslims a few times larger than the ones who were expelled. that includes, I hear foreign muslims too from other countries. why JVP is silent. Why JVP is silent about Bond Scam Ranil, and their numerous UNP corruption activities which newspapers are not talking about, FCID never intend to investigate other UNP corruption. JVP is called an affiliated party of UNP. Why is that ?

Too bad the portfolios were not given to Sinhala Buddhist cronies of the Rajapaksa’s. They would have spent even less on the projects, pocketed the rest and balanced the books.

Bad! Bad! Sirisena. He should have at least got some advice from the Rajapaksa family.

You are right Burt Sinhala Buddhists have no future under Sirisena govt.

Another way of saying the same thing is to say that the President did not spend 91% of what he was allocated, and that remains as public money.

    *

Of course I see that point made by the JVP Member of Parliament. Maithri was not active enough to think of a way of spending the money allocated to him. However, better than squandering the money is keeping it unspent.

    *

For me, the question remains: for whom should I vote at the next elections?

Maithri S. is there best of the credible politicians we have.

      *

I am following the story of the purchase of the ship from Russia, and the brother’s appointment to Telecom ages ago, but keep a relatively open mind on those.

      *

Please discuss and comment, but please, Percy, respect his background. I’m happy that it is farming. Say things like that – expect to import food. Brother Dudley’s monopoly can be criticised.

      *

MS may be naive on certain matters, so are we all! But my major criticism is that he stymies investigations into the end of War. Tamil friends, remember punishments may backfire, but the TRUTH must be made known.

This is JVP taking a cheap shot at PResident to support anti-sri lankana, anti buddhist, UNPatriotic party headed by a ex-Catholic politician bond Scam Ranil and former fianncer minister who is a catholic. Ig JVP really wanted to show corruption, JVP should have talked about Rs 600 million Advertising grant that spends advertising money every week and pays the same company.

JOKE, If all allocated money is spent the government is doing good as per JVP? Never expected JVP to be such silly.

It would have been a worthy argument, had they waited to ask how the money was spent and what happened to the unused.

This is a just a hint from the JVP during Christmas and during this season of giving that our Excellenay the President need to drop a few sacks of money and buillion at AKD’s door step in return for JVP allegaince. Very soon, the same reminder will be go out to Hon. PM asking for a similar Christmas fortune drop and a fat holiday bonus. The JVP mantra is, if you want to spend money, spend it wisely!

It demonstrates both the failures of respective ministries & ministers and the opportunistic nature of JVP.

If departments of a private company “saves” 91% of the budget because they were not active in achieving the set objectives for the period, the heads would be asked to leave by the share holders and if it is a listed company, it’s share prices would tumble loosing the company’s market capitalisation or capital base.

Yahapalanaya has lost it’s capital base, but the management refuses to leave. What we the true shareholders should do?

I thought the countrymen have been suffering since 5th February 1948. what is new then? Non of Sinhala/Buddhists racist policy worked.
I think you need once more 1915 or 1983.

“They can only find band aids like importing rice, coconut & vegetable. What a pathetic lot…….”
Promise free rights from the moon, good chance people voting for you. Or promise them there is a fat chance of very badly beating the Tamils/Muslims and you will not miss it for anything else.

Was your family happy about you going around and picking, kicking, killing the people the Tamils in 1983?

sirisena should step down not because the JVP wants him to but because he has allowed the country’s competitiveness to slip down from 71 to 85.At this rate even nepal will overtake us next year.

ps.google global competitiveness index 2017 and see the report. What reforms has he done since taking over in jan 2015.none.Why doesn’t he look at the report and do the necessary reforms now.

Better late than never gamarala.Get back to your growing manioc if you can’t run the country properly.

Jim softy: “I think JVP is talking for the Gallery”, you said. Tell me who or what political that is not talking to the Gallery? What is this “Gallery” that you are referring to? What is the composition of that “Gallery”? In my terminology, Gallery is the real composition of the “Simple Simions” of this country that matters to be taken care of and respected. The problem that the country has been faced with for several decades is that a class of “Elite” who occupied and still occupying the “Balcony” and the “Boxes” has captured the power to govern the country by blind-folding the real people who occupy the Gallery. Isn’t time that someone must talk to the “Gallery” and awaken to their right to choose the real people who matter to their welfare? Have you ever followed what is happening in the Legislature? Where do you find the “Official Opposition” who are entrusted with the task of exposing the short falls of Government? At least, were it not for the JVP, that so called “Gallery” would not have been able to know what is going in that Assembly located at Diyawannawa. Together, we find the media including the “social media” are doing a good job and let us learn to give credit to whoever who deserves. Did you read the latest “Draconian” Act of Parliament that was titled “Exchange Control Act of 2017” which was passed with 97 for and 18 against. A one “Luminary” President Counsel who criticized that Act did not even know that it was JVP who spoke against, brought Amendments and voted against. Where were those of “JO”? If you too do not know what is going on, on the ground, no doubt you too are in the “Balcony” or the “BOX”.

What are you saying, JVP? You want the man who robbed public funds from the Central Bank to stay and the man who didn’t waste the money to go? Next time, listen to your statement by yourself first. Then you will realize how absurd does it sound.

SM: JVP is playing politics as usual – they want to eat into the SLFP vote base. But JVP should realize the future is to up their game and play a different game – by focus on minority voters and getting Tamils and Muslims into party leadership positions, as well as, youth and women who are fed up of UNP and SLFP corruption.

JVP needs to build a rainbow coalition against corruption – then they will win

Before doing anything Anura should return Rs. 2.5 million (or 25 million?) he said to have taken from Wijedasa Rajapaksa/UNP for 2015 election. Anura didn’t dispute Wijedasa’s claim. And there was an unverified allegation (Irish tax papers) about him owning a house in Ireland.

‘No confidence’ motion for lavish spending is known but ‘no confidence’ for not spending must be very very uncommon.
It is clear MS does not want to be identified with reconciliation/integration. Any efforts will be construed as unpatriotic.
We have built an unbreakable wall, have we not?
As far as Swaminathan is concerned, prisoner rehabilitation is the need now to reduce reoffending. It requires creative thinking. Swaminathan is not known to possess this attribute.

The JVP before finding faults of others they should correct themselves. First of all they must apologize to the nation and its people for crimes committed in 1971 and 1987/89. They must first clean themselves. The JVP is more than responsible for the plight we are in today as a nation. They must first stop commemorating the death of Wijeweera. He is not a hero. We must forget about Wijeweera for ever. He is a lost cause. I will vote for the JVP if they just do that.

This money allocation was a show off to International Mediators. The New King was planning to swindle it like the Russian’s “Sword and Ship”. But he saw how Swaminathan’s “North East” Iron Cages story ended. So he let it to return to treasury.
IC Modayas wiped out Tamils’ freedom fight hoping to win Lankawe Old King’s love. But they made Lankawe as a runaway Yakka girl with Dragon. Their beloved UNP is the one bonded Lankawe as a Chinese province like no other Government ever did in Lankawe 70 year’s democratic history.
American Ex. Secretary Kerry destroyed TNA to make UNP win in January 2015. He had no Idea at all about how the Lankawe democratic dictatorship has been working from 1948. He was too arrogant to take examples from his predecessor Hilary Clinton. Our prediction in the Jan 2015 election was ignored by TNA and IC.
This gave fuel for Kumar Ponnampalam to teach Tamil Congress kind of politics to other parties too. The other parties have learned division from him, but in a better degree and they have taught him back how the division work, by forcing him stand alone with his betrayed Bicycle. When Kumar’s counterpart, UNP Sumanthiran, became active in the TNA, he became too success in chasing out other parties as Terrorist Parties. Sumanthiran Idiot did not know who the TULF, the first party taught to split from TNA and setting example. That time Sampanthar was trying to bring in EPDP. Unless UNP Sumanthiran is removed from FP, making them one is no longer possible.
IC Modayas brought China to Indian Ocean by defeating the Tamils freedom war. Same way, they will be soon reaping for TNA’s split, though I don’t know to predict what it would be. IC Modayas acted in many wrong ways from 1948, that time by imposing Soulbury Constitution on Tamils and currently by preaching their democracy to Sinhala Modayas.

These are the biggest rotters, after the LTTE. The blood-letting and the damage they did in 1971 and 1987 this nation will never forget. And when they had a chance to sit in the Cabinet after the 2015 elections, they proudly refused. Also, their policies are similar to Cuba and not sustainable.

Though I do not advocate the policies of the JVP, I find that they are correct in their approach in many social and political issues. Thus I am made to ponder if I should consider them ( the JVP) as a better mechanism to solve this political waterloo that we are in @ present.

That said, the claim by Bimal R for the resignation of the President as the Minister of national Integration and reconciliation is perfectly logical given the fact that only a mere 9% (nine percent) of the allocated budgetary funds has being utilized in this ministry.

    The underlying facts are:

    1. The minister ( the President) is not getting involved in the operational activities
    2. The public officials (from the Ministry Secretary downwards) are clueless of what needs to be done
    3. There is a large power-gap between the minister in-charge and the other officials of the ministry

If not any of these reasons above, then the Minister and the Ministry Secretary should relinquish their positions.

    Cheers!

JVP is 100% right in this call. why? UNP and SLFP are playing with life of people and they are not good at all .. All indexes are that they are going down the road. They are self -fish people and they do not like Sri lanka progresses into development. Why ? they only care about their interest. and if they do care they should have punished all people who did all corruption..

Ranil is a very innocent man and Unp is a very innocent party like jr premadasas.unp never be able to form a powerful government like modern slfp led by mahinda. And unp is very poor in handling high calibre neo liberal economy which was created by modern slfp. Unp does not have a support of top class business community the people entirly supporting mahindas modern slfp. Unp does not have a support of srilankan media the media fully supporting mshibda. Then how this innocent unp like jr or premadsa can fight with a modern slfp the party have power , business support, medias all type of support in any section of the country even when there in opposition. If jvp come to power tomorrow it is also will suffer like innocent unp people.so what the point talking of ranil or maithree.

MS knows very well that JVP brought him to power 2015 January 8th .That was called on “Rainbow Revolution” led by MS, which JVP was fully behind that. What else that MS want….from JVP?
According historical annals that JVP led two “Revolutions’: 1971 April 5th and Second 1988/89/90 and leadership of MS, UNP Ranil Wicks and CBK led another of public known by “Rainbow” Revolution in 2015 January 8th .

Both parties are NEW type of “Revolutionaries” in terms of ‘Democracy’ of USA and Indian think-tanks has undertaken which covered operated by CIA and RAW of Indian?
In urgent interest of “Rainbow” Revolution by which ahs installed puppet regime in Sri lanka by in favoring West and Indian vital interest of Indian Ocean and South Asian region?
In appearance those two model of “revolutions” are seems to be having mix feeling among poor public. But in real term of political task of hegemony of USA & Indian and its result shows that they current regime are diehard enemy of majority of the People .

Undoubtedly that MS+ CBK and JVPs are counter -Revolutionaries as agents of foreign -Powers, who has been surrender Nation Sovereignty, Independent and Democracy.
They will never-ever mend their way at any cost. The Politics and Revolution is for them(JVP UNP MS & CBK) is interest of Foreign power manipulation of Democracy which remain in power by hook or crook.

MS as well as JVP’s are crooks of politicos. By born classes of lumpen political roots of that both of them belongs to which cunning notion of an ideology.
Therefor that affiliated to political parties are fully corrupted, since their very existences last 60 odd years .
Both of them as MS and JVPs are never sincere for their cause for Serving people’s that mission as taken into priority by their political road map at any time in past p,resent and future.

Both are currently in hands of agents of puppets of foreign powers. Playing dual role in politics by day and night.
JVP do not want that ousted MS at any way?
That is lie concord by MS’s media henchmen’s!@
By and large that MS want remain as President in Power Until 2025???
That is the case of MS ?

It is a fine idea to throw out MS and to appoint a person like KANTHA LAL from J V P , most suitable for the post of our president with past experiences, he will make our mother Sri lanka a happier nation for ever. all the J V P dreams would come true.
Then the entire country can feel the difference ,we all can taste it once again the way that the crimes committed in 1971 and 87/89, killing the rich first burning their properties, houses, then the educated people, and burning all private sector institutes specially all universities, all private business companies, all private buses motor cars etc…we all can experience a lot as in 1971
A fine Idea, but we all must think twice before selecting them, so far they haven’t apologize form our nation for their early crimes.
