Colombo Telegraph is now in a position to reveal that President Maithripala Sirisena has held negotiations with UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayanth to make him the Prime Minister if the party secures victory at the Parliamentary election.
In the face of a UPFA defeat, Premajayanth will be appointed as the Leader of the Opposition.
That will shut out former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is contesting the election as the District Leader of Kurunegala on the UPFA ticket.
Speaking of the UPFA nominations, President Sirisena said last week that there were several seniors of the UPFA who could be appointed as the Prime Minister.
Premajayanth was instrumental in getting nomination for the former President to contest from the UPFA.

So there is no chance for MR to be appointed PM – especially in view of the President in his Address to the Nation categorically stated that MR will not be given the job in view of many other suitable candidates being available in the ranks of the SLFP.
So, a vote to “Bring Back Mahinda as Prime Minister” is a vote for a LOST CAUSE.
This constitutional provision is being totally distorted by the likes of Weerwansa,Dinesh Gunawardena,GL Peiris and now….the loathsome Sarath N.Silva.
