Complaints Lodged With Court Police, Women’s and Children Bureau, National Authority for The Protection of Victims of Crimes and Witnesses

Minister A. H. M. Fowzie’s granddaughter – Attorney-at-Law Fathima Hafsa lodged three complaints for intimidating and assaulting her in Court premises this morning against Dr. Shazli Mowjood who is on bail and allegedly carried on these acts in breach of bail conditions.
Three complaints were lodged with Court Police, Women’s and Children Bureau and the National Authority for The Protection of Victims of Crimes and Witnesses against Dr. Mowjood for allegedly punching her in the stomach and threatening to kill her in the event she continues to be witness against the assailant. The incident was immediately brought to the notice of the Magistrate. Furthermore, following the assault the complainant was admitted to National Hospital for a medical check-up.
Magistrate Court has called up the case tomorrow (February 10) to hear about the assault.

According to Sharia Law, women are relegated to a lower status in Muslim society.
This is so in all Muslim majority countries, & enforced by law in some.
This is practised in Sri Lanka, but educated Muslim women rebel against this.
Muslim women candidates in ongoing elections are reportedly facing immense opposition for having dared to contest.
This would be a test case – if the assailant is jailed, it would help emancipation of Muslim women.

RSSS, Sorry I did not read all that, but surely you’re trying to prove some prehistoric things here. If you have such a long history dating 2500 years back, why is your population still thin, merely little more than Muslims and this alone is a good reason to say you were brought in a few centuries back by colonial masters for tobacco planting.
Secondly, 2500 years of claim should have unearthed some archeologic evidence, and so far none that strongly suggest your claim and all archeological evidence support Buddhist claims. When I looked around a bit deeper, some say that you guys are good at paying for rewriting the history.

Looking at things today, I guess everything has become vise versa. You’re being called “diaspora”, who have been chased out of a land where you claim prehistoric existence. Then you reach Australia / EU on illegal tiny, rusty boats without any docs, and then they call you “boat-people”. And you live there as refugees bound by too many regulations. Few settle well while many still struggle there and end up doing every possible menial work as well as into criminal activities, credit card skimming etc..etc.

This is not a matter for personal or political debate. This is purely an assault case and if proved it will be dealt according to merits of the case. There is nothing personal or politics whether the lady is a lawyer or not, it is a case of assault and intimidation and
within the court premises where law prevails. If and when proved it will be framed under the serious crimes act and contempt of court.
