The editor of the Sunday Observer fearing his loss of employment got it right this time around and published a photograph of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe seated in the VVIP enclosure at the 72nd Bradby Shield rugby encounter played between Royal and Trinity Colleges at the Royal Sports Complex held last Saturday.
A smiling premier was snapped by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited’s photographer and published this time around with the photo caption that read ” Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was a keen spectator at the Bradby Shield first leg played at the Royal Sports Complex yesterday”.
Earlier in March, the Sunday Observer Sports Editor and veteran journalist Callistus Davy was sent home for not carrying the picture of the Premier at the concluded 137th Royal Thomian cricket encounter which Royal College went on to win.
Davy paid a heavy price when he opted to carry the photograph of the historic moment and the match winning hit, rather than mug shot of Premier Wickremesinghe handing over the D.S.Senanayake Shield to the winning Royal College skipper.
Meanwhile Daham Sirisena the son of President Maithripala Sirisena and a Royalist himself, was a notable absentee at the VVIP enclosure.

Its almost 50 days since the Royal-Thomian cricket match was concluded and Calistus Davy the Editor of the Sunday Observer is still there.Thats what Ranil is made of. If he was “gunning” for the Editor he would have sacked him immediately but Ranil is made of sterner stuff and he did not stoop to that low degree of revenge for not featuring him at the Royal/Thomian presentation. Ranil is a dignified politician humble and honest. He has proved his mettle.
The Editor should have featured the PM at the Royal/Thomian presentation since he is the Prime Minister and also a distinguished Old Royalist and an important personality at that occasion. It would have been like “Hamlet without the Prince”. However Ranil the perfect gentleman did not take offence unlike some politicos of the previous regime
The media tried to spotlight this even but it seemed to have backfired !!!

Where did he hide this huge amount of money; it is not just a dollar or two but billions. Since the US has discontinued its Million Dollar Bill a long time ago MARA can not use it either. Therefore, can somebody check SiriKotha since MARA knows that nobody would check it there?
