Colombo Telegraph can reveal that the President’s Media Division was directly involved in publishing a fake letter suggesting that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had sought Chief Justice Nalin Perera’s opinion on the no confidence motion against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Speaker’s Office lodged a complaint with the CID today to probe into the fake letter which was widely shared by supporters of the purported government.
The Speaker’s Office, issuing a statement, confirmed that no such letter went from Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to the Chief Justice and the fake letter was originated by the President’s Media Division to discredit the Speaker.
Substantial evidence has surfaced to suggest that the PMD was instrumental in planting the letter on social media through an individual named Irosh Hettige who went on to publish it on his Facebook profile. Hettige, a staffer at the Presidential Secretariat, continued to publicize the fake letter on his Facebook profile even after the Speaker’s Office issued a denial. He also made a public disclaimer about the act.
Police sources said further investigations into the letter would be carried and action would be taken against perpetrators for forging documents. “Based on the Speaker’s request we will inquire into the letter and question everyone who was involved in the act,” a highly-placed CID source with direct knowledge of the investigation told Colombo Telegraph.

I have my lovely ones that are even nonagenarians that need more care as aged people. Also we help cancer patients back in home country back and forther as we can do so.
Some of them wrote me E-mails worrying as never times before. They ve been spending their later day life. They dont want any additional pains and anxities.
Most of them are telling the same, as never in the history, they have been worrying about lanken democracy being destroyed with the power greedy actions being taken by mad dogs.
One is a retired teacher and other two are really in need are elderly weda mahathayas. They ve been very worrying… as their words depict.
If things would turn out to be worse, even trade embargo may be the result next days.
Cancer drugs are already in scarce as I got o know form some friends in Colombo.
