The terrestrial broadcasting license of the Carlton Sports Network (CSN) has been cancelled by the Media Ministry.

Citing reasons for the decision to cancel the license, the Ministry said that the channel had ‘violated’ transmission conditions and as a result the license was cancelled.
Carlton Sports Network (CSN), identifies itself as a Sri Lankan sports, lifestyles and business television channel. CSN launched in 2011 and is funded by the Rajapaksa family, with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second son, Yoshitha listed as the owner of the channel.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa is currently out on bail in a money laundering case involving the channel.

Big deal!
Why not prosecute properly, give a fair trial, without Gon Gamarala jabbering at the independent commissions, convict and hang him for murder, if guilty, along with his uncle Gotabel.
If not guilty, let the guy move on to his next project in life, including his uncle Gotabel. They need to have a life too, either dead like their victims, if guilty, or alive, if they are not guilty.

99.9% of respondents seem to enjoy taking someone’s right for free speech and an audience’s right for information. They may oppose the views or the owners of CSN. But by endorsing such cowardly acts, they endanger their own right for free speech & information.
Having said that this is just a side show together with other noises such as pseudo conflict between the President & PM to cover up the biggest robbery in the country and the robbers involved, deteriorating security situation especially in the North & East, selling of country to India through ETCA and the race based division of the country through a new constitution.
