Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for explanation from over 20 UNP Parliamentarians who recently travelled overseas sans his permission.

According to party protocol, MPs travelling overseas must obtain approval from the party leadership beforehand, however out of at least 30 UNP MPs who had recently gone overseas, over 20 MPs had not sought Wickremesinghe’s approval prior to their departure.
The UNP leadership has sent out letters to the MPs who have travelled overseas without obtaining approval, asking them to give reasons as to why they failed to follow party procedure.
