Resolution #9 Is #1 On Ranil’s Watch As President. Will Anything Be Different?

By Rajan Philips

Rajan Philips

Sri Lanka is facing its 9th Resolution at the current UNHRC session in Geneva. It is also the first on Ranil Wickremesinghe’s watch as President. Almost all of them have been during Rajapaksa regimes – Mahinda’s second term (2010 to 2014) and Gota’s half term from 2020. The exception was the sponsored resolution between 2015 and 2019, when Ranil was PM, Mangala FM and Sirisena President. As Yahapalanaya Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe was effusive in his promises for constitutional changes and national reconciliation. The UNHRC resolution that Ranil and Mangala  sponsored was an affirmation of what they promised to accomplish at home. But they did nothing to persuade a critical mass of the people to get on board with their approach to national reconciliation in general, and the UNHRC in particular. And they were easily outflanked at home by the Rajapaksa-led opposition to the sponsored resolution in Geneva.

To be clear, it is not the people of Sri Lanka but the government that is being embarrassed in Geneva year after year. It is also because the government shows up every year without doing any of the homework it promises to do. Every year, the resolution gets longer – with new paragraphs added to old ones. In this year of Gotabaya disgrace, a new clause has been added concerning the country’s current economic crisis. That has raised plenty of hackles among self-righteous patriots. There are also plenty of other Sri Lankans, no less patriotic and not just diaspora Tamils, who are welcoming the new resolution and its reference to the economic crisis and its criminal perpetrators.

The resolution itself does not include the words, ‘economic crimes,’ but calls upon the government to investigate and even prosecute “corruption by public and former public officials,” and assures that the Commission “stands ready to assist and support independent, impartial, and transparent efforts in this regard.” What is wrong with that? Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister has a different take. Addressing the Commission before the 9th Resolution was released, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry took the routine diplomatic exception to the Acting High Commissioners Report for making “extensive reference to economic crimes.”

The Minister went on to add that “apart from the ambiguity of the term, it is a matter of concern that such a reference exceeds the mandate of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).” Back home, the Minister has been taken to task by commentators for being oblivious to the fact that in UN lexicon, human rights – all human rights including economic, social and cultural rights – are “indivisible, interrelated, interdependent and mutually reinforcing.” All rights are one and indivisible, and the violation of each is a crime.

Even so, why pick on a small country like Sri Lanka when there is no country in the world where there are no human rights violations or economic crimes. That has been the commonplace grouse among Sri Lankan objectors to what some of them call the “Geneva charade.” But calling it a charade doesn’t solve the problem. You can argue till cows come home about how and why Sri Lanka got stuck in Geneva, but that will do little to get the country unstuck. It has become an agonizing annual ritual for the country and the yearly escalation in the resolution is a direct result of the government’s inaction during the preceding year.

Economic Crimes

The Rajapaksa regimes used Geneva as a platform to whip up political support at home. The Ranil (Wickremesinghe)-Mangala (Samaraweera) duo, on the other hand, thought they could find a way out  of Geneva simply by co-sponsoring a resolution without any back up action to win public support at home. Both strategies backfired. This year is different. The UNHRC mandarins got an altogether new brief for their drafting of the annual resolution. That brief arose from the vortex of aragalaya protests that quite peacefully ended the presidency of Gotabaya Rajapaksa barely halfway through its elected term.

Minister Sabry can split hairs as much as he wants, but he cannot hide a pumpkin in a plate of rice. Not after aragalaya, and not after the expulsion of Gotabaya Rajapaksa from office. Mr. Sabry cannot deny that there were economic crimes committed by the Gotabaya Government that led to a wholly ‘man made’ economic crisis. Nor can he disagree that the men who made it must be made to answer for their crimes. If he wants UNHRC out of the picture, he should advise his current President to find domestic ways to bring justice to the victims of  not only economic crimes, but all crimes committed by the state.

On the external front, the Rajapaksa regimes extended their native cunning methods to play one country against another, not so much for any strategic benefit for the country but for their own nefarious purposes of making money for the family through the machinery of the state. This is the root cause of the country’s over reliance on China for bilateral debt. The Ranil-Mangala duo berated the Rajapaksas for annoying India and alienating the West and played the opposite strategy of wooing the West and India without upsetting China. In the upshot, the resolutions in Geneva kept getting longer, and Sri Lanka’s debt to China kept getting bigger.

In Hambantota debt was turned into equity, like water becoming wine, for China. In Port City, again to please China, Ranil Wickremesinghe went back on his election promise to shut the project down, a promise he made without meaning to keep it. When Rajapaksas returned with Gota at the helm, the highway construction robbery resumed in earnest. But a half a billion dollar US (Millennium) grant for road infrastructure was recklessly rejected because there was no room for cuts or commissions.

The Colombo Light-Rail project with Japanese funding was stopped by an email from the President’s Secretary to the Transport’s Secretary, with no formal or informal intimation to Japan. Non-organic fertilizers were banned to save foreign exchange while hoping for an organic agricultural miracle. The military President’s select experts had other bright ideas as well. Eliminate taxes to boost the economy and print money to get out of debt. If these are not economic crimes, what are they?

The rude awakening came too much, too late, with the tanking of the economy two years after Gota became President and 17 years after the family first took office. Coincidentally, like the 17 year UNP rule earlier. Now, the government suddenly finds itself having to be exceptionally ambidextrous – talking ‘hair cuts’ with the IMF, and splitting hairs at the UNHRC. The kneejerk thinking among patriotic pundits is that the IMF and the UNHRC are in cahoots against Sri Lanka and the Core Group of countries who are navigating the resolution in Geneva are also calling the shots in the IMF in Washington.

It turns out that the countries that are positively flexible with Sri Lanka on the economic front and debt restructuring are also taking a sterner stand over the UNHRC resolution and accountability for human rights and economic crimes. India is charting its own course in Geneva after being the only country to consistently advance forex through weeks and months when Sri Lanka had neither cash nor credit. India is staying clear of the resolution but reading from the old script on devolution and provincial councils. China, on the other hand, is frightfully non-committal on debt write-off or restructuring, but leading the cheers for Sri Lanka in Geneva. Cash or cheers? That should not be the question.

Repeal the PTA

There is no need to conflate the debt crisis and Geneva resolutions as some external imposition on Sri Lanka. There is no external conflation, only domestic delusions about it. Even if there is conflation, there is little that any Sri Lankan government can do about it. The need is for the government to realize that both (debt and accountability) are of its own making and that the resolution of both should start with fundamental changes at home.

Living with a permanent stalemate in Geneva was possible so long as the economy was limping along. Now with the economy broken, nothing can be fixed until everything is fixed. That is the real conflation. Hence, the national necessity for fundamental changes at home and the need for dispelling delusions about burdens from abroad. Who will provide the agency for these changes? President Wickremesinghe alone cannot provide the agency for these changes. He can and should be the biggest contributor, but that alone will not be enough.

A positive development of note is the start of a new ‘mobile signature campaign’ for repealing the Prevention of Terrorism Act. The campaign that was initiated by the ITAK in Jaffna on September 10 reached Gall Face last week and was joined by signing opposition MPs, Civil Society activists and even retired public servants. Former defence secretary Austin Fernando was reportedly the first person to start off signing in Colombo. ITAK MPs, Sumanthiran and Rasamanickam were joined by Eran Wickramaratne, Mujibur Rahuman, Hirunika Premachandra, Rauff Hakeem and Tissa Attanayake.

There were also social activists Pubudu Jagoda, and Dharmasiri Lankapeli, and Trade Unionist Joseph Stalin. Bringing great poignancy to the occasion was Human Rights Lawyer, Hejaaz Hizbullah, who had been long detained under the PTA for no reason by the Rajapaksa regime. Sumanthiran struck a note of unity between the north and south in the new campaign for the repeal of an old law that first entered the statue books in 1979, introduced as a temporary measure for six months. The bill was challenged by TULF activists as a fundamental rights case in the Supreme Court, with Colvin R. de Silva as the lead lawyer. Court challenges meant nothing at that time for a government that had four-fifths majority in parliament.

The law was kept in force by every succeeding government despite promises to repeal it. Just like the promise to abolish the executive presidency. All that President Wickremesinghe has to do now is to start fulfilling the unkept promises of his predecessors. One promise at a time. That will speedily shorten the UNHRC resolution from year to year and soon there will be nothing left for another resolution. The President can do most of it in one year. He could start by repealing the PTA and stop arresting political protesters. That would be a positive change after his busy schedule attending two far flung funerals from London to Tokyo.

Resolution #9 Is #1 On Ranil’s Watch As President. Will Anything Be Different?

Until he became a president he spoke of different and when after becoming president he is following the same policy that the current Government was doing. When a man is denied the right to speak due manmade poverty people life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw. Hunger does not understand law, Ranil is like Authority without people vote is like a heavy axe without an edge

Rajan, don’t waste time on the Human Rights hypocrisy show in Geneva that the USAID and EU funded NGOs talk up! ECONOMIC RIGHTS and DEBT JUSTICE is what matters to average Lankans today. Sri Lankans are tired of being Divided and Ruled by Ethno-religious, gender, LGBTQ..XYZ identity politics that the Aragalaya actors and puppet show was all about!
Ranil is to head the Asian Development Bank for 2 years, with trips to Japan – the IMF and Paris Club proxy! US brokered and backed Ranil Rajaapkse, US citizen Basil Jarapassa regime is clearly backed by the West and the biggest Militarier and Rogue State in the world to begger and asset strip Lanka!
Ranil Rajapkse regime was put in place with the pro-IMF CIA directed Argalaya with NED and USAID funded civil society. Funded civil society NGOs and corporate media scribes have forgotten that Economic Rights and Debt Justice is what average Lankans, who are tired of being Divided and Ruled by Ethno-religious, gender, LRBGQZYZ identity politics funded by NED care about!

There is such a striking resemblance between our economic and human rights policies.
With both, there is a reluctance to face reality. At the UN, we stoutly deny that rights were violated. At home, we deny that there is an economic crisis.
The solution at the UN is to make promises we don’t intend to keep. Exactly the same with the IMF, where we usually manage to extract the first tranches of loans.
Our rulers can’t punish human rights violators because the rulers themselves made them into untouchable gods, protected by even more virulent yellow-clad deities.
Our rulers can’t make tough economic decisions like cutting subsidies or the armed forces, because those are the things which get them votes.
We got over past economic crises by taking more loans. Now we’re bankrupt.
What will it take for a Sri Lankan government to lock up murderers, no matter the colour of their uniforms or robes?

            Dear Nathan,
            .
            “…. after a long while.”
            .
Your comment had appeared yesterday. It is now, 22.43 today (27th September 2022). There were no “LIKES” or “DISLIKES” for yout comment, until I gave it a “LIKE”.
            .
I gave old codger’s comment a LIKE yesterday, because it is unlike his other recent comments. In them, he says some valid things, and then, against all rationality, he endorses our current usurper, Ranil Wickremasinghe. And he does so whilst remaining anonymous.
            .
Suddenly, “nice liberal Sinhalese,” like “leelagemalli” and “Human Touch”, start endorsing Ranil, and denouncing the “Sinhalese voters”. I’ve been chatting with both of them on WhatsApp, and I can vouch for their both being absolutely sincere, and without agenda of their own. However, they only think that they know Lanka, live abroad, and have no intention of returning.
            .
If chiv and yourself, Nathan, who are both Tamils, remain anonymous I have no problem. But the problem with the knowledgeable and intelligent oc is that he does seem to have a pro-Ranil Wickremasinghe agendum. I’m uncomfortable because I don’t understand what’s going on.

              Dear SM
Please stop harassing and stalking our commenters. You have been a decent person but for some reason I get the feeling that someone is behind you. What you are putting together these days shows that you lack basic information about many things.
You don’t care much about anything except searching for identities that satisfy gossip. why ?
These are the basics that you obviously haven’t learned.
              .
Your comments are becoming completely unacceptable. Who knows you Sinhala man (who doesn’t even understand Sinhala) is probably the biggest “spy” in this forum.

Everyone should have his or her own freedom of expression. Why should you worry about the identity of “old codger” or others commenting anonymously if CT as the owner of the site has no problem with that? ?????

And we know that almost everyone in our homeland, which is destroyed by criminals (Medamulana animals), can easily be killed. You may be blind and naive as usual, but over 80% of our CT commenters are anonymous.

I feel like SM suffers from a rare disease to seek out gossip about people commenting on some hero worship tactics.

It may be SM s hobby, but dont forget, those annonymous commenters have no other options but to react so.
                :
Further to this, SM can be accused of being a JVP disciple. He always boasts of JVP/NPP. To me, his reactions are that of a teenager boy child.

The Sinhala man should stop looking for anyone’s National ID in this forum, because it is a big threat to us. He has no right to hunt down anonymous critics in a country where brutal killings have become their daily routine.
                :
I request Manel, SJ and other reliable and unbiased commentators to resolve this issue.

If the Sinhala man still does not understand this, we should send him to a psychiatrist.

May sinhala man be blessed with some wisdom !

                Dear leelagemalli,
                .
I acknowledge that, recently, I have been rather concerned about the identity of some commenters; not yours, not Nathans, or chiv’s. Not even Champa’s.
                .
I hate racism, and there is racism in Champa. It is interesting to read her/his comments because we must be aware of what Sinhala nationalists are saying. I’m sure that however hard you look at my comments, you will not find me approving racism.
                .
It is old codger whose sudden support for Ranil Wickremasinghe that has got me worried. I have discussed your own support for Ranil, with you. Your support for the guy doesn’t matter; I’ll show you why in a later comment.
                .
However, there are other important issues that I have been dealing with recently.

                  Dear SM,
                  .
Champa is racist: Entire world is turning against Russia, but Champa does not seem to know the basics. European countries support Ukraine refugees like their own family ones. I wonder how Champa or the like men or women continue talking high about Russia ?
                  .
This is exactly the point. We can’t stand some people who comment on CT, let alone we blame the MPs.
Don’t you think it’s in our genes? Our people only blame. In today’s context, they should not be singled out for criticism, because we are hanging on by a single hair when it comes to our future. The whole world is more interested in our problems than our people. We should all be clear that we are on the brink of a precipice. It is not only politicians but also criminals including media crooks are getting worse day by day. Our men, whatever their age, are not true peace-breakers, but makers.

What is the cause of concern? What else can happen to Sri Lanka? We have already lost in many ways because this condition is incurable. I don’t think there’s much left to damage RW any more. My concern is that it is done by the perpetrators but the blame is put on RW and UNP. why is that ? Even the JVPs still don’t see it right??????
                    .
I don’t think OC suddenly changed his attitude. It was he and I who stood against the allegation of bond fraud against the RW-MS government. We also criticized Sirasa channel on this issue. It is all clear to world experts that Marra and Cabral were the designers and behind the Central Bank of Sri Lanka bond scam.

Actually, I did not live in that country after my youth. And I have never worked with Sri Lankans in my entire life. I will not join them on the issues of Sri Lanka in recent years. However, as it is my motherland, I am very much involved in Sri Lankan affairs whenever I get the chance.
Your experience is different. So your thinking should not deviate from any norm.

I think our people should be serious about the issues that should be really serious. Buddhist monks should not be allowed to make decisions about them. Our Sinhala Buddhist monks are born idiots, I am talking about the majority.

                    Exactly. dear LM,
                    .
I will always quietly upbraid Champa’s racism, but I recognise a lot of good in her:
                    .
You have said, “…… because we are hanging on by a single hair when it comes to our future.” You haven’t defined “we” there, but from the context I take you to mean Lankans. Without getting alarmist, I’d stretch it out to mean the entire world. A disastrous nuclear war is a distinct possibility.
                    .
It is good for us to consider what we were saying in March 2022, as a result of two articles by Dr Jagath Asoka:

And this was the second, where Manel and Champa disagreed with most of us, and they were right!

I don’t think we need to worry about what Champa has to say. To me, long ago, I thought she should be locked in a pissankotuwa.

We all know that WHILE the house is under fire, she talks about “Human Evolution” and “Balangoda Man” 24 hours a day.Meaning she is that stupid not being able to prioratize what to be talked and what not.
No doubt the suffering man/woman may be trapped in his/her mental asylum.
                  .
The whole of Sri Lanka is in the throes of a dollar shortage, and since we have nothing better to argue about, she is stuck on the Russia-Ukraine crisis. would she not say a single word if the Indian hegemony annexes Northern Sri Lanka. S/he might feel that she can be considered smart when her text will appear elongated. This stupid lockhead would never GRASP the danger before our country.
                  :
Neither she nor he knows what falls on her lips. Because Russia and China used veto power in favor of Sri Lanka in the UN Human Rights Council, s/he should not think of betraying her soul again and again.
                  .
It’s not worth the time to read what s/he has bubbled up. Some of her passages are only verbal content. I really don’t know what goes through the little heads of the lowlifes.

You may not agree, but I view all recent governments of the State of Sri Lanka as being against the people living on this beautiful island. The people may have, in their foolishness, have elected these horrible governments, but they are our people, and we must educate them.

                      Thank you SM,
I really don’t know what you were talking about. Have you really tried hard enough to educate them? how ?
Dare you say you did, just because you talked to a handful of people in your region? In rich countries, they have free tabloids delivered to every home. It was not shortly before an election, but long before an election.

Our countries that don’t have enough funds, for example, should have regular workshops of the kind that a retired teacher’s association could build: Many retired teachers in Sri Lanka don’t do much work after retirement. It is effective from the age of 55 or 60 years. In europe retiring age 65. In Germany it is 68.

Not only SL retired teachers but other professionals have not done much in terms of “improving awareness of becoming a powerful and accurate voter”: it should be a regular process.

People in Japan and many countries in the region are highly knowledgeable about using their votes. Most voters should be able to “cross-examine” their candidates.

Voter empowerment can only be done with proper awareness. If something is being done against the media, those retired professionals should collectively stand against it. Today in Sri Lanka. Pachavahinis are constantly misleading the nation.

If there is a will there should always be a way.

                Dear leelagemalli,
                .
Let’s be clear about this: I not only understand Sinhalese well, but am also able to speak it (perfectly, is claiming too much) fluently effectively. I have never stated otherwise.
                .
However, I have had to confess this sad fact to you: I’m not really literate in the language, and so I refused to comment in Sinhalese.
                .
I’m glad to see your comments even on the most recent article, but it is your comments on Dr Janapriya’s article that really warmed my heart. I was rather unhappy sending you all those “hostile observations”.

“During our short stay on this planet, let us try to be kind to as many people as possible.”

If you consider what has been criticised above, you will not argue sharply with Hancho Pancha again and again. He is 10 years older than you. I think our citizens (seniors) should go back to their Montessori classes as well.Reports say, that japanese are humble enough to LEARN also in their later day life.

Only then will our people learn to behave.

Needless to say, the most striking feature of our people is their reluctance to compromise. Small or major they are stalling to make progress with their reforms and EU parliamentarians get together and pass their reforms within weeks. This has a lot to do with weaknesses in our thinking patterns. Don’t you think so?.

                      .
I don’t think hatred will do either of you any good.

All I can advise is to forgive and forget. CT environment worsens by fighting with each other like poisonous snakes.
                      .
Both of you senior gentlemen should set an example for the others.

We CT readers hate reading what each of you has to say about your personal vendettas. You can’t make him bad, it has to be valid for him. If neither you nor he provokes you, nothing will escalate in this way.

No thanks, I don’t want to hang on to this anymore. I don’t have time to exchange unnecessary things. I get my CT comments at the airport, train or in my car.. so can you imagine my situation?

I wish you both good !

Hi LM. I have neither a personal vendetta nor an agenda. It is paramount that everybody learn to respect each other. The Snake_Man in his ill bred mind thought it was perfectly ok, to put in the public domain a persons personal details. He has done the same to few others too. If not you would have not known how old I am. This guy need to be taught the basic principles of life even at his old age. I never went after him nor any other instead it was because he volunteered his shoulder.

                Dear “leelagemalli”,
                .
                PART ONE

                .
I don’t want to be taken for a ride by people having various agenda. I don’t want to collect NIC numbers, and I recognise that what I’m doing is somewhat eccentric.
                .
I have no problem with your identity, and I have done you the favour of vouching for your authenticity and your sincerity. However, you’re writing far too many comments, without thinking, and without knowing at first hand what is happening here.
                .
You have certain prejudices acquired about thirty years ago, and now hunt for evidence in news reports and Youtubes to justify your jaundiced view of much that is happening here. You do a certain amount of harm through your activities because there are some people who visit this site to have their prejudices confirmed.

                PART TWO

I feel that you will get your views more on track if you think more and work out the consequences of what you’re saying. You’ll get more Green thumbs in your favour – I don’t mind. Thinking people will reject the validity of your comments. If you work out your language, your thinking will also improve.
                .
I’ve told you about animal imagery, mainly canine. And so, some of you decided that if CT moderators allowed “BP” each side could have fun lambasting the other. I’m sorry; I take a much more serious view of what we’re doing here. Please make only statements that you can be sure of. You’ve been saying again recently, that the Frontline Socialists (Peratugami) go round ragging freshers. On what evidence? Two horrible minutes here:

I was looking for a long discussion of ragging by Harini Amarasuriya, Dr Nalinda Jayatissa, and a Moratuwa don. I can’t find it.
                .
I discuss these issues with all and sundry – and most often in Sinhala. Those speaking some English at home admittedly like to talk the same alarmist language that you do. That proves nothing.
                .
The extent of your fears indicates that you attach far too much importance to yourself.

Thanks, old codger, for a comment with which I can agree on all counts.
          .
Let me hope that the current government, which has no remit to play anything except a caretaker role, does indeed have the courage to act against thugs and murderers, although its actions so far are far from inspiring.
          .
“Far from inspiring?” Isn’t a convicted murderer a Minister of some sort? And how many Ministers do we now have?

There are far too many Ministers, and far too much of mutual backscratching among the Minsters and the caretaker President. I’m not going beyond that in this comment. because it would be nice to be back to a harmonious relationship with old codger.
          .
But I cannot be blind. I see the AlJazeera account, and I realise that Rajan Philips has taken account of all important issues in this article.

This comment was submitted a good 18 hours before the comment addressed to Nathan, although both carry the same date.
            .
With comments now having to be submitted within five days, it becomes necessary for us to quickly state where we stand.
            .
I’m not finding fault with the editorial policy of CT; we can comment meaningfully only because we are told clearly what the rules are.
            .
I’m saying this here because there have been complaints to CT that I’m revealing details of anonymous commenters. In the case of LM and HT, what I’m saying about them is what they, themselves, have revealed. Whether we like it or not, all Lankans are “our people”. It is upto us to use whatever strategies are available to us, to change their ways of thinking. If we ridicule them, they will hold on to their unfortunate views even more stubbornly.

              Dear sensitive readers,
It’s helpful for everyone if you see where you went wrong.

The reason I complained against some commenters is that they don’t seem to know the difference between privacy and data protection laws. The thing is they dont know that they dont know about the basics.
              .
Privacy is the information collected by e-mail. However, some do not care about the line between these two categories. To me and where i live, it is a punishable act.
              .
I have explained it to some people but they don’t see anything wrong. I think this can reveal more to us about the logic behind our social erosion in SRILANKA.

              SM,
“If we ridicule them, they will hold on to their unfortunate views even more stubbornly.”
Other people’s views may be “unfortunate” to you, but perfectly valid to them. All you have to do is prove your stand with logic. You can convert more people by being reasonable, but personal innuendo gets you nowhere. You must also remember that different people react differently. It is better to talk to people, not at them, and listen more.

Revealing anything personal— other than what has been volunteered on CT pages without provocation and pressure —it utterly unethical.
Personal threat, abuse and insult reveal much about the character of the person who resorts to such.

We have gone into this in some detail, hanchopancha.
                  .
I have no doubt that some of your comments are sincere, and they are very well worded, as are old codger’s. However, we know the agendum that you have here. You want a knotty land dispute solved with help from readers here.
                  .
To that end, you contacted me, through your pal Fahim Knight (who began supporting the Rajapaksas after Gota was elected President.) Later you were fishing for support from leelagemalli, and from Manel Fonseka. It will mean a bit of tedious work, but I can substantiate what I’m saying here with material that is currently on CT.
                  .
There are a number of articles written by me on CT, plus innumerable comments. Could you please substantiate your denigration of me.

SM. “Could you please substantiate your denigration of me” You wanted to educate the sophisticated readers of CT what ROBOT stood for. You are the only one out of the CT readership who signs off with the name and I/C No, That itself is proof that you are promoting yourself. I was not seeking support from Manel Fonseka nor Leelagemalli. Being used to reading their minds through the comments of theirs in CT I felt they would have a deep academic/parochial interest to listen to the story of a real life drama. If you did not barge into the conversation I had with Fahim Knight expressing your concern and wanting to find out more details so that you could be of help. I copied you a correspondence sent to another party assuming erroneously that you are a gentleman who knows how to respect people’s privacy.

                Mr. SJ,
                .
A regular workshop is mandatory to rebuild our torn society. Such programs should begin with the end of the long civil war in 2009. However, our leaders have destroyed this nation by self-aggrandizement and brought it to a precipice today.
                .
Prolonged war made people crime-friendly, abuse-prone and uncivilized. I had a good childhood in my home country where well-behaved Sinhala Buddhist monks guided rural and urban society in the right way. The elders were the true guides to the youth. Corruption was greatly reduced. Crime rates were greatly reduced. The position given to the police was very high, but their manipulations, even if not legal, were better than today.
Above all, the dignity of life was much higher.

There was respect. Today, as the former doctor (surgeon) clearly stated, the boys of today do not think twice but beat up the elderly and children on the street. They are called “Nakia”. can you imagine ? I am sorry to hear this… but I do believe, our retired people could do lot more rebuilding the society. That can then create ” knowledgeable voters” in the society.

Whenever I travel back home, each year, I can’t SEE any progress, it is worsening day by day, and my eyes cant believe.

The revolutionary Internet has done many good things for the progress of mankind, but it has reversed the development of society in the developing world.

I really believe, not only the “sinhala man”, but many people of that age group need proper guidance. In europe we are used to say it ” senior classes”. I am blessed not to see that ” Eagle eye” any more on CT. See how much hatreds are packed in such personalities.
                  :
Starting with the BIA’s immigration officers, I begin to criticize the “rude, rude behavior” of the authorities. Harassing passengers returning home from taxi offices is beyond ethics and morals. However; The so-called “Pirith” chants are heard in every corner of the country, not even miles away from “meat boards on the roadside”. There are plenty of “Pirith chanting” loudspeakers. Hypocrisy is governing in my home country today than anytimes in the past.

The frontline idiots (Peratugami BPs) are making every effort to rabblerouse police and army retirees. Their contention is that the current government is making every effort to get its hands on the pension fund of former government employees.

Any country had to sacrifice everything in the development process of its country. The Germans revealed that they started working for a cup of porridge.

Our stupid sons claim to be educated and argue and argue and do not allow anything to be done for the advancement of the nation.

These front dogs were also instrumental in destroying the struggle (Aragalaya) of youth to end up like putting a drop of dung in a pot full of “cow’s milk”.

For the past three decades, university students have been tortured by frontline dogs. Some students have committed suicide or left the country for other destinations not being able to face brutal raggings led by PERATUGAMI dogs. To me they are no different to the murderous JVPs who killed over 50,000 youths in this country in 1989.

“Rajan, don’t waste time on the Human Rights hypocrisy show in Geneva that the USAID and EU funded NGOs talk up! “

I think whoever follows Geneva circus also knows this as most of them are not that stupid.
The Geneva biannual ritual is most needed as victims’ kith and kin cannot remember them publicly in Sri Lanka.

So leave it to the the victims to decide how long they would continue the rituals. If that process irritates you, I suggest you get the smart asses who run this country to genuinely form a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

My admiration for Ranil knows no bounds!

One bought some Space Cake for friends and forgot where it was put in the baggage …… we were on pins crossing borders.

              SM,

OC has the same right to support Ranil or anyone …….. just like your right to support JVP/NNP.

You take things too personally. It’s pointless to pick a fight with OC and try to convert him. Even if you manage to convert him what good will it do? He is just one person ……. our problems are bigger than just one person’s convictions/preferences.

                Dear NF,
                .
It should be JVP/NPP (Jathika Jana balawegaya (JJB))

A knife can kill a person and can be used to save a life. All this is still not clear to our SM. It was there that I realized he was suffering from a rare form of cognitive impairment.

And now I really don’t know what is left to be destroyed by RW…. The midfield front has been looted to an uncountable level. My concern is when will people truly realize the extent of the damage that “kill the dog” has done to this nation on purpose.
                .
Unfortunately, our beloved SM is not trained to grasp it. Some take longer than others to grasp the basics. These were the wise words of my beloved mum who is now in heaven.

I did not want to bring this up, but you made it necessary
Many months ago, you named my ethnic identity and said that I should be thankful for being tolerated here.
I responded it in light vein, and you accused me of trying to blackmail you– more than once.
You have accused me of all sorts of things earlier, but I ignore malicious personal attacks. I hate being patronized more than being insulted.
I stopped responding to you since your unprovoked remark on my ethnicity.

Why are you invoking another person here?
I do not resort to personal attack. I stick to issues, even when abused. I do have a good laugh at the name-caller. Please note that my dealings with any other do not await your judgment.
                  BTW
I have read and responded to “Jaffna Man”. If you find it hard to digest what emerged, you may try an antacid— from each according to his/her/its ability I guess.

        Dinuk,
Rajan is not wasting his time, it is Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan politicians are wasting the people’s money for their existence and to cheat people. Our politicians need this game to maximise their financial assets and to make sure that people are kept under dark. Our politicians are funded by both West and East.

          .
I was greatly impressed with Ven, Smantha Badra’s pragmatism.
          .
He doesn’t bring any politicians into this. I could even find this temple, and visit it. Within about half a mile of Professor Kumar David’s home.
          .
Two queries: how does he maintain so much control over the thousands present. Their co-operation may be owing to his charisma. No problem.
          .
But secondly: why does he rail against the Aragalaya at the end, and say that it should be outlawed in the Western Province? Ranil’s Presidency is a political problem, which SamanthaBadra should steer clear of.

                OC,
I will ask one more question.. RW is at the ADB meeting in Manila now. Why are Sri Lankan television channels giving it no publicity?

If a Rajapaksa goes to a toilet meeting, it becomes breaking news on those TV channels. . Don’t you think Sri Lankan media is biased? And they work with Rajapaksa. Why even the country’s media experts do not say a single word about this? I think he is the chairman of the meeting. Although many disagree, it is all about our country on the international stage.

                    OC,
                    .
I think of the Sri Lankan media’s trip to Medamulana Cave for their “Bali Thowila” rather than what world leaders discussed with the current president of the UK, Japan and the Philippines. A controversial figure in India, Dr. Coomaraswamy often intervenes in Sri Lanka’s affairs. Do you remember how he secretly invited middlemen to India after he was sworn in as Prime Minister amid the October 2018 coup d’état … Sri Lankan press received little information and no proper response from the press. A media mafia in Sri Lanka is becoming a real threat to our people.

Until he became a president he spoke of different and when after becoming president he is following the same policy that the crrent Goverment was doing. When a man is denied the right to peach due manmade poverty the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw. Perhaps to ‘lay’ the worm in all the Governors of ADB nations when they meet in ONE GO??!! Isn’t it GOOD?? Instead of separate trips to meet each of them?!! More costly and time consuming.
Good choice, when TIME is the element – to alleviate starvation dirth of essentials!! You will no doubt agree!!??

President is on his begging mission.
Don’t you see a begging bowl in his hand?

While president is on begging mission the archaeological dept, forestry dept, army, police …. are on a land grabbing mission. All these state institutions have jointly grabbed lands from farmers. The irony is government wants every farmer to produce more.

      Burt,
      .
What do you expect from him at this critical moment in the nation?
If he does nothing, he will be attacked for doing nothing by making every effort to win the hearts of rich nations.
      -.
Any leader elected justly or unjustly has to go to other leaders to fill the begging, otherwise the stupid masses will starve prematurely.

The good thing is that RW did not go to UK with a plane load like Mahinda did that day. Remember? He did not waste more than necessary in Japan. But you were silent about Mahinda`s BolongeItaly visit last year. We got to know that state wasted over 40 millions of rupees pleasing “Medamulana Animal”.

Since RW was made the President he had given oxygen and revived the Rajapaksas and his stooges.
He too is very thankful to SLPP for getting him the Post of President of SL. His brain is mainly concentrated on how to protect ALL THOSE CROOKED CRIMINAL politicians and businessmen. He is using the Defence forces not to protect the innocent SL citizens but to protect THEMSELVES.
We have already mentioned to RW the RIGHT ROUTE to take for the country to get out the deep hole/shit.

There is no point talking about human rights in a country where courts issue judgements before hearing the case. Nominations are given to run for office to Drug dealers, Hooch peddlers, murders, chain snatchers, cattle thieves, sand thieves etc. and the idiot voters sent all these assorted scoundrels straight to parliament to be MPs. If given a chance they will do it again. The country is bankrupt but the unions are against privatization to guard their perks. The entire government runs at a massive loss. Corruption is now accepted and no action can be taken because the above mentioned scoundrels consider it their right to indulge in corrupt deals. If the current economic rescue fails and there is a good chance it will due to the pathetic state of the greedy political class of uneducated mutts then Sri Lanka will descend into lawless anarchy and remain that way for eternity. Human Rights will be a far off unachievable dream.

The country is bankrupt, people are starving, however, these Chingkalla Poutha Chauvinists who created all these problems are now trying again to come back by rallying the Chingkallams under the banner of Chingkalla Poutha Chauvinism. They are stating Kurunthurmalai as well as the rest of the north and east does not belong to the Thamizh and the entire island is Chingkallam and Buddhist and all ancient Buddhist relics, real, imagined and concocted. First of all from ancient times The north and east of the island had always been the homeland of the native indigenous Eezham Thamizh who evolved here as a people. Even their Mahavamsa fable, which is full of anti-Thamizh diatribes, acknowledges the historical fact that the lands to the north and east of the island are the lands of the Thamizh. Now these opportunistic, destructive racists who used the Chingkalla Poutha racist card, and ruined the island and made it bankrupt, whilst conveniently looting all the wealth for themselves and their families and enjoying the good life, are now trying to even rewrite their own racist bible, to suit their agenda. The Portuguese, the Dutch, the British and even after the so-called independence. Local and international agreements like the BC and Dudley Chelvanygam pact, as well as the 1987 Indo-Sri Lankan agreement, all agree the north and the east is the historical homeland of native Eezham Thamizh.

There is a litany of injustices that have been perpetrated on a hapless people over the years. There is only a simple solution to all these problems. We must start again from zero. For that, the intelligent, educated and largely disenfranchised youth must take back their country from the utterly corrupt, parasitic political and allied classes that have ruined the country. There is no time for niceties and splitting of hairs about smaller issues while the elephant in the room runs amok. With escalating national woes that has brought on the horrific humanitarian crisis of seven million people starving and a whole generation of school-age children becoming stunted, malnourished and weak, with hundreds dying daily from treatable conditions for lack of basic medication, the people must unite, bite the bullet and surge forward as one, to wipe the slate clean.

  • 6
    1

Now history is being rewritten by these Chingkalla Poutha racists, backed up by people in power.

Despite extensive digging by the so-called Archaeological Department, no ancient Buddhist relic has been found, yet they insist that this strategic rich agricultural ancient Hindu Thamizh area. was once Chingkallam and Buddhist, when there is no history of this, anywhere, as like once Thamizh Manal Aru now renamed Welioya, after the Thamizh were ethnically cleansed in the 1990s, this area links the Thamizh north and east. This is the reason behind all these fake claims. After digging extensively they were only able to find an ancient eight-sided Sival Lingam, typical of the Pallava era, very similar to the Pallava era lingams excavated in Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra. Obvious to anyone that this is an ancient Siva temple and of course, there will be a Siva Lingam but they deny this and come up with some tale this is the top of a pillar typical of the Anuradhapura era so proof that this area was once Buddhist and Chingkallam. What an absurd and stupid conclusion, so what happened to the bottom part of the pillar and other pillars or ruins?

    • 5
      0

You mean a top of a pillar very strangely looking like a Pallava era Siva Lingam, that too in an ancient Siva temple, strangely is the only thing found but nothing else with no other ruins, proving this is utter lies and rubbish. There is no history of any Chingkallams ever living in these regions prior to independence and all the ancient ruins in the north and east both Hindu and Buddhist belong to the local Thamizh, now being falsely claimed by the Chingkallams as theirs. Only the Buddhist structures built after independence, especially in the last 30 years are Chingkallam. Trying to claim the North and East and the Kurunthoor Malai area is not Thamizh but Chingkallam, is like the English stating Wales and Scotland is theirs and does not belong to the Welsh or Scots and denying these people’s history, culture, language and homeland this is very dangerous.

Generating resolutions alone will not be successful as successive SL Governments have promised so many times to the UN: carrying out various actions which never materialize. They are only lies and promises that will never be implemented. I am sure the UN is not made of stupids! If UN wants any action it should get the SL Govt to give definite dates to implement the following:
    1. Date on which PTA will be removed.
    2. Date on which Truth and Reconciliation commission’s actions will be completed
    3. Date on which legal actions against the corrupt and those who stole money will be brought before the courts.
    4. Date on which legal action against those who brought about the economic fall will be brought before the courts.

Unless these are not agreed upon with the Govt of SL nothing will happen. If SL Govt does not agree to this in the absence of the security council not moving towards this member countries should bring about very stringent actions against the SL Govt, its ministers, judges, and police officers.

The fundamental reason for all the bad things happening is because of the failure of the Police and Judiciary.

I fully support UNHRC’s reference to “economic crimes and corruption” that led to economic collapse in Sri Lanka. It is no secret that a good chunk of foreign loans have ended up in the pockets of politicians. Therefore, it is imperative to have international assistance to recover the money stolen from public coffers and stashed away in foreign countries and/or invested in movable and immovable assets.

I vehemently oppose the proposal to repeal PTA which successfully prevented LTTE resurrection so far.
Sri Lanka hasn’t even started an investigation into genocide committed by the LTTE in Sinhalese villages in the North and East. The below-mentioned 39 LTTE massacres that killed Sinhalese civilians still remain uninvestigated.

Yes, Champa; upto the time that Prabhakaran was killed, we were scared of bombs going off indiscriminately.
      .
I was scared. That was a horrible strategy that he adopted. But now that it’s all past, I tell myself that there was a strategy for him to achieve a political goal. We must come to terms with that past. We, Sinhalese, ought never to have run the country in such a way as to make Tamil people so desperate. And let’s remember that there were atrocities committed by both sides.
      .
This land belongs to us all.
      .
A few people whom I knew were killed, but we have to move on. The agony was there at that time, but it’s less now.

What is the point of passing resolutions one after another when none of the GoSL controlled by the majority race is NOT prepared to provide JUSTICE to the Tamil /Singhalese speaking victims?
Unless a time frame is given to GoSL to carry out the conditions imposed by the Geneva resolutions, NOTHING is going to happen.

While Sri Lanka grapples with economic issues, there is new development in the Ukraine crisis. This is the sequence of events. First, Mr. Vladimir Putin said that he wanted to end the (war) as soon as possible. Then, four oblasts with predominantly Russian population in the Eastern and Southern Ukraine scheduled Referenda to join Russia. Then, Mr. Putin ordered immediate partial mobilization (I have yet to find out what it means) and threatened to deploy nuclear weapons to protect all Russian territories.
Western leaders and Ukraine’s President have condemned Referenda in Russian controlled territories in Eastern and Southern Ukraine as “sham”. Are they? Nope. My brief research proves that they actually reflect the true feelings of citizens there. Let’s take Crimea as an example. In the 1991 Ukrainian Independence Referendum, only 54% of Crimeans supported independence. In the Referendum held on January 20, 1991 on Restoring Autonomy to Crimea, 93% supported the “Restoration of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as a subject of the USSR”. Since then, Crimeans have been striving to secede from Ukraine and join Russia. The Referendum in 2014 reiterated the sentiments of Crimeans to join Russia. Same goes with other territories of predominantly Russian population.

Mr. Vladimir Putin is so unpredictable. But, there are two predictable things about him: 1) His acts of compassion in victory, and 2) His preemptive moves to protect Russia’s sovereignty and independence.
In the 2014 Russo-Ukraine war in Eastern Ukraine, when 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded by the Russo Army and there was a fear of an imminent massacre or arrest, Mr. Putin intervened and allowed all 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers to retreat unharmed. Then, in June 2022, after Mariupol victory, he ordered the release of 144 prisoners, including 95 who defended the Azovstal Steel Plant. Then, when four oblasts including DPR & LPR announced Referenda to join Russia this week, he ordered the release of 215 Ukrainian POWs and even non-POWs including 108 Azov Nazis. Please compare this with the US Presidents who ordered “no prisoners”, and brutal killings of all surrendered soldiers and civilians in countries that have been invaded by the US and the US led NATO. Twelve (12) million people have been killed in Congo itself. One million two hundred thousand (1.2 million) people have been killed in Iraq. Three hundred thousand (300,000) and 165,000 people have been killed in Yemen and Afghanistan respectively.

The second predictable thing about Mr. Putin is his preemptive move to protect Russia from external threats.
On May 9, 2014, US military-trained Azovs invaded Donbass and formed a military regime there. Since then, Donbass citizens were subjected to oppression and genocide. Mr. Putin’s swift action to annex Crimea in 2014 saved Crimea from facing a similar predicament. Then, in February 2022, he launched a special military operation in Ukraine to liberate Donbass citizens from the Ukraine government’s aggression and also to thwart any attack on Crimea. Apart from that, I have observed four other ‘extraordinary’ measures taken by Mr. Putin. a) His decision to not destroy critical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and keep local administration structure intact b) Avoidance of targetting civilians c) Spending 2-4 weeks to evacuate people before attacking a city and the use of air sirens to alert people of any such attacks d) His decision to use heavy calibre war machines to save Russian soldiers from being easy targets of Ukrainian forces.
Why did I mention all these? I am trying to analyze Mr. Putin’s military call up and his threat to deploy nuclear weapons in Russian controlled territories in Ukraine upon their annexation.

          1. India annexing our Northern Province

          Or:
          2. The Northern Province declaring independence

            4) Champa syndrome CS (we are 2500 years heritage folks… we are powerful, and western became that powerful after robbing our assets… she thinks manipulated buddhism aka sinhala buddhism should be the life style ) -Truth is – It is not Buddhism, it is miles away from real Buddhism.

Oh, I expected your lame argument.
First of all, you have no right to question my right to freedom of expression. I didn’t violate any laws. My comments are a “repayment of kindness to Russia” for using veto power to save Sri Lanka at the UNSC. If not for Russia and China, western countries could have even imposed sanctions against Sri Lanka for eliminating LTTE from our soil. The collapse of the LTTE marked a drastic decline in arms sales and illegal drug trade which may have been a pain to some.
            Re: your lame argument.
            a) Unlike Eastern and Southern Ukraine, Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern Provinces were neither a territory under India nor a gift from India.
            b) In 1987, India signed an international agreement called “Indo-Lanka Peace Accord” agreeing to enter Sri Lanka’s sea, air and land ONLY BY INVITATION thus accepting that Indians have no claim in Sri Lanka. Therefore, India annexing Northern and Eastern Provinces are out of question.

                c) As proved by Portuguese and Dutch documentary evidence, Sinhalese Buddhists were the natives of North and East until Dutch invaders chased Sinhalese paddy farmers from North and East and brought Indian Malabari labourers from South India to grow tobacco. Both the Dutch and the British destroyed almost all ancient Buddhist temples in North and East to create a new history for Malabaris there. The Sinhalese were completely discriminated against in the Northern Province denying lands and even Buddhist temples that have existed thousands of years ago.

                  d) How do Tamils claim independence in the Northern Province which is not theirs?
Tamils didn’t even exist in Ceylon until 1911. Before that, there were only Indian Malabaris. In the 1900s, there was a suggestion to introduce the term “nationality” to recognize smaller ‘migrant’ communities in Ceylon in addition to the term “race” which was used for the Sinhalese, the native community in Ceylon. As the Superintendent of Census under the British colonial government, Tamil civil servant Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam grabbed this opportunity to divide Indian Malabaris into two “nationalities”; ‘Tamil speaking Muslims’ and ‘Tamil speaking Tamils’. Then he gave the name “Ceylon Tamils” to ‘Tamil Speaking Tamils’, who were previously known as Indian Malabaris.
For decades, the LTTE and Tamil politicians misled the international community with a bogus “Tamil homeland” claiming a separate state in North and East. They were very successful in their ‘bogus claim’ as the voice of the Sinhalese Buddhists didn’t reach the international community.
I am grateful to “Colombo Telegraph” for providing a platform for the Sinhalese Buddhists to present their side of the story, the true history of Sri Lanka, to the world.

This is my short answer to your question.
                    1. According to the “Indo-Lanka Peace Accord” signed between Sri Lanka and India in 1987, India can enter Sri Lanka BY INVITATION ONLY.
                    2. According to the British colonial records, a nationality called Tamils didn’t even exist in Sri Lanka until 1911. Therefore, Tamils or India have no right to claim independence for Tamils in the Northern Province where the original inhabitants were Sinhalese only.

This is the most difficult analysis on something I have written so far. I honestly do not know where to begin. When Mr. Vladimir Putin called up 300,000 reservists, as usual, he didn’t give any clue about his next move. My personal opinion on this matter is entirely based on my own observations listed above.
Let’s begin with the question what made Mr. Putin to launch a special military operation in Ukraine? Provocation! Both President Biden and President Zelensky denied provoking the ‘war’ in Ukraine. If NATO’s expansion towards Russia and Ukraine’s application to NATO membership is not provocation, what is it? What did they expect Mr Putin would do? Fold his hands and wait until NATO builds military bases in Ukraine to attack Russia or take the ONLY available option to protect the sovereignty of his country upon failure of all his previous diplomatic endeavours to settle the issue? This ‘war’ was the choice of Western leaders, not Mr. Putin.

          • 0
            7

My next point is, Russia’s decision to hold long denied referenda in four oblasts of predominantly Russian population in Eastern and Southern Ukraine. I hail Mr. Putin’s encouragement and ardent support to local administrators in DPR, LPR, Kherson & Zaporizhzhya to hold referenda in their regions, which is the MOST SENSIBLE COURSE OF ACTION to avoid further bloodshed. Donbass citizens who were under Ukraine military shelling, oppression and genocide since 2014, fully deserve to live in peace. The Ukraine government had ample time to hold a Referendum in Donbass as agreed, but they didn’t do it to avoid its possible outcome. Donbass citizens should be grateful to Head of DPR Denis Pushilin for his courage and determination to strengthen democracy, security, peace, justice and stability in his region and create prosperity to his people. Same goes with Heads of LPR, Kherson & Zaporizhzhya. Mr. Putin vowed to protect all Russian territories including the newly annexed four oblasts, of course, based on the results of Referenda. There is nothing we could do, if he deploys nuclear weapons to provide much needed security to Donbass and other oblasts to end the war with the US led NATO as they dare not antagonize him further.

            • 0
              7

I think Mr. Putin’s decision to call up 300,000 reservists is to secure borders in newly annexed territories in Eastern and Southern Ukraine which is not necessarily an action of escalating the war.
Western media has given wide publicity to the news about Russians fleeing compulsory drafting. Well, I don’t think one thousand cowards fleeing Russia is a big issue for Russia’s military which has 2 million reservists. Ramzan Kadyrov says the number is 5 million. Five million! In any case, battles are for brave warriors, not for cowards. Russians have a history of fighting thousands of battles. Throughout history, millions of Russian soldiers have laid down their lives to protect the ancient Russian empire which included today’s Russia and Ukraine. True blooded Russians who are brave and patriotic will stand by their great leader with great courage and determination to protect Russia’s sovereignty and independence from any future threat from the US led NATO.
As proved by my list of observations mentioned earlier, Mr. Putin is not against Ukraine or Ukrainians. True to his words, he will do everything in his power to protect his motherland, including establishing a buffer zone on the Ukrainian side of the border.

Stop posting rubbish. The Sri Lankan Tamils have a long history on the island and have continuously lived in their homeland north and east of the island for over 2300 years or more. Where Tamil kingdoms and chiefdoms were established. Long before the arrival of Europeans and even most of the Sinhalese kings have South Indian Tamil ancestry. All their queens and other consorts are Tamil women from South India. Yes the Portuguese and Dutch imported hundreds of thousands of largely low caste South Indian slave labour from the then Tamil Malabar and Coramandel coasts, to do menial service work, and to work as indentured slave labour in the huge southern spice estates. Very few of them were settled in the Tamil areas, they were all settled along the northwest, western and southern coastal areas and their descendants are the present-day Sinhalese Karawa, Salagma, Durawa, Hali, Hunu, Berewa, and many other communities. Now making up approximately half the present-day Sinhalese.

                • 1
                  1

Even the ancestors of many of the so-called Sinhalese upper caste and aristocrats arrived from Tamil South India during this era EG. Neela Perumal, Thambi Mudaliar, as well as lots of Tamil Pandarams and Naickers. The Sinhalese population on the island almost doubled within a few centuries after the arrival of the Portuguese and Dutch, due to the assimilation into the Sinhalese identity by all these low and high born, South Indian Tamil immigrants. Now, most of these recently Sinhalized descendants of South Indian Tamil immigrants are card-carrying Sinhalese Buddhists and Fascists beating the anti-Tamil drum against the island’s native indigenous Tamils from the north and east. Stating they do not belong and should be sent away to Tamil Nadu, ironically the very same place from where most of their ancestors originated a few centuries ago. Now creating all sorts of myths about ancient Sinhalese lands and mythical Buddhist Viharas in the north and east, to forcibly acquire Tamil lands in these areas. We can see Mutukarrupan and the new Kakkai Vanna( crow colured in Tamil) Admiral ex-Minister General in the forefront, constantly uttering racist anti-Tamil garbage.

    Champawati,

You take a full bath and dive into Chinese Hunu and Russian Cesspool because you sheepishly think that you are very effectively defending the nasty Sinhala Buddhism . Everybody in this webpage is well aware of that. You are only fooling yourself not anybody else, in that situation. Long before Russians went to Crimea, Tamils had settled in Uva. For centuries Tamils ruled Kandy, until the Sinhala Buddhist sold the king and Kingdom to colonialists and collected commission for that under the Kandyan accord. All shore side Sinhala Buddhists are Tamil Nadu Fishermen. Northwest has very recently immigrated cinnamon peeling workers from Tamil Nadu. Now, if India wants to conduct a referendum to annex the Northwest, Uva and Kandy, to your famous Toilet Nadu, what is going to happen? After all it is Karunanidhi’s son, Stalin’s alms you are eating during this famine. Would you be faithful enough to live with Stalin? Anyway, why am I talking about faith with a SinhaLE, Sinhala Buddhists, the Lion’s descendants. You have no idea which Taravai in Tamil Nadu you came from. So, you are writing Russian history and Chinese history. Remember, in 2019, Evil Ranil who went to Oxford University to rewrite Ehelepola Colonialism, now begging the Colonialist for a time meal?

The case filed against him on this is dismissed because the jungle law constitution of Wildlife Sanctuary, Langkang does not allow a Lion King being sued at a Sinhala Only Jury court of law. But unlike you, shameless Evil Ranil is feeling shy to face world leaders, face to face and beg, so he hired a rotten Muslim Lawyer to do the begging job for him. From the Muslim leaders, always, at least, two or three beggar coolies will be available to work for Evils Kings of the SinhaLE. Their contribution to the country’s destruction is limitless.

“First, Mr. Vladimir Putin said that he wanted to end the (war) as soon as possible. Then, four oblasts with predominantly Russian population in the Eastern and Southern Ukraine scheduled Referenda to join Russia. Then, Mr. Putin ordered immediate partial mobilization and threatened to deploy nuclear weapons to protect all Russian territories. “ ……..” Mr. Vladimir Putin is so unpredictable. “ But remember still President Putin has some predictable elements (for Ex: if he promises to world leaders that he will not invade Ukraine, that means he is ready for that job), but your blabbering in the CT is always one color a day.

Sinhala Intellectuals have been fooling the powerful nations worse than President Putin doing. Please be aware, if a third world war starts, and nuclear arsenals are being used in that then for sure, some of them will be delivered to Langkang too, by express parcel post. Be ready to bend and receive it on your back. That will be your prize for successfully setting up the world’s superpowers one on another.

Evil Ranil is worse than a devil. He is going to Britain. He is going to Japan. He is going to Manilla. He did not want to go to Geneva or New York for UN meetings. Mannila meeting is for Central Bank Governors of ADB bank countries, which was scheduled to take place in Colombo. But the countries changed the venue to Manilla. This is the third international event that changed its venue out of Colombo, within the last few months. Tell me something about this fallout, how many billions the tourism ministry spent on bringing these get-together to Colombo?

Please stop writing bombastic political lies to show that you are a pundit in dealing with Putin’s toilet room pudding. That is making you as the leader of Prof. Kumar, UOJ Sadampi’s club. Instead, start to explain to the IC what falls the Wildlife Sanctuary has faced by your leaders and how can the IC correct and fix these corrupt criminals. Send a suggestion to UNHRC what other crimes they can add to the new resolution, beyond War Crime, Human rights violation & Economic Crime. Write to them that your political friends are destroying the country with institutionalized massive narcotics dealing and international money laundering.

Without Protestors winning the Ceylon government, there is no more life in Ceylon for Sinhalese. Without an international inquiry on war crimes, there is no life for Tamils in Ceylon.

My apologies to Russia. I noticed this only when I read my comments the second time.
I made an error in one of my observations which was listed under c) in my third comment on the Ukraine crisis, which should read as follows:

    c) Spending 2-4 weeks to evacuate people before attacking “specific military targets” (not cities) and the use of air sirens to alert people well in advance of any such attacks. Russia’s Defence Ministry has a comprehensive list of all its attacks, time and date and the number of casualties, if any.

Another apology to Russia. Apparently, Russians who flee the country are not cowards. They are fleeing for fear of being wrongly drafted. That is what I gathered from Mr. Putin’s earlier statement, who took responsibility for the situation and promised to correct all anomalies caused in the drafting process.
