Sagala Protecting Gamini Senarath Further Sours UNP-SLFP Row

The current tensions between the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party which together make the ‘Good Governance Government’ were further exacerbated when President Maithripala Sirisena scoffed at the peace-making efforts of three UNP ministers, UNP Chairman Malik Samarawickrema, General Secretary Kabir Hashim and Mangala Samaraweera, charging that Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development had been harbouring former Chief of Staff of former president, Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Sagala Ratnayaka – Minister of Law & Order

The UNP ministers had met President Sirisena last week to iron out differences in the midst of whispers that the coalition was in danger of imminent collapse.

Former President’s Chief of Staff, Gamini Senarath, who has been named as a suspects in a case at the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court alleging that they had misused Rs.4 billion in government funds, was absconding before appearing in court on Wednesday

It is reported that intelligence officers who had been watching Senarath’s movements had followed him to Minister Sagala Ratnayaka’s residence in the ‘salubrious hills of the deep south.’ (By Renuka Jayasinghe)

This homosexual faggot together with the rest of his pack – RW, Malik et al are a bane of Sri Lankan society. President Srisena – please form a pact with the many talented UNP back benchers, dish out all this pack of faggots to rot in their disdain and go forward. Get rid of RW et al. The country needs “honest people of integrity who love country before self and family” Though you may be far from it – at least you appear to be the best of rot. Get your act, it is not too late to make a drastic turn of things. END CORRUPTION, be bold and take those decisions fearlessly.

President should have sacked Sagala long time ago. In fact, the Cabinet is in need of a change.
        .
Ranil has agreed to go before the Bond Commission as his name is involved in the Bond scam pretty much as the main culprit, which is more than enough for the President to send him on LOA so that Bond Commission and the AG’s Dept. can initiate action without fear of reprisal.
        .
In Ranil’s place, President can appoint an Acting PM. Some people talk about Mangala as the next PM. HELL NOOOOOO. Mangala is 1000 times worse than Ranil. The Geneva Report, War Crimes Tribunal, OMP, ICPPED, Witness Protection to bogus witnesses fielded by LTTE diaspora, PPP, Removal of Army Camps, Selling our lands to foreigners – it was Mangala who is behind all this.
        .
If Ranil is sent on LOA, the President should appoint someone like “Mahinda Amaraweera as the ACTING Prime Minister.” Fair enough. Besides, it will facilitate President to shuffle the Cabinet as “recommended” by the Acting PM (ok, that is what the 19th Amendment says). As the President is not allowed to dissolve the Parliament as per 19A which was supported by JO-UPFA faction at the time, this is the only option left for the President, which will be supported by the general public enormously.
        .
Country should be governed by the President, not by Ranil or MR/JO who shamelessly exploit people’s vulnerabilities to cheap political gain, rather than fighting the government on principle. In fact, MR/JO have no confidence to face the Presidential Election. That is why they go for unscrupulous ways to weaken the Executive President and support Federal Constitution to abolish or if not elect the President from the Parliament even at the expense of the country/Sinhalese which exhibits their selfishness/greed for power.

President should appoint Harsha de Silva as the PM /

          • 2
            3

Harsha doesn’t have a practical knowledge on anything. Many times he disputes his own statements. Besides, another PM from the Colombo elite group who know nothing about the working class or ordinary people is not practical at all.
            .
President should never go for another pact with the UNP. This is a definite no, no. Especially he should not let UNP back-benchers to mislead him. They are only after positions and benefits. They come as heroes against corruption and fraud but once they get the opportunity, they will outsmart even Ranil who was widely regarded as a clean man, even by his opponents, until he shocked the country by masterminding the trillion rupee insider-trading Bond Scam abusing his High Office and misusing government money. We saw this right in front of our own eyes. President should never trust UNP again. They are a stereotype selected crowd of people not only corruption-wise but also destructive economic reforms-wise, who take the path of their leader blind faith. Ask them, they don’t know any other path.

Champa, you have forgotten the recent history. Without the UNP Maithreepla would have been another retired Gramamsevake.

These two parties will not allow any capable person outside their social circles to assume power. The problem was that these two parties were led by decent people until Dudley S died.

Well said. What has Ranil and the lot done for this country during the last two years? The Hambantota deal could have been handled more diplomatically. The SAITUM issue should have been handled with information on what is happening elsewhere in the world.Malcolm Naki, the official gardener who was the surgeon assisting in the first heart transplant should have been discussed not whether they have Science subjects at the AL.

            This is a jokers paradise.

They promised to open the road at Kandy after the elections, now they are scared of that man at Asgiriya. Are we being run by thugs?

Fully agree. Turn of things are contrary to what Yahapalanaya promised. The country had to have a change from Rajapakshas in 2015 without a doubt. But all those who voted the present regime did not give them a mandate to be corrupt & make sickening deals with the bunch of crooks who ruined the country putting it in an unfathomable debt trap! His sleeping with anyone is not our problem, but we cannot allow him taking this country to an irreversible disaster. Time is ripe for President to use his executive powers & do what is necessary to save the country from brink of disaster! We UNPers will back you up Sir!

How can he do it, with a bunch of ministers appointed by him to be part of his adminsitration ?

Are u just bubbling Nic ? We have to accept it we can separate good guys in lanken politics anymore.
We need Duterte style fearless men to sacrifice for the nation. Then the rest will come in the next bunch. .
At least to clear the path SHOULD long HAVE been done by My3:
He has failed to do it as promised being part of Late golden son of th enation – Rev Sobitha Thero.
Had Rev. Sobitha thero been alive by today, would he have been happier the way, My3 not reacting puting Rajapakshe in Jails ?
      No not at all.

How had it been today, if the current govt immediately, prisoned Rajapakshes and all other culprits that have now been taking the ground as if they should be the real opposition of the country ?

Do anyone in that JO bunch have rights to behave so, with the bunch of allegations levelled at them on various high profile crimes ?

Not a single man in Rajapakshe brutal family including his WIFE is pointed for high crimes.
Where on the earth the country had the kind of ciminal family were praised by fools the way they have even today been ?

Why these people be served with impunity being hidden behind SO CALLED BUDDHISM.?

We need powerful leaders to stand against the high criminals of th eRajapakshe nature. Baste

I think SAGALA is too decent.

So as his both leaders. He cant do much there, since the leaders stay as if they have no balls.

There is no one single fearless action taken by Prez My3 even if he can do so using his executive powers, even today.

RW stays too lifeless as had been during the reign of MUSALAYA Rajapakshe, not reacting adequately.
These two men have been given a mandate to act. Why to protect the bunch of idiots further should be connected with lanken kind of abusive politics that we the ones being outside would hardly get it.

Powerful police with their salaries being made double is the need of the hour.

Then they can stand against any kind of Rajaakshe culprits today behave as if they have been the real patriots.
My foot, a stupid leader who has looted people s funds for his EXTRA VAGANZAs no second to the manner Late Premadasa did.
Even today to be respected as no other, with the mediation of abusive media prostitutes is the problem that the current govt failed yet.
Media prostitutes should be learnt a lession if not today when ?

Fully agree. If what news says correct RW must be behind this drama. SR can’t act alone. It is a shame for 62 Laks who voted for yahapalanaya. We ask Yahapalana President to use executive powers. Irrespective of party politics General Public would gather around you if you take the right decision. You have another option. If you can’t deviate from the agreement with UNP expose culprits. Then General public will decide on them. Also expose SLFP crooks who joined after you won the election. You have enough time to act or otherwise one day you have to repeat the same thing like Mahinda Rajapaksha – (Mage laga file thibuna ape Hamuduruwane) This appeal for UNP back benchers. This is the right time to come forward and expose all crooks in the party and chase the culprits..

President should fire Sagala if he is so sure that this guy is playing a double game. If President Sirisena does not fire him, then he is similar to Mahinda Rajapakse who said he has the files but did not take action. Maithri Palanaya saha Isthawara Ratak will not be delivered if this action is not taken. Over to you Mr. President.

      Ravi,

if he would sack what happened to the former cronies fo Rajapaksh who have been now the part of current cabinet ?

Just simple, if almost everyone is highly corrupted, we cant see any future without a real -arab spring or french revolution the like hunge changes, – a future in this country.

Only way out is , send them home for ever, and give a mandate to a civil society man.
That can save this FESTATED wound like nation.

People are highly corrupted, Their representatves represent the parliament. Some 20% of the society seem to be knolwedgable of the facts and figures of the society.

It is just 1 in every 5.
VOTER ELIBIGLEs are – 15 millions
so just 3 mllion out them are said to be ticking to the right person.
All others have been manipulated by ASTROLOGY and SORCERY.
Latter fraction would lick the balls of SINHALE or Rajapakshe barbarians.

This is the least surprising. Gamini Senarath (GS) and his bandwagon who should have been sentenced much before Lalith Weeratunge (LW). Obviously, he was protected. GS, though it is known that his knowledge of English is next to nothing, was the master manipulator among the bureaucrats under MR. What LW has got himself involved is in the shades when compared to GS and his activities. Obviously he had the extra cash to oil the palms of many to delay the discovery of his nefarious activities. Further, the affiliation among particular section of the Southerners is undeniable. Well History repeats. Everyone now knows why General Macarthur protected Emperor Hirohito at the expense of Tojo and how it was done.

Since you talk about English knowledge, I must insist that when writing or in spoken English one doesn’t use ‘much’ before the adjective ‘before’.

Thank You. Mr. Banda for the correction in language. What I was also trying to say was that just as much as the Japanese Royalty was protected during the aftermath of world war II purge at the expense of some, the Sinhala speaking only guys of the MR bureaucrats were escaped the wrath. MONEY TALKS.

Ya, ya, ya, I am sure Sagala has “no deal” with Rajapaksas, as Mahinda says. Even after sentenced to 3 year RT for misusing Rs. 600 million, Lalith and Anusha went home without spending a day at the prison. Same thing will happen to Gamini Senerath too. Someone should keep a track on MR’s and JO’s foreign trips and compare whether any other Opposition in the past had visited the countries they visited in batches, since 2016 February. There is a tendency for an MP who has no guarantee that he will be elected to the Parliament again, accepting a small bag with a billion or two to sit with the JO. They just have to make an unacceptable monetary or some demand from their side so that they will be kicked out – just an eyewash to people, in case people suspect. Rajapaksas have deals with anybody and everybody. Money talks, but they should remember that there is a limit to everything.
I want President to not to let Ranil to change the Constitution or bring an Amendment that transfers people’s voter power to the Parliament to elect the President through MP’s votes. This should never be allowed as there will be open auctions to buy votes of MPP.
And the Government should divulge their Sutra to find money to pay salaries of 8000 odd more politicians before the LG elections are held. Budget has put burdens on people with more taxes and unstable economic future for mostly rural people and their industries, therefore people have a right to know. For that reason, I wish and pray LG/PC elections will not be held until 2020. Who cares, people managed without LG Bodies for 3 years which proved that they are not as indispensable as JO laments.

By the way, Champawathie, your boy friend Wimal Weerawanse was not present in the cycle teledrama where Meeharaka Rajapakshe led it seeking the attention. Why was that the baggage boy of the man was out of place ? Can you elaborate on this please ? Is he no longer the CONDOM of Rajapakshes ?
Normally, WImal the donkey of the nation had always been supporting Rajapakshes even if he has been singing the song in favour of BEING different to be far different from Rajapakshe mantra.
Who care what you want Chamapwathie, you are just an another woman who practises the oldest profession keeping the abusive even more hell like.

Champo – it is enough now. who were your last night customers ?

I believe punnaku eaters will never learn it until a real change is made to this country. So, in such enviroment just to put the blame only on the DUO is no means right as I see it.
Lanken society is dominated by Champas, Jimbumsies, or the like people.
All those who have the knowledge about the ground reality are the minority.

I have given my hopes. No leaders of typical nature can give a life to the fallen nation.
We need DUTERTES or ANY powerful fearless unbiased men to take the lead.
So long, they would behave like dumbs.

The need of the hour is to get Rajapakshes away from our sights. That is not even approachable when thinking the manner the current men move forward. That is the saddest reality.

Recently DEW Gunasekara, the former Rajapkse heavy weight, made a important statement about those who amazed wealth in unimaginable scale under MR. He pointed the finger at Basir R and then at Gamini Senarath.

This Yahapalana clan has already proved that it will ‘work with the former regime’. If any expects this regime to restore the Rule of Law in this country, it will remain be a dream that will never come true

Ranil has already dug his grave. Before he is dumped into his own grave he would like to take a few along with him for Company. Beware! Maithripala has to blame himself for allowing Ranil to ride the Prime minister’s horse for the past two years. If action was taken immediately , at least after the general elections against those whom you promised to initiate action, ie. against those who plundered an murdered people like Thajudean., Sunday Leader Editor and the like, you could have sat on the saddle of the High Horse of president without feeling the pricks and fear of a coup. Your speech the other day was forceful and Penetrative but it has not yet penetrated the right place. Please fear not to do the right thing at the right time, before it is too late. Be a leader.

At least now people should realise that Ranil W is not a clean person. He is a Wolf in Sheep’s clothing.

Starting from bond scams to protectibg Rajapaksas and their henchman are all done with the full knowledge and instructions of this man.

It is well known Gamini Senerath, Tiru Nadesan etc etc are close friends of this man and he peotects them along with their leaders Mahinda Basil etc. Its a private club. These people are all engaged in highway robbeey of tax payers money.

Poor President Sirisena is the scapegoat in this endeavor. It is high time voters realise these scams and send a very strong message to UNP leadership at the upcoming elections.

Nic. Well said. There is no other way to redeem our country and our people. The way the things are going it is beyond redemption and the very same gang is paving their
way to be back in the saddle.wonder if the president or the Prime minister could take this historic bold step to completely purge the government of these racketeers who have and are still causing irremediable damage to the country and people. Even the justice system is manipulated by the Ministers themselves with scant or no respect for the law. They are brazenly aiding and abetting the day light robberies and ill legal plunder and pillage of country’s dwindling wealth. They should do well to remember that they are equally culpable. However much ,you talk about protecting your religion it will be of no avail , because it is down right hypocrisy. Lord Buddha must be turning in his grave seeing the conduct of his acolytes . It is the bounden duty of the President and the Prime Minister to protect and foster this great Religion not merely by promises to the Venerable Prelates but by their own conduct and good governance promised to the people. There is no other escape route you have to face reality, in short bring justice to all and sundry, People know the game that is being played by the politicians. People know their gimmicks and they pretend as If nothing has happened. Will the President and PM rise up to the occasion to stem the rot and bring strict discipline by putting the Law in motion even under threat of losing power. If you want to come back to lead the country people will support you only if you act with firm courage and determination to bring all accused before the law without any interference. This would be an acid test of your integrity and honesty. This is what the President and PM promised to the Nation. This is the only option left for the two leaders for a honourable solution to rebuild our country and the nation because you the politicians are the master minds of this calamity. May the triple gem bless you.

Before anyone could say Raaa Whee, Gamini Sedara Senarath has
been arrested and remanded for just 24 hours. The Rs 200 million
question is how he escaped arrest until he appeared in Court?

When the AG’s Department ordered his arrest, was he tipped off?
He went into hiding. Who helped with documents and records
(copies of statements) to go to Supreme Court. How much was
    paid for this?

Sometimes fighting corruption is a good job for the khakied gentry
    unlike before.

The superstructure of YP Government is shaky because the sub-structure is not end-bearing piles, which is the best solution for putting up a building in mud. Looks like the UNP is using friction piles without studying the sub-soil. Even with end bearing piles, the ends have to rest on bed rock or firm ground but that is not possible with ends of unnatural living beings.

Still its not late we have another two months before elections, appoint special courts immediately to take up action against the mega deal rogues and give judgement. Get the courts to work day and night. Select the most serious crimes of Rajapakse family members first. This would expose the character of Rajapakse family to the voters and thereby Yahapalana Govt can win votes. President Sirisena should take immediate action.
