Sajith Is The Risk If/After Two-Thirds Is Defeated

By Kumar David

Prof. Kumar David

The first priority for all who abhor dictatorship is to defeat government attempts to grab 2/3rds on 5 August. No one can predict exactly but I have still to meet anyone who was sure the SLPP will succeed in its quest for 2/3. The response of the politically informed and the 3-wheeler chap is “No problem we (or “they” depending on the person’s side) will buy MPs”. If it’s a small number a simple cash transaction is envisaged but if 20 or more votes are needed Sajith Premadasa’s cross-over proclivities are deemed worthy of pursuit. Yes, if the going gets tough for GR on the personalised MP-trading free-market the most likely wholesale deal is an auction for Sajith/SJB. Will Sajith and the SJB sell? At what price? If Sajith sells himself how many in the SJB will follow?

Sure there is plenty of bad blood between MR and Sajith about who loved the Tamils more (or should it read less?), who freed Pilayan, who had a secret deal with M.L.A.M. Hizbullah and does Sajith have a secret plan in his manifesto to divide the country. On the last point a demented MR will utter anything!  Indeed, anything to do with exploiting anti-Tamil or anti-Muslims vote-catching odium that either can hurl at the other is fair game. This is Mother Lanka! Experience the dirt online at numerous websites.

But when it comes to crunch time will this stand in Sajith’s way in fashioning a deal with Gotabaya Rajapaksa to repeal 19A and/or to enact an altogether new constitution? Sajith’s manifesto is as silent as the tomb on constitutional issues; it is fair game to surmise that his door is open to a Gota seduction proposal. The constitutional issue is the hottest in the election arena so Sajith’s silence is deafening and is it more reasonable to conclude that he is open to a pact with Gota or to give him the benefit of the doubt? The Sajith-MR spat is passing turbulence in a chamber-pot. I asked a grouchy old friend for his take and got this response “The ageing Rajapaksas are not going to give a leg up to an ambitious young Premadasa. If they don’t get 2/3 they will use him to make up the shortfall in Parliament and then put him out in the cold and out of business”. We are dealing with known-unknowns!

Things will move fast after the election. If Gota clobbers together 2/3, with or without Sajith’s connivance, the tempo and the temper that will be unleashed can be gauged from the screeching of Donald Trump forces in the US. Here is an example from “Trump Breaking News” of 23 July 2020.

“Our cities are being destroyed and Democrat mayors and officials are defunding the police and encouraging the vandals and the arsonists, calling them “peaceful protesters.” This new civil war now pits those of us who love our country and want a Constitutional government, as envisioned by our Founders, against those who would destroy our very civilization and freedoms. Donald Trump is now the defender of our laws and our country, the leader of those of us who believe in America and want to keep our Constitution, and want our cities to be safe again. He is our leader and freedom fighter!”

You can well foresee the sadhu-sadhus, ranaviru kumarayas, hallelujahs, hosannas and haro-harras that will fill the air when the day of Gota’s coronation as per 20-th Amendment dawns. Sajith will go with the flow. There is nothing in his life story, his temperament or his current campaign utterances to match the Old-Left. There is none of Philip’s blood curdling defiance, NM’s cool scholarship, Peiter’s elegance or Colvin’s fiery rhetoric in the man. Style is the man; we cannot lean on Sajith to lead against dictatorship if, god forbid, the need arises. He does not even have the grit of old-man Ranasinghe Premadasa.

This is not intended to be an anti-Sajith diatribe but a genuine expression of anxiety. If you are a UNPer who longs to pension off jaded Ranil and date Sajith, that’s up to you and good luck if you have faith that he will stand tall against Gota. Still I am curious why you stop half way and not move all the way to link with those can be trusted to stand firm to resist autocracy. I must stop, I am an NPP National List candidate so I must keep my column augmentatively political and analytically nonpartisan.

The writer foresees that Sajith and company might be a part of the Government. He further foresees that there would be horse trading. As the author could well be aware that there are two main factors that could motivate a person. First power of motion is the attraction of sweeteners given as envisaged by the author. Second is the threat of punishment. Other websites report that already a “Committee of Investigators” have recommended legal action against individuals responsible for the “misappropriation” of funds in the Cultural Fund. So depending on the situation it could be Sajith and Company could be bought cheaply, that is two thirds or no two thirds their support may be coerced for snubbing the 19A without even joining the government if MR & Co wins with a sizeable majority. Is politics of coercion anything new? NO. Support for the Ceylon Citizenship act by some was obtained upon showing a dossier of personal wealth in France of a leader of a political party. The method is even older than that in the world history.

      Good Sense,
I understand the logic behind the argument of yours and Prof.Kumar David. There is a risk for voting to Sajith as well as Ranil both are possible candidates go will join the Mahinda regime. However, both are from UNP and UNP voters are not going vote for JVP or SLPP. Further Tamils out of North East and Muslims are with Sajith and their candidates were ministers in the previous government. Mahinda @ Gota are capable of putting all inside the jail whether they have done anything wrong or not. So the risk for them being part of Mahinda regime is always going to be there unless they support Mahinda to get two third majority. The current JVP vote bank can only enough to get less than 10. Unless there is massive change in the voting, it is impossible to stop Mahinda Family dictatorship unless all people understand the consequences of a Mahinda family dictatorship. It is up to the Sinhala people to decide their future because the consequences are definitely going to be unimaginably and extremely difficult to survive.

        Ajith,
Get lost. I have heard this many times before. Didn’t you and others try your best to convince this t the nation? What went wrong? Where are those who claimed that sinhalaya ‘s IQ is 67%? Just accept it and agree to work as a nation. Not as racist groups. We have gone through before and it is time your party realise to think as a one nation.

Are you into giving English with elocution lessons to your Tamil brethren now?
Think this looks better than what you were doing peddling cheap drugs to patients in SriLanka.

      Dear Prof. KD,
      .
anxiety is started since 69 lacks of voters elected the most abusive men with on going high crime investigations as of mid of Nov 2019. People should learn to live with it. I think people s indifference nature punishes them this time breaking all records.
      .
Any civilized world, when nominating the candidates for elections, be them PEs or GEs, they consider if the candidates have any kind of stains in their PROFILEs. Looking back we know over 80% of SLPP candidates are either high criminals or alleged high criminals not forgetting both President and Prime Minister
      :
Unfortunately, for some reasons, for the last 15 years, the majority of among the nominees for the elections be them PEs, GEs or PSEs (Pradheshiya saba elections or local elections) the majortiy of candidates are thugs, robbers, murderers, rapists, or ones alleged high criminals … this proves well, people too are to be blamed for the appalling levels of the society reaches as of today.

We point the finger at Pakistanis, african states and like minded nation in Latin America but SRILANKENS and their fate to become somalians or the like is this time inevitable.

As of today, vote catching is on the wane. What is waxing is member baiting. The angler, on the winning streak in November, knows his strength and his target. Not a day later than 12th, he will have his numbers in the kitty. Guesswork thereafter will be 3/4 or 4/5 or WHATMORE?

The link to an excellent English language TV interview on  27 July
    .
    https://youtu.be/5ncoBHQcnn8
    .
Slightly less than half an hour of common sense in impeccable English.
    .

It is true that there are other people who are honest.  This is Nagananda speaking recently.  He is leading Colombo District Independent Group 7.  This is more than an hour of his recent interview.  I met him before his candidature for the Presidential Election got sabotaged.  That he is absolutely I’m convinced. See what happened to him?   Never mind, read this article:

    https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/was-the-presidential-election-free-and-fair-when-colombo-returning-officer-called-sajith-premadasa-the-son-of-a-donkey-asks-prof-hoole/
    .
However, this is more manageable than what I listed earlier.
    .
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHDj49muIdY
    .
This is only 15 minutes, in Sinhalese, so it will be a quicker way of checking his credentials.  He names some of his candidates, but not one of my classmates, Sunil Jayasundera, who was in school with me for two years.
    .
The question is, will these guys get anywhere? I think not.
    .
I’m not wasting my vote. I will vote for the Telephone in the Badulla Disrtict.

      Mr. Panini Edirisinghe,
      .
      First of all…
You ARE wasting your vote by voting for telephone. It’s just simple mathematics.
SJB is just going through the motions of election. It’s already defeated. Most of it’s candidates are going to lose their UNP membership in next 2 days. All local government members will go back to UNP to protect their seats.
      .
      As of prof. KD….
He is a supporter of AKD’s JVP. So he has to support their leader RW.

Thanks, S.C. Pasqual, but I don’t accept your estimates.
        .
In promising to put on comments by Nagananda Kodituwakku, I had made a bit of a hash of it. Well, here’s his latest, just yesterday, with Faraz Shaukatali:
        .
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDh6Y-jE3OM
        .
I found that the earlier link to the Kumar David interview no longer works, but the one provided by Native Vedda works.
        .
We old fellows don’t know how some of these new-fangled things work, but then we know things that younger people don’t. So, please let’s all display humility, earnestness, sincerity and commitment.

What worked yesterday won’t work today. Try not to be too bitter about the past – an appeal I make especially to the Tamil community.

Thanks very much Native Veddah for giving a different link,
      .
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ncoBHQcnn8&feature=youtu.be
      .
that leads to the same “impeccable English” link as I have given above. I put it that way thinking that it would lead curious readers to listen to that same interview.
      .
It’s excellent, but we need more of Kumar David on Internet and T.V. to get across to all citizens (some of whom, committed SLPP supporters like Pasqual) will not pay heed. So, what you have given neatly complements what I have stated.
      .
Please remember to make comments below the Youtube as well. Remember that many would have got there independently of us, and may never come across what I’m writing here. Also, we may get that tiresome Faraz Shauketali and his Sirasa group to give us more.
      .
What Kumar is stating must be got across in Sinhala. Here is just 8 effective minutes in Sinhalese:

        .
The article is properly linked. I don’t know the guy, but who knows, he may be a close relative since my father came from Baddegama, and Kenneth de Lanerolle told me that he was my relative.

      .

There are no superior or inferior languages, we need Tamil, too. Rajan Hoole from Jaffna, has had the same message put on twice, below this. I’m increasingly realising that we are old; these messages must now be taken up by younger people using the three languages that matter in our country, and through all possible media.
      .
Also, by telling people, even perfect strangers, about the importance of using their vital vote (worth exactly the same as ours) to think about first the party to vote for, and then to look themselves for the best three individuals to cast Preferences for.
      .
We all think that we know much more than the man in the street. Probably wrong. In any case, not the attitude that we should adopt. There’s little point in talking all this to people who in any case are our friends, and think the way we do.

      PART 3 of 4
      .
We’ve got to set people who think somewhat differently from us thinking seriously the long-term effects of their actions. Here’s the admirable JVPer from the Matara District, Sunil Handunetti (his area being the very different Deniyaya) speaking of the problems that the JVP faces – 45 minutes in Sinhala. The Party often doesn’t get enough votes in any one District to get representatives in from their own area. The JVP putting Handunetti in as a National List Member is clearly different from some other party (I’ve now forgotten which!) nominating the clearly rejected S.B. Dissanayake. That particular “professional politician” has jumped parties so many times that I cannot remember which of the two main parties was responsible.
      .
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkwQHgeDFs8
      .
That was Sunil Handunetti in Sinhala.
      .
The SJB breaking away was different. Given the stubbornness of Ranil Wickremasinghe, there was no other option. Please try to talk as little as possible of that rump UNP. What is now necessary is to get the positive message across.

          Thanks, LM.

          .
I will listen to it all – a little later.
          .
It is a 1 hour 54 minute video centred upon Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who also is a good man. I will use my dongle data to listen after midnight on my notebook. Right now I find it easy to type on the desktop using ADSL. You see, we poor fellows can’t afford too much Data. Right now, I’m working with purchased extra data.
          .
Both computers are used machines operating on Windows 7 and free Open Office. I’m forced to use some hacked software, but I use the legal Open Office. The laptop that I have in Maharagama was gifted to be by my sister in Sydney. It legally runs Windows 8.1. They could have upgraded it to Windows 10, but had forgotten to do so. I feel that they had hardly used that computer. It had Office 365. For that one has to pay Rs 9,000 per year. So, I have removed that and installed the free libreoffice.

          PART TWO
          .
I find that even better than Open Office. Neither is in any way inferior to MS Office, and I get all the updates. However much one tells Sri Lankans, they don’t listen. They would rather pirate the well-known brand, which Bill Gates & Co. probably know about – but perhaps they’re not such bad people.
For reasons such s these many voters cannot access even what they want to.
          .
I’m sure that you can afford the data, but how do you find the time?
          .
I must also explain to “Tamils” that this is all in Sinhala. So a man like Prof. Jeevan Hoole will not understand a word of it, but Dr Rajan Hooole will.
          .
We, Sri Lankans, are one people divided by two Swabashas. Those of us who understand English are fortunate in that respect.
          .
I have met Sunil Handunetti once only, many years ago. I will relate that story later.

I only pray and hope that the author’s prediction of a marriage of convenience between the kallathoni war criminal and Sajith’s SJB will be a non-event.
If it ever takes place the already beleaguered beggar’s colony will have to have the support of the murdering of the innocent civilian’s army to control and overcome the dissent of many a turmoil that will take place.
Sajith along with his rebelling from the UNP team desperately made applications to the courts to prevent their justified expulsion from the UNP which had been in the forefront to boost their popularity among the long-suffering common folks.
As for me, the arrival of the coronavirus-19 has been a blessing in disguise as the good folk have been sadly forced to drop into an abyss of NO.
We the lucky folk living in salubrious nations have no qualms about obtaining all our requisites.

Of all the clever election strategies ever this ” we will get 2/3rds” campaign slogan deserves the first prize. Everyone fell flat on their face forgetting that when you run to defeat 2/3 you have ALREADY ACKKNOWLEDGED you lost the 51% mark! And that the government is so popular. What a shame.

““The first priority for all who abhor dictatorship is to convince the people to not grant the government 2/3rds on 5 August.”
Then again this too is illogical. For what can a voter do if he/she has only one vote?
Forget this 2/3 talk. The proper statement is
“The first priority for all who abhor dictatorship is to defeat government on 5 August.”

        Thanks.
A genial fellow honest to his heart.
A small JVP will always be permitted to speak as they please as a demonstration that we are a functional democracy.
Few of them are useful in the Parliament
Big guys will carry on with their personal agendas anyway.
JVP helps to change hands between big guys.
The tag ‘Ratu Ali’ Anura Kumara earned for the party is truely damaging than the good Professor can realise and will last for another couple of parliamentary turns.
Believing in 51% while having less than 5% reflects TOTAL lack of understanding of the society they plan to reform and is enough reason to laugh them off as few crackpot nuts.
Hope the professor won’t earn the title ‘ nutty professor’
Again, few of them are useful in the Parliament.

People change, but usually only if they underwent an experience which made them change:
        .
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW7qZYb3HpE
        .
That is more than one hour of Sarath Fonseka in Sinhalese. During the war many Tamils got killed by him, I’m sure. But that was war.
        .
He may by now be a man who would again be useful to have in Parliament. This tells me that he’s now contesting from the SJB the District of Gampaha:
        .
        https://cmev.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/gampaha-district.pdf
        .
It may be worth the while of Sinhalese voters to send him into Parliament.
        .
It is up to ourselves to now educate ourselves. It may be that we could later pass tips on to other voters in Sri Lanka. It is up to you to understand my own limitations.
        .
I can tell you this much: I’m sad that there ever was a War. We can’t change the past, but we must do what we can to determine a better future.

I must make contact with my lawyer mates back home to ascertain as to why this blatant deliberate in connivance lapse was allowed to happen and is there any redress available to the other defeated candidates to correct this anomaly.?

The answer I can provide is that Mahinda Deshapriya is either a Rajapukshe sympathyzer who willingly turned a blind eye by merely accepting an affidavit claiming he was no longer a US citizen or he was threatened and forced into doing it. The other factor is that Ranil who should have moved heaven and earth to challenge this issue in court sat on his arse and did absolutely nothing until the last minute when Mangala suddenly realizing what was about to happen made some noise about this issue to no avail. I suspect that Mangy stepped down from politics out of disgust over this and other issues that remain hidden for now. RW is a slippery snake who never comes out with the truth.

What Prof. Kumar doing is using straight forward analysis to predict Lankawe political ends is. You know all politicians tell one thing and do another thing. Then they blame the opposition for their robberies, murders and misadventures. The Cultural Fund looting has suddenly become more important but Central Bank looting (Rs1000 Billion) is gone. That is because Ranil had done his deal already in Singapore Hospital. They used to do that on LTTE for earlier 30 years. They both parties paid for all Rebel groups. They set one against other to avoid a solution for Tamils. They paid money and gave arms to LTTE. They don’t have to blame anybody for Indian Pakistani Citizenship act or MMDA or Hartal 1953 or even after all those nasty deeds UNP’s loss in 1956 election or tearing of Banda-Chelva pact or Emergency 1958 or nothing or anything they did until now. They don’t even blame anything on Dom Juvan marring a Portuguese servant girl and giving the kingdom to her. They don’t feel ashamed of capturing two Tamil kings (Changiliyan and Vickramarajasingan) & handed over to Europeans. They don’t gratefulness for getting them out when they went into prison by conducting a destructive Muslim – Sinhala Riot. NOW Media is saying ACSA, MCC, FED agreement, RBI agreement et al has been signed, but they both won’t accept if it was any one of them.

No chance. Sajith’s team will not join Rajapaksas.

Sajith knows he is the president in exactly 4 years’ from now. 4 years is a short time in politics. He and his party men can wait 4 years for it. They are desperate to elect the first non-SLFP president in 35 years.

Besides all lucrative ministries will go to Rajapaksas and their close allies. Even SLPP bigwigs will not have lucrative ministries. SJB crossovers will be left to dry.

Other thing is the economic collapse. No one wants to be seen with the Rajapaksas when the economy tanks under their rule.

Then there is the Sirisena factor. Although they would number about 10, SLFP hardcore will not support removing or substantially changing 19A. That erodes Rajapaksa power and if SJB had joined Rajapaksas then, they lose both ways.

Ranil’s UNP will support revising 19A in return for state support to unite the UNP and save Sirikota.

The biggest risk is election fraud. Rajapaksas are ready for it with the help of the army. Looks like the army will stuff ballot boxes.

I share Kumar David’s concerns, but do not know whom to vote for in Jaffna, a problem shared by many in this country. I don’t know if Kumar David will have the opportunity to make a gainful change, but I respect him for what he is saying and doing and am glad that someone is doing it, at least to show us that sanity is not dead in this country.
The SLPP getting a two-thirds majority seems a dead end, but I doubt it is the worst outcome we shall have seen. When Jayewardene won the 1977 elections, there was hope. Instead the Tamils were bashed. After the 1982 Referendum on the promise of a stable government, we saw worse Tamil bashing. The Tamils were repeatedly asked to forget and carry on, but there is until this day no heart-searching; and here we are. With SLPP spokesmen and their supporters among Buddhist monks screeching more of the same medicine for the Tamils (faithfully reproduced in the Tamil press), things indeed look alarming. But the world has changed and is changing, and I doubt if this kind of raw hate would lead the SLPP anywhere. They likely might end up as cardboard Tarzans.

You can always vote for SLPP with preferential vote for anyone or no one.
It will give strength to our democratically elected president.
      .
And your family vote will help him to get 2/3 majority which will help us to get rid of crooked 19th amendment and increase presidential power.

The poor Prof a one time Marxist theologian, has now become an astrologer engaging in predicting the future! He should keep a list of his predictions and see the actuality in time -that might bring him some badly needed sense of reality. He predicted a wonderful Yahapalana regime free of corruption only to scramble to explain the Bond scam just months after formation, he predicted a happy marriage between Ranil (a comprador bourgeoise) and Maithripala (a national bourgeoise, by his old Marxist theory), he predicted that the masses are with Sajith and do not want a return to the Rajapaksha rule, he predicted a Gota – MR conflict for superiority, he predicted mass unrest and food riots with the Covid lockdown … and so he continues in his own dream world!

      Rationalist
The Professor has described the thought process of Sajith P’s brain in fine detail and how exactly he will behave after the elections. How he knows all this he wouldn’t reveal.
There is a large number of writers and commenters inhabiting Colombo Telegraph with this extraordinary talent. This is acquired or born with I always wonder. They know how their political opponents were involved in killing their enemies with exact details of the murder and who stole how much to the last rupee. Many occasions I have begged of them to assist the law enforcement authorities by revealing their source.
I can’t understand why they always avoid doing that.

Kumar, I disagree not totally but partially on this matter. In Lanka every politician carries a price and Rajapaksas know that well. If you say Sajith and his people can be bought out then RW too. The difference is Ranil is a “political pimp”. His way of bargain is not direct but indirect. He will stay in party as leader and still work underneath in supporting Rajapaksas 2/3 agenda, for money./position/power /or even to keep away from legal headaches. I do get the feeling he is already in pact with Rajapaksas. Here are the reasons 1) RW is full of vengeance and will like to see Sajith downfall. 2) It is known fact RW and few of his people worked against Sajith in last election 3)Lately all the onslaught of Rajapaksas are against Sajith, I did not see a single salvo fired against RW 4)They called Sajith a racist, even degraded his wife and now have come up with made up charges of money missing from cultural fund. 4) There have been personal comments against Sajith and family. 5) If UNP is the main rival why not go after them or Ranil, instead of a breakaway group. 5) also see today,s Amrit article where UNP biased media is after Sajith and not Rajapaksas.

The SLPP will fall short of 2/3 by about 10 to 20 seats. This number will surely be bougth using the typical tactics used by the Rajapukshes. Threaten to investigate arrest and punish on the one hand while offering heaven where all sins are forgiven and here take this santhosam for crossing over on the other hand. SJB is ripe for the picking. A band of misfits who are neither here nor there. Shame for the country. On another note I hear that while the Airport is shut down and no repatriations flights are taking place 50 odd pohottu supporters were flown in from Sydney on a returning cargo fligth where the waiting list was 300 to 400 registered with the consulate. This is sad Sri Lanka where the Sihalese are no more than punak eating cattle eager to usher in a fashcist dictatorship. The SJB will go down in history for making this happen out of pure stupidity.

Agree with much of the comment, but what did the Tamil leadership do?
Its affinity for UNP has held fast even after the experiences of 1977, 1981, 1983 and much of the war period.
It supported Chandrika K in 1994. But since the UNP bounced back, it is the same sorry old story.
      *
There are two options before he Tamil voter:

So is Karuna There are few Sinhala MP’s and Muslims. Repealing 19A or to enact an altogether new constitution – is only focused on empowering currently US Citzen, Basil the 10% aka architect of SLPP so that he can enter into the PARLIAMENT and ruin this nation to the core.

Any country where majority of peoples and their thoughts and minds are twisted and misled for political survivals of the vicious politicians, things would not work properly for the benefit of the masses in each country.

    Prof. Kumar David

The all important question is, how serious is MR about a 2/3rd majority to facilitate the amendment of the Constitution or to frame a New Constitution.

The answer to that question depends on the answer to another question, viz. is MR ready to give up his powers, thanks to 19A, to his younger brother GR and just wait and watch him do whatever he wants, however repugnant it may be to him?

MR has been in Politics for half a century and it is he who created the Rajapakse Name and Fame when his brothers were No where. So, it is very hard to imagine the Constitution being tampered with except with MR’s assent which means the 19A will stand as it is except for some changes that MR agrees to which means MR will Have ALL the Powers he has and GR has to play second fiddle. So, Sajith and others who are counting on GR will have little attraction to join GR when MR will call the shots.

“Is a Prime Minister corporating with the President for the upliftment of the country a crime?”

No it’s not crime if PM is cooperating with the president if the aim is to alleviate people from their current miserable state. However it is a crime (sin) for them to cooperate/collude with each other and their clan to cover up their past, present and future crimes.

If you are part of the clan that’s alright.

“I must stop, I am an NPP National List candidate so I must keep my column augmentatively political and analytically nonpartisan. “
We wish Prof. Kumar get a chance to go to Parliament. We, Eelam Tamils, are not in the Sinhala Buddhists conducting election. Further we don’t buy Prof. Kumar’s Marxism. But there are some other good reasons to bless him. Lankawe is about to become a military country. Like Tamils fighting for their land, Sinhalese have to forget about biriyani and rice, but have to give priority to ward off dictatorship. We CT group believe in secular democracy and free media. Whether one is right or wrong, human being has to practice honesty and compassion. Prof. Kumar can set example for other 8th graders what it means by a MP. From CBK time, Lankawe parliament didn’t have opposition. Sampanthan Aiya was the worst opposition party leader. Last 4 years he voted for ever proposal of government. When Karu Jayasuriya replaced him, he placed a government candidate as opposition. Theoretically that candidate was not even an MP as he had resigned from his party officially. As long past of British rulers, the two weeks memory race have forgotten how an opposition MP looks like. By being a worthy opposition MP let Prof. Kumar make them hang his portrait in parliament.

    Hi Sence,
What is your problem? Don’t think a weak Govt will take power? Kumar David certainly thinks so and here wonderfully explains your only hope is Uncle Trump!!!. Hallelujah USA to become liberators , at least some of you liers have realised the outcome. Yet forecasting doom and gloom for the country is the only sole you have now. What minorities want is a separate country. Nothing less and that will not happen during our life time. Thank god we have a leader and a nation that would stand together to defeat outside interference that the TNA, the Muslims achieved during the Yahapalana regime. One by one these pillars of destruction are coming down.

Why are those intelligent lawyers like Sumanthiran so quiet now. Why isn’t he saying any=thing about his 19 th amendment? People like will lose but majority Tamils and honest muslims will be relieved to see the demise of these parasitic, unprincipled Pol;iticians who enjoyed all comforts at the expense of the poor. This is a revolution. Not only to Majority sinhalese but to Tamils and Muslims too.

Wonder how many realize that three founder leaders of the Nava Samasamaja Party are seeking to be MPs by association with alliances led by the UNP, SLPP and JVP.
This is pretty impressive, since the father of Trotskyism did the double by serving first with the SLFP and then the UNP government.
I wish Prof. Nalin de Silva contributed his bit by contesting on a SB chauvinist ticket outside the SLPP.

Who has been asinine enough to contest from the U.N.P.?
      .
The SLPP guy is the turncoat, Vasudeva.
      .
I’m resisting the persuasion to vote for the Clock. Still intend voting for the “Telephone”.

All communists confuse between their bosses and gods, though accepts both. That is why, the only useful job a communist does is cursing his boss and the god, for everything, thinking he/she out smarting god and boss. .
