Sajith’s SJB Of Clowns

By Kumar David

Prof. Kumar David

Do you want to cry for Sajith or curse his Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB); don’t cry for Sajith, he chose his allies and bears much responsibility for their treachery. Even worse, a month ago he appointed as National List MP an illiterate who attempted to teach Parliament Roman history declaring: “Antony said that he loved Caesar but his love for Rome was much more” and she alleged that “bloodstained” Anthony was involved in the assassination. Ignoramus! It was Marcus Junius Brutus in whose mouth the Bard put the words “Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more” – Act III, Scene 2.

Be that as it may, the point is that without the eight SJB traitors who backed 20A it would have fallen short of two-thirds (156 polled minus 8 SJB traitors would have been 148; two-thirds is 150). Gota-Mahinda did not secure the requisite two-thirds, rather they stole it by bribery and deception. In addition to the clown from Rome the seven others belonged to the Mano Ganesan, Bathiudeen and Rauff Hakeem outfits. I don’t know whether seven of the eight being Muslims (6) and Tamils (1) will have political consequences but the pay-outs must have been handsome. Their villainy, vapidity and venality reflect the poor judgement of Sajith, Mano, Badurdeen and Hakeem. Had the anti-SLPP voter swung 10 or 15 parliamentary seats from the SJB to the NPP-JVP, they, the masses, would have been better protected from repression and strife now unavoidable. Mobilisation would have been on a surer footing organisationally and in parliament.

Notwithstanding the setback and despite the Sajith-Mano-Rauff-Bathiudeen zoo, it is important to retain an alliance of the left, civil society and soft liberals; an “everybody is welcome” mobilisation. I know there are and always were “we alone can build the revolutionary party” sectarians in our midst; subduing them is another headache – cannon to left of us, cannon to right of us! This raises a point about leaderships and alliances. A global lesson of late 20-th and 21-st Century politics is that commitment to leaders and parties must be elastic, not set in stone. The LSSP, to which yours faithfully made a long-term commitment, had a useful shelf-life of 30 years from 1935 till 1965-66 when it succumbed to Sinhala racism. It needs good judgement to discern when to adjust alignment. While it is fickle to jump here and there like a jack-in-the-box, it is brain dead not to see when leaders are past their use-by date and to postpone fashioning new weapons fit for the day.

Regarding alliances, again judgement matters. To take an example I cannot emphasise too much that the “Single-Issue, Common-Candidate”(SI-CC) motif that unified the alliance to win the 2015 presidency was dead right. It was imperative to defeat Mahinda Rajapaksa’s attempt at a third-term; that is focus on SI was strategically perfect. The tactic to unify large sections required CC. SI-CC was a success but history never stops. [The Great War to end all wars did not stall history nor freeze out a Second World War]. As the story went our CC was a crack-pot, but had we suspected it there was no way to reverse the Ranil-Chandrika surprise and change candidate. The yahapalana government elected in 2015 has been judged a failure though not as abysmal as made out – 19A was a step forward despite its jinxes; that’s why 20A is deemed essential by aficionados of dictatorship. SI-CC served its purpose, but alliances are tactical and it is time to move on.

And where have we arrived? Sadly, the skies over the land of my birth are overcast; prognosis is unhappy. The people themselves handed a near two-thirds majority to those now marinating dictatorship. But even in bad times life goes on. Lanka must fight on with the wisdom of Sun Tze (The Art of War): “If you know yourself and you know your enemy, you can win”. To know ourselves is to understand a perilous future. To make amends for the transgression that oafish woman has done the Bard let me end with a few lines (not in sequence) from Mark Anthony’s soliloquy over Caesar’s body just before that greatest ever sales-pitch he imposed on his friends, Romans and countrymen.

A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;

Domestic fury and fierce civil strife

Blood and destruction shall be so in use

That mothers shall but smile when they behold

Their infants quarter’d with the hands of war.

(Caesar’s ghost) will cry ‘Havoc,’ and let slip the dogs of war

That this foul deed shall smell above the earth

With carrion men groaning for burial.

(Act III, Scene 1)

Poetic exuberance? Perhaps, but the treachery of those elected in August to oppose dictatorship, but bowed down before it in October is so foul a deed that it “smells above the earth”.

I am looking for a number of patriots, Vasu, Udhay, Wimal, Dayan, saffron brigades and rest of the Sinhala/Buddhist defenders of Sovereignty. I love to join their protest against American Imperialism represented by Pompeo & co.

Why the media is silent on their patriotic activities?
Has Gota banned media reporting their patriotic activities or banned all protests except protests organised by JVP?
Are these patriots hiding behind Mahinda’s bump?

Native Vedda: You missed one “Stalwart Patriot” and the name is: Now “HON” Govindu Kumaratunga – the “Back-Door” entrant to Parliament from Yuthukama. His companion, another stalwart in the campaign of “Sinhala Buddhist Brigade” Prof. Nalinda Sila has been sent as an “Ambassador”. That was a well planned “Stunt” by GR to get rid of a huge “Headache”.

“Prof. Nalinda Sila has been sent as an “Ambassador”.

You mean the one who rejoiced when he heard Hindia exploded nuclear bomb at Pokhran in 1998? He was contented with the idea that Hindia had brought Sri Lanka under its nuclear umbrella. He was fighting a war against not the neo imperialism but the old one.

It is not Milinda Moragoda is he?
I believe like his boss Gota Milinda is America’s Man in Sri Lanka.

Everything is confusing, let me go to my favourite boulder and count the stars in the sky.

Native Vedda: Prof. Nalinda Silva is the present Ambassador to Myanmar. I gave the reason for his appointment in my comment. Milinda Moragoda (Founder of Pathfinder and representative of MCC based in S/L) is the Ambassador to India from S/L sent with the “accreditation” of GR to “coordinate” the implementation of “MCC & SOFA”. Hope I have straitened the records.

Native Vedda: You are a little late in getting the news. Perhaps you may be on the other side of the world with a big-time difference. The “20A” is now “LAW” with the Speaker signing it. Our “KING” can now do “As HE Pleases”. So with Milinda Moragoda in the Ambassador position in the “Shoes of a Cabinet Minister”. Got it. Cheers!.

Why is there concern about American imperialism only ? Are you not concerned about Chinese colonization of Sri Lanka through debt trap diplomacy ?Are Sri Lankans not scared of Chinese imperialism ? If not watch don’t forget what happened in Hong Kong. Taiwan is next. High cost debt, for many a dud project from Mattala, Hambantota Port, Nelum Kuluna and the power plant that was to be disposed by China installed in Norachcholai ? What economic value add has there been other than drowning us in more high cost debt for overpriced projects ? Do we have oversight into what goes on at the Chinese port in Hambantota ? Why do we continue to accept a raw deal from the Chinese and jump in protest because Pompeo visited us ? Have the so called patriots said a word against silent Chinese colonization that will over time get elevated to domination of gullible leadership in countries seeking their high priced debt bonanza ?

“If you know yourself and your enemy, you can win”. Do you expect Sajith to “KNOW” that? What is most lacking in Sajith is “He doesn’t know himself”. How can such a man “LEAD”? Now it has been reported that the “Woman who loves her country most” is a “Dual Citizen”. This “Sajith & Co.” composed of some “Intellectuals” did not have the presence of mind and exercise care to check the credentials of the political party they were “Hanging on” to contest as “SJB”. Can this set of “CLOWNS” congregated into a “Coalition” named “SJB” carry on with the huge task of “Governing” a country engulfed in serious economic, social and political problems? In any case, this “Leader” Sajith is not a man to “TRUST” as he has amassed quite a lot of “Obligations” to the “Rajapakse & Co. Inc”. He together with many of his “Colleagues” is the “Other side” of the same coin of “Corruption” and “Dishonesty”. So DO NOT TRUST this “SJB” lead by an incompetent man who “Doesn’t Know Himself”.

S.C.Pasqual: Thanks. “Best choice …..is GR/SLPP” could be your “BEST”. No problem. You are free to live with that choice until perhaps some other ray of hope dawns on you. I know that is the “Law of Nature. I never said or question Gevindu K’s honesty. In fact, he is honest to the very core of his “Extremism”. What I don’t agree with is with his “Intorrence”, “Non-compromising” attitudes. In that endeavors, he will join even the devil to achieve what he preaches, as demonstrated by his entry to Parliament through that “Back Door”. Cheers.

Is it true that Gevindu (his natural South Indian name GOVINDU) always carries a draft copy of constitution amended only the previous night in his bulging trouser pockets?

He keeps these latest amended draft copies in his both pockets so as to make the updated draft constitution available to Gota, Mahinda, Saffron Brigade, ….. Due to all these regular unnecessary activities GOVINDU finds it difficult to walk.

Simon, Diana is not a *Dual citizen*, she is a British Citizen ONLY. So based on the information received thanks to sajith’s stupidity she’s the 1st British Citizen to represent GB in a Sri Lankan parliament after 1948. 🤣😄😀

So this is the idea time for someone to challenge her selection to parliament, if we go by the verdict which madam Geetha received in the 2015 parliament then surely Diana stands to loose her seat in parliament. 🤔

      Dear Simon

I am not sure on the observation/allegations you made of Sajith without any basis??

However I do agree he has a roll to play that is to bring all the divisional politics together………and this should be done “not as a coalition” but all should shed their identity/ghetto politics to poole their Brin power together “not to undermine the current GOSL” but to offer something to the voters so they can vote them in the next election and to form a credible opposition takes the GOSL delivery even better??

The fact we are not a united people or for that matter non visionary politicians in the so called minority parties to pull their weight behind a National party/identity comprehensively & decisively is where all the problems lies and is not the fault of Hon GR-MR? we keep compounding this scenario ever since Independence??? and in the process we have eliminated all those who would have done the opposite to deliver social justice a long time ago??

Thiagarajah Venugopal: Thanks. I still maintain that Sajith is no “LEADER” of the “Matured” type. Just look at one of the things he offered during the election: ” Rs. 20,000.00 monthly to each household”. Would any sensible, mature man make statements of that type? You may say “It is an election promise as done by all others”. No. I don’t agree with those types of Leaders. I am also aware of what he was doing as a Minister in the “Yahapalanaya” period based in Hambantota. The present “Rajapakse” regime has a “weapon” in hand to put Sajith in silent chambers, and that is the “Misuse” and “Mismanagement” of funds running to millions that belonged to the “Cultural Fund”. Also, he has a “Historical” obligation to “Rajapakse” for “overlooking” that huge amount of “Counterfeit” money brought to a bank by his sister for deposit. There are so many “Skeletons” of that type in his “Wardrobe”. How can he” play a role to bring divisional politic together” when he doesn’t have the basic knowledge of “Leadership” qualities, well demonstrated during the voting on “20A”? I agree with the rest of the views you expressed.

Sure. So how can we bring about a leadership in the opposition for a healthy democracy so diversity is maintained with the passion for Nation Building so people have choices and all can subscribe to etc over and beyond our historical divisions?

JVP is far left for such compromises with the UNP on a policy basis? who else?? Can Hon Sumathiran leave the TNA and play some pivotal roles? any Muslim party leaders can do the same to get the ball rolling??

          • 0
            0

Hon Ministers like Badi-ud-din Mahmud characters who can fly the National flag in the opposition and speak for the UNP right wing/populist politics a leader from the Minority parties……this is a great opportunity granted by the SLPP for such thoughts of unitedness and am sure Hon Sajith will approve?? Would UNP as a party accommodate such minority leadership?? Can JVP help?

          • 1
            0

Thiagaraja Venugopal: In my opinion, it is no use to attempt any sort of “Nation Building” with any sort of unity with the “Bigger Players” such as UNP, SLPP, SJB, and SLFP in the politics of the country. All are “CORRUPT” to the core and they have spread that “CANCER” right across all veins of the society. What is needed is all “Intellectuals” (mind you, not the PSEUDO) who can and willing to “SACRIFICE” and “DEDICATE” their services to “SHED” all types of “DIFFERENCES” (ethnicity, religion, caste, creed, etc.) and form ONE COMMON FRONT to implement a very short agenda to “Re-Build” the country and resurrect it from the hell hole that it has already fallen. Now, who can take the “LEAD”? Again in my opinion it is NOT- JVP, but “NPP” (National Peoples Power) of which JVP is only a “Partner”. So you see JVP has “Sacrificed”. I don’t see any difficulty for those I mentioned in the category of “Intellectuals” to join the NPP and stage the “COME BACK” for a COMPLETE CHANGE. This comment is only a “DROP” in the ocean of that “RECOVERY”.

              Respect that feedback. Interesting indeed.

I am trying to see how we can entertain the rightwing politics our Nation if people used it too?? would not that be disgruntled and create more trouble?? or even to say they be used by foreign powers to create problems too as it has happened in several South American Countries?

When I think about all that then I am thinking a “critical path” to a statehood where we can see some tangible change in development work of some basic services/debt repayments etc?

Should we not at-least support the Hon GR-MR set up and see how that goes?? if we do not like it then we can always vote them out??

The current scenario infact doing a fantastic job of forcing all the ghetto makers to think and act as one for a brighter future??? one and only way out is good…..specially when you give so many choices to our folks they go all over the place…a very uniq SL character/Indian continent gene I suppose?

We need some discipline first before policies as this notion of I can kill my way to make a point was never required in our Nation in the first place by no one…..yes changes needed but not what we did etc not justifiable at all?

                Dear Simon

Apologies for the English grammar mistakes above —-

I am a very pro GOSL person all along. For me working with elected governments solve problems is what democracy was all about.

World over in developing countries (including developed Nations too) have millions of problems that we solve through conflict management/resolution and planning etc. We were managing several regional and global issues then at the same time literally leaning to run our own show.

Without downplaying the intellectual capacity of the current JVP/qualification I do not doubt one has to objectively look at what GOSL have done and had to do to keep the Nation together…that is a critical responsibility of the elected too…otherwise the joinery means nothing and law of the jungle will prevail?? certainly has happened in or Nation due to (from my prospective) up North instigated/guided by our so called politicians in effect (opposed to whatever JVP stood for mostly) and brought the upcountry problems to Jaffna without any justification whatsoever.

                • 0
                  0

Except for the unfortunate violent response to put down the JVP then (Hon Mrs SWRD did release RW from the jail following the victory earlier/had all the leftest parties incorporated in GOSL/eventually brought about stndardisation to appease/address the JVP needs and the Rural needs too who are the voter base for SLFP then?GOSL then also appeased the Sanga on the religious fronts by making Buddisham state religion etc. She also had enrolled very many Tamil and Muslim MP’s (including my Father along with several others who were disgruntled with their party and their actions in Jaffna).

We had several shortages/grievances in life in Jaffna just as all others in our Nation and we were thinking of better days and laying foundation and at the same time navigating our children to stay on cause for this future too. We also had to live by the bullets/thuggery of the FP too which started the same journey up North (with the help of the Indians) just as JVP did down south (leaving the leftest democratic parties in a limbo).

                  • 0
                    0

When we move away from our objectives and different political parties start different causes is hard to stay on this set path for better days….just about all others around the region has done something we Sri Lankans did not do that is to have GOSL toppling revolutions further undermining our journey/leaving a bad history behind that will come back and bite us time and time again.

Therefore my gut feeling is we should cherish what we have now and contribute all our intellectual property to empower the status quo so social justice is delivered…be it not perfect to each and everyones taste. That was the whole point of electing someone is to support the majority votes/compromise differences and help the GOSL to deliver??

It is no right to attack SP right at this moment. Not only SJB but also, everyone is ignored by brother duo and their politics being governed today.

Media mafia would not take the side of the general public. They have all along being part of the govt. Pompeo or anyone would and could enter the country, so long mlechcha Rajapakshe politics would be there.

Let s hope that SRILANKA would not slip from frying pan to the fire, by the end of mlechcha politics. I have read somewhere not only to Srilanka, Pompeo had paid a visit to SUDAN two months ago. Anyways, being sandwitched to two power giants, if situation would worsen, people should have to rally round to take the law to hand and destroy Rajaakshes from our sight because if Rajapakshe were not that stupid, things would no thave ended up the way we experience them today. Those who attack GG yet today should look back and grasp it let alone today. Unlike today s opposition, former JOINT opposition went amok GG period, not allowing them to do the job. Today, almost every journalist is scared to express their thoughts against Rajapakshes. Bheeshanaya has been back, … come ahead would make it clear to the people how Dangerous Rajajapkashe criminals are.

leelagemalli: “….people should have to rally round to take the law to hand and destroy Rajapakse…….” My friend, are you having a “Dream” in your deep sleep? Talk to (never mind in your dreams) Jamis Banda, Kusumlatha, Ran Banda, Mustafaa, Arumugam, Appuhamy, Jinadasa, Alwis, Rodrigo.and so many “Reverances”…..you are sure to jump off the bed and break your leg. Those “SLAVES” are still ready to collect the “Night Soil” of Rakapakses” into their cupped hands. The irony is these “Slaves” don’t know they are slaves. Unfortunately, we don’t have “Spartacus” of good old historic days and Nelson Mandalas of recent history, to tell them they are “Slaves” and have to brack the shackles to gain “Freedom”. So resolve to suffer the years ahead.

SJB’s Mangala asked why didn’t JVP oppose Chinese visit but opposing State Secretary Mike Pompeo.

SJB’s Nalin asking why the Slap Party did not oppose Secretary Pompeo visit now but they opposed in their time.

SJB’s Marikar is saying Secretary Pompeo is coming Lankawe only to rob Lankawe’s resources.

SJB’s six MPs voted to 20A, but the leaders of those partied voted against.

Mano Ganesan signed to release Duminda. But he says he is asking to release Tamil political prisoners too. Will they release Tamil prisoners with Duminda?

Any one of them may right or wrong, But isn’t this tells that headless SJB, put together with bunch of invalids to defeat Ranil, has lot of reasons to be defeated in national level.
    (Post somewhere else too)

Mallaiyuran “But he says he is asking to release Tamil political prisoners too”

I beg to disagree. He did not sign the letter to release Duminda and Tamil Prisoners too. There is no mention of Tamil Prisoners in the letter, , nor did he sign to release Duminda on the condition that Tamil prisoners should be released subsequently.

what he says and its in the press release below in my posting, ” it will be an opportunity to seek,,,,”

so all these years he was waiting for an opportunity like this to seek the release of Tami Prisoners.

He is a very clever man, he had his trump card , Duminda!

Tamil Prisoners do not merit release on their own

There are clowns every where .
How about this statement of comedy from Mano Ganesan

    http://www.dailymirror.lk/breaking_news/Free-Duminda-Mano-defends-decision-to-sign-petition/108-198834

“He (Mano Ganesan) asserted that the only reason he signed the document was to use it as an opportunity to seek the release of Tamil political prisoners. Ganesan said that if Silva is pardoned then there can be a stronger push to secure the release of Tamil political prisoners.”

It does not need even a two-digit IQ to realize what Mano Ganesan is up to.

He was a conman all along, and the TNA helped him by not contesting Colombo.

My focus was not on the charter of Hon MG rather any release/excuse for the innocent/unfortunate behind the bar to be released is humanitarian.

Anyone who can deliver that (just as was done with many JVP too) at least help the GOSL to clear up this area of “people loitering in jails without any due process of law” under whatever could be released.rehabilitated all the more better.

I do not know MG as I have not studied him ever even to make a comment on him. You can help me learn by sharing some knowledge would be appreciated pls.

    “Regarding alliances, again judgement matters.”
Everybody did know in Jan, 2015 that New King’s name was in forgone war criminal list of OISL report. He claimed, in South, he finished the war blocking American ship attempted to rescue Tamil Rebels. He said Old King and Ponny had left the country while he was fighting alone and the War Without Witness genocide war. He claimed he was wholly responsible the criminal war He claimed he was not a common candidate for Tamils and he had nothing to do with TNA in that election, though TNA rejected Ranil and worked with CBK & Sobitha Madulawe Thero in selecting New King. Our request to TNA to stay out of supporting a dangerous candidate is still in CT archives.
SI-CC served its purpose, ”Not any horse of five pence ever crossed the river “
18A is not removed. Old Royals back on their third term, though delayed by one election. When rabbit woke up, it is so virulent this time hoping to cover the lost distance.

” the treachery of those elected in August to oppose dictatorship, but bowed down before it in October is so foul a deed that it “smells above the earth”. The f*rt Don Stephen made with citizenship act is smelling from February 1948, not from October 2020.

That means the only single political party in Sri Lanka.

He is doing a great job dismantling UNP and its SJB rump

The Tamil political parties in the NE and Hill Country are all dismembered

Younger Brother Prince Modaya is beggar conducts road shows with a bunch of monkeys for his daily pennies, but has no back bone. If he fall from Papaya no harm, nothing important piece would break. Remember this is the accused by Old King, while running out of Temple Tree House, made him to loose election in 2015 and, in turn, he ran to USA to hide. It is only a Real Fox’s magic made all them to regroup and stand for election in 2019. Thanks for Ranil’s liberal democratic service to Lankawe!

The opportunistic Muslim Politicians sided with Sinhalese and was able to defeat their own Tamil Speaking citizens of SL in the past.

Why are you blaming a mere six Muslim MPs (leaving out more than that many Tamils) when there were around 140 Sinhalese MPs betraying their country?

  • 5

“Had the anti-SLPP voter swung 10 or 15 parliamentary seats from the SJB to the NPP-JVP, they, the masses, would have been better protected from repression and strife now unavoidable.”
I think that the author’s voting arithmetic has gone astray somewhere.
I said elsewhere on CT pages:
    Add to the SLPP’s 146, SLFP’s 1, EPDP’s 2, TMVP’s 1, OPP’s (Bodu Bala Sena) 1, and that is 151.
Also, strictly, with 2 seats unfilled the 2/3 will be for 223 seats, making it 149.
GR had his 2/3 even counting the two unfilled seats as not his.
Also, note that there were 12 absentees which in all probability was by design.
What GR needed, was credibility more than the 2/3rsin hand. If it was only the 2/3 and even if the need arose owing to the highly unlikely rebel or two, the shortfall is easily purchasable from non-Muslim ranks of the Opposition. (We know the calibre of our MPs.)
His manipulations were designed to demonstrate support from an intimidated community.
    *
How was it that the Muslim MPs were persuaded?
Unlike Tamils and Hill Country Tamils, the Muslims have since 2005 voted consistently (and overwhelmingly since 2015) against MR and GR.

    • 1
      0

Something seems missing. I should add:
The Muslims have thus more to fear from the GR-MR regime.
When they were under attack under two different governments, very little was forthcoming from their so-called allies and some Tamils openly said that they deserved what they got.
The Muslims feel terribly isolated in a context where there is none that they can count on even among political allies.
The act to support 20A was thus a desperate move to “buy protection”. What it will achieve is quite another matter.

There are two serious errors SLPP MPs number 145 (one less).
        Absentees number 3 not 12.
But the thrust of my argument remains.

        Dear SJ

        In addition

        (1) Muslims just like Tamils (SL origins) have voted for UNP because of their business heritage…as they see UNP has something to offer to their business plans?

        (2) Muslims do not need to buy protection but integrate with all others just as all others need to do the same…..Indian Tamils/SL Tamils and all others too? What has happened in a Majority Buddhist country is the minorities have done well under colonial times and wanted to continue the same post colonial period is how the so called leaders driven the minority politics? They have been very smart in accusing the GOSL for all the policies that was created to address this discrepancy that not only benefitted the majority folks but also the minority underprivileged too?? very thoughtful and mindful acts made to look ugly as possible by the minority politicians??

        (3) Take the JVP politics itself “it wanted to drive the same politics (leftist/socialist/SLFP) but wanted to fast track all” through armed means?? same up North?? the Nation building which is a case by case scenario per nation can not happen in this way????? results we can see …is why 20a and the upcoming constitution is critical so we can see to that permanent shift without hindrance??
(they say harvest by children can not reach home means youth are immature to deliver such events)

    Dear LM,
    .
    PART ONE
    .
I can’t help feeling that we must write less, but make up our minds, and then stick to what we have clearly understood. How to cast a vote at a General Election is always a problem for us. It is impossible for us to exactly how a guy we vote in will behave. The night before voting I had almost made up my mind to cast a vote for Aravind Kumar (one of my three preferences for a Tamil to expiate the guilt I feel about racism). Note here how I changed my mind:
    .
    https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/female-representation-in-parliament-the-wait-for-a-gender-balance/

    • 2
      1

      PART TWO

Do it, dear LM, foregoing ten impulsive comments:
      .
      https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/nawaz-to-succeed-livera-as-ag-will-jayawardena-replace-jayasuriya-as-cj/
      .
Umberto then echoed the word crook that HP first used; my comment appeared immediately after, although other comments now intervene. Why is that? My eccentricity! I’ve been trying not to reduce comment indentation – if viewed on my Android phone they get to be one word or less line sometimes
      .

    • 3
      1

      PART THREE
      .

That’s how the word “crook” got used by me. I don’t mean to say that hanchopancho is a crook of the sort that Makandure Madush (drug-dealing thug) or Arjun Aloysius (white collar manipulator) are. No, this fellow has a land problem where he seeks a short cut through politicians.
      .
Once that is discovered, I think that we must cut the guys dead. I try to be fair: the guy has an excellent command of English, but his motives are questionable.
      .
Contrast with Professor Kumar David. He had left Peradeniya by the time I got there, but I obtained his contact details and actually visited him by appointment (I tried to get one from Sepal, by the way) at his house in Lotus Grove, Dehiwela in June. This is a man whom you can trust always. However, what he told me is that articles like this about Diana Gamage are easy to write, but nobody reads the Economics articles where he wrestles with the material:
      .
      https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/finance-capital-after-covid-19/
      .
Please look at that, to see for yourself. Then try to identify younger guides who can steer us reliably to better politics.

The Man does not know what he is talking about being blinded by his own gloated ego. The heinous crime was conducted by recruiting a notorious lethal criminal gang coalescing with the local police who refused to take criminal action. Invariably, it ended up as a civil case. Due to arms twisting by the top rungs of the judiciary, the presiding judges were forced to write Court Orders contrary to and contradicting the cogent and gospel truths recorded in the Case Brief per evidence placed during the trial. It was turning of justice upside down by reversing facts to fiction and fiction to facts according to the wishes of the Judicial Mafia who has the power to choke and cripple the entire justice system which is the mastermind responsible for the crime.

          hanchopancha,
          .
All that you say may be true, but how am I to know it to be true?
          .
It has to be duly proved in a Court of Law. I agree that if the Courts are not reliable, we are rendered close to helpless. I cannot act on the premiss that everything that you say is true. The previous sentence is not asserting that what you say is false. It is of “unknown truthfulness”.
          .
However, you have said, ““Get rid of the Parliament and the Judiciary and let HEP rule with the clear mandate handed down to him by the people.”
          .
          Unacceptable to me.
          .
and what you said of Nagananda’s “treatment” of me. I now have both his email and mobile phone number – but you have no use for that honest but over-impulsive guy, since he cannot “help” you.
          .
I’m not looking for personal assistance for myself.

The uniqueness and unique to this case is that the facts are clearly recorded by the Courts distinctly distinguished as day and night but nobody has the guts to say that the Emperor or the Emperors are stark naked.

mr.mano(madayan)ganesan thinks no end of himself.if what he says is correct in that letter he signed for requesting the release of DUMIMDA at least he should have mention saying that please look in to the possibility of the release of at least few guys HELD IN WELIKDE without trail over 10-15 years.real reason may be he and his esatate guys may have collected LOT OF SANTHOSAM MONEY FROM THE BROTHERS OF DUMINDA SILVA.MANO YOU CAN FOOL YOUR SELF BUT DO NOT TRY TO FOOL OTHERS IN THIS CONNECTION.

Several things are now coming to light. The JVPs AKD is among the wealthy list. Now one ownders where he got his wealth. When there was a push to unite all politicla partied behind a common candidate for the presidential election the JVP refused. When Chyna comes to check up on its vassal they remain silent. But what the US shows up they get into action. My Hypothesis is that the JVP are getting paid to act like they do to spoil the chances of the Sajith Candidacy and then to create a show on behalf of the current clowns both acts receive payments into AKD’s hora acounts.

      Pala,
You are absolutely right. JVP is a party of hitch-hikers and opportunists who have no where to go. They are there for sure to fill their fill. The electors roundly and truly rejected them. After all they are not that stupid. One of the names of the JVP list of NMPs, I personally came across is a cheat who cheated me.

Now on to Young Sajith putha. There once was a party named Our National Party in Sinhalese it was called Ape Jathika Pakshaya. It was registered to one Dayana Gamage and Senaka Silva. Sajith putha after spending years undermining the UNP was told he can have this party and its symbol the telephone. These two people had no reason to have a party registered to their name. This was another big game plan of the Rajapakshes to split the UNP. Sajith with the support of Ranjith Madumabandara another snake took the bait. After changing the name to Samagi Jana Balawegaya and appointing himself as its party leader and his co-conspirator as its secretary Sajith putha walked away from the UNP. The media had a field day deriding the UNP leader for refusing to let Sajith be the leader. But the real story is that Sajith putha never wanted to be UNP leader he wanted to destroy the UNP. When the time came Diana jumped ship as was always planned. So did all the other snakes planted in the SJB led alliance to mark time. Sajith putha now has nowhere to go. The SJB office bearers other than its leader and secretary are still Diana’s originally listed people.

KD, what ever said, Lankans are from the land like no other. It will be one of the first, where history will record “the minorities of Lanka who claim ethnic discrimination, voted in favor of a treacherous sell out of DEMOCRAZY”.

Diana said SJB is her husband’s party, so nobody can fire her from that party (Does she mean she appoint the party Members, Chair and Secretary?). But Party secretary Kiriella says he has fired all the 8 members voted for 20A. He issued an order to Speaker “Mr. Speaker, remove these filth out of my site please”. These members has not yet shown interest to be with government, though Hakeem said earlier he was talking his party dissidents to reattach them with SJB. I am not sure if Hakeem has been taking to Diana’s husband or Keirielle to take them back to SJB. Further I now not sure either if court may have to play any role here. Media says 20A has come into effect from today, so here after whatever King says is the constitution, criminal law, business law, budgetary procedures……

I wrote something wrong earlier in CT, few days ago, so please let me correct it now. ” Sampanthan Ayya was best the Opposition Leader Lankawe Parliament ever had. But that time I thought Sampanthan Ayya not opposing anything in parliament so he was not Opposition Leader at all. Now I have corrected it”

    Dear Mark Wijesinghe,
    .
    PART I

    .
I’m making yet another comment because another that I made yesterday cannot yet be seen by you. I can see it, with neither a “Like” nor a “Dislike”. But I cannot see a response to it. After posting I checked its length – 221 words, but then I have seen much longer comments that have got past the moderators. On the other hand, sometimes my comments “get disappeared” with no visible proof that they were ever submitted.
    .
How do I know that you cannot see my earlier comment? By logging out of CT. Then it wasn’t visible on my computer. Now that I have logged in again I can see what I have posted; obviously I don’t try to say I have liked my own comment! What will happen if I do? I don’t know. If I put in even a “Dislike”, CT will know that I put it in, since it can be seen only on the computers that I’m logged in to. You can’t check because you don’t know my password.
    .
This comment I’ve edited on my HDD using “Word” – it is less than 200 words.

      PART II
      .
      Now look at this, Mark
      .
      .
      https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/29/politics/trump-biden-misleading-video-george-fact-check/index.html
      .
Wait until it is clear that you can play the video that goes with the picture of two men looking at their smartphones – one is orange.
      .
Listen carefully to the 3 minutes 58 seconds, but before that, I had to allow my computer to silently play, for about half a minute, some silly video that may have been an advertisement. Listen very carefully to the less than 4 minutes video – and then THINK. People believe what they want to believe, irrespective of reasoning.
      .
I’m summarising the “evidence” here now: Yesterday we must have lost power about 10.00 am. I noticed and informed the Ceylon Electricity Board at 11.41, again 1.38 and 3.09. The last time I asked whether anybody else had called. No, they said. Restored 5.37 pm. In the night I asked four people whether they had reported, they said “no”. The breakdown had been only on our hill.

        Mark Wijesinghe calls himself “Pala”.
        .
I must get back to Dr Janapriya on the Coronovirus; you’ve commented on that article as well.
        .

        .
Dear LM, yours are some of the most looked-forward-to comments. You send me messages through these comments. In your case, I don’t even know your name. Please try to contact me via email.
        .
I am in touch with both Prof. Kumar David and Dr Muta Janapriya, who is about my age. However, as you know, I was a “late developer” and entered the University fifteen years before I should have.
        .
Never mind, let us always tell the truth, and be consistent – if only (sigh) hanchopancha, who has again commented above, would understand that. The details are not important. Sometimes you get outwitted; he must accept that, and not run after politicians, thereby ruining the entire society he belongs to.
        .
LM, I think that at this time we must understand just how terrible the prospects are for us. The Julius Caesar digressions by Kumar and by Muta Janapriya are fine; necessary even, but I think that we must work out our comments and keep them overall serious.

          Dear LM,
          .
It is self-evident, I hope, that in this sentence I should have used the word “after” instead of before.
          .
I was a “late developer” and entered the University fifteen years before I should have.
          .
I’m still rather backward – what to do?
          .
Well, we backward guys must still try to understand what is said here:
          .
          https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/lanka-will-subsist-on-a-diet-of-perpetual-debt-the-permeance-of-global-debt/
          .
Kumar bemoans what he sees as futile labour in his last paragraph:
          .
“I feel sorry for myself. No one pays attention to well researched stuff that is not simple to skim and digest. Anything on the Sinhala-Tamil brawl or derogatory of persons, regimes or regime-opponents draws stampeding crowds. Oh well, what to do!”
          .
I wonder what Champa will make of it. She once told me that despite all Dr W.A. Wijewardena’s efforts to simplify she doesn’t read any of his essays.
          .
But we have to be concerned with the Economy, stupid!

Quite a lot of words, difficult to identify the basic message the author wishes to convey and very uncharacteristic of an Engineering teacher. Focusing on the sentence “….. did not secure the requisite two-thirds, rather they stole it by bribery and deception”, I believe that the probability of a Sri Lankan politician prone to graft can be deceived is low. However, there web reports about a seasoned guy who opined against 20A but voted for, was waiting in the washroom for the promised gift but in vain. The sums of money involved is large and negotiators of votes would like to make the operation cost effective. The other factor is black mail, which is much cheaper than bribery. All these guys have skeletons in their cupboards and therefore cannot act straight. This problem is not limited to SRP but others as well and that is what is exploited by the powers whosoever it may be. The description that the member of the fair sex brought out “new roman history” as an Ignoramus is inappropriate. It turns out to be that she is British educated, and, in an interview, she claimed that due a language issue she got “confused”.
