Ranil faces some serious questions about the Bond Scandal, Batalanda and his deal politics with the Rajapaksa Mafia. His strategy has been to appear nonchalant by cracking his stupid jokes. Only his acolytes and the new Pohottuwa converts find them funny. He knows his flippancy and glibness will not stand a chance against Anura Kumara’s gravitas and razor-sharp wit. Ranil will never accept AKD’s challenge for a debate.

So, what more talks or arguments with such a person?
As in the Z-genzies who only say “Long live the compass”; AKD also does not seem to have any detailed information on how to bring the child across the river.
We keep questioning however, as PUTHANO (aka Premadasa Junior) says anything, AKD continues with his dream talks.

Shanika Somathilake is a brilliant young professional who has broken glass ceilings all the way. I think her cartoons are a mere hobby to stir up the emotions here. It is a foregone conclusion that there can be no honest debate between a career con-artist who has been fooling the hoi-polloi for half a century and a dedicated, honest and sincere man who genuinely seeks a reprieve for the beleaguered islanders in the sun.
