Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today instructed the latest issues of the Frontline magazine that were earlier blocked by the Customs Department due to a containing a reproduction of an interview with slain LTTE Leader Prabhakaran, to be released to the local markets.
The interview which was first published by the Magazine in 1987, has been reproduced in its latest issue.
Media Ministry Secretary Karunarathne Paranavithana had told local media earlier this week that the magazine has not been banned but that its release has been blocked as the content in the publication could be detrimental to national security.
The magazine had been sent to the Defense Ministry for clearance, which had then in turn directed the matter to the Media Ministry.
