The “documentary” was full of holes! This is looked at from the angle of those who want to see Sri Lanka face war crimes. Strange that the people who were fired on by the forces seek shelter with them. Why did they not stay with Prabakaran and his men who were supposed to fight to the death? The collage of Rupavahini’s film is used and that is very interesting, because if the UN’s Mc Kay said shelling was aimed at his camp then more people in his “area” would have died and he should have too. This is a neatly cooked up story of people paid by the LTTE to play “experts”. What that man knows about War Crimes is what everyone in Year 2 of Law College. If he can prove that the Sri Lankan army deliberately targetted the civilians then there is a war crime. Then he will have to explain why if there was “heavy bombing” targetting the small space of the safe zone how and why did anyone survive?
How did Milliband count 130,000 people? Did he have a census? Sir John Holmes speaks of the determination of the Sri Lankan Government to finish the LTTE at any cost even the lives of some civilians. Now it will be up to the UN to prove that all the civilians killed were so done by the Armed Forces and not by the LTTE. That will be harder to prove in a Court of Law unlike a load of LTTE propoganda on Television.

Well, Sri Lankan government kept saying there were less than 60K people, ignoring the reports by the Government Agents. Then, those people must have multiplied in a short time. With all those deaths, over 300,00 people showed up from nowhere. Chettiyar was flying a kite at that time, one guesses.

The Sri Lankan government set up “no fire zones” (NFZs) and then intentionally shelled them to make the civilians come to the government side faster. Quite a clever ruse by Gothabaya, except that satellite imagery (accessible to the UN, US, and others) easily confirms where those shells came from. Gothabaya also made the mistake of declaring on BBC that hospitals are fair targets, which pretty much gives his intentions away. So why did the government forces shell these NFZs? My guess is that SLA casualties were pretty high up to the end; Gothabaya in his latest interview with the “Island” says 6000 men were lost in the last three years. The correct figure is probably closer to 16000 (otherwise why the need for a news blackout?).
