VERY OLD NEWS.. But there won’t be much effect despite the fact all the 10 Tamil Sangams, TFO, TAG, PEARL, USTPAC, TAPI, GTF, CTC/NCCT/WTM from Canada and others bring supporters to NY. Some Tamils urge real legal action against US Citizens and residents where US courts have full jurisdiction. Unlike previous trips to the UN, President Rajapakse’s entourage is cut down in size, and will be very low profile. He is not scheduled to visit Houston for the medical check up like 2 years ago.. As President he will never be invited to the White house nor even the State Dept. or even a meeting with former President Clinton or any one of the Presidents-Bush. Like monkeys wanting to praise their own tails some Sinhalese Sri Lankans will be praising Mahinda Rajapakse and the family. The day of reckoning is around the corner, provided the Tamils in Cyber Space get their act together.

Donald’s day of reckoning is just around the corner. … There is no doubt about it, DJG … Provided it is all in Cyber Space … There is so much space in there, I mean trillions and trillions of trillion megabytes, you could do anything there which is unimaginable down on the earth…. You could act together by just using a one finger .. How marvelleos and exhilarating that act alone …. You could build humongous Tamil castles, Tamil heros, all Tamil foods and even enforce all inhibitants of huge Tamil kingdom should be named starting with ‘TAMIL ‘ like Tamilchelvam … Only thing you should remember is NOT to get down to earth … I mean physically … I know there are some of your friends who are craving to get down to earth … Surest way to convince them other wise is to remind Nanthikadal lagoon ….

Rajapaksha, as the president of Sri Lanka now, is laying the foundation for the university. What you need to understand is that, Rajapaksha the person and the Buddhist university are two different things. Dont get down to this level of low dirty comments.

Uaa, please can you identify your moral high ground? I believe you are unaware the damage caused to Buddhism by declaring Vidyodaya and Vidyalankara Pirivenas to University status, allowing the young Buddhist monks to mingle with females in the Univesities. Buddhist priests graduating from these two Universities are vying for jobs. If only Lord Buddha knows this, he would definitely repent for preaching the Dhamma, soon after enlightenment where he was pondering. Being a Buddhist Priest have they renounced all worldly desires? It is only such person I consider to be a real Buddhist Priest and not these Rogues in Yellow Robes.

Rama It is pity that CT has given space for your uncultured comments. Irrespective of persons involved , building an university is a praiseworthy exercise, and furthermore to teach a great philosophy like Buddhism must be commended. It appears that your interests are suboptimal, especially to make such artless expression.

Gunasiri, your Logic truly amazes me. You accuse CT for publishing Rama’s comments as an insult to MR laying a foundation stone for a Buddhist University. But you have no problem, MR prostituting Buddhism for his personal gain? What is the need for a University for Buddhism? Why the public is unaware of what Buddhism is? If Buddhism has survived for 2500 years without much blemish, without a University to back and has been only desecrated only during the last fifty years, thanks to your ilk, building Universities for Buddhism is not going to solve Buddhism. We already have two Buddhist Universities, Vidyodaya and Vidyalankara turned in to Universities and we know the damage it has caused to Buddhism? We have seen the bahaviour of the cultured Buddhists from the Chief Priest of the London Vihara downwards. Why not MR use that money to improve the Universities in the country, that are crying for funds, with FUTA on strike for the last three months?

man, there is no shortage of academic staff for the buddhist university. you can just walk into a sri lankan army camp and will be able to pick and choose the required number. there are child molesters, violent rapists, notorious killers and people who have first hand experience of having sex with corpses and those who have ogled at the private parts of dead girls. if that’s not enough you can approach ” sangha” who will be in a position to recommend a good number of sinhala buddhist monks who are equally good as the army soldiers if not better. sinhala buddhism is the worst form of buddhism that you will come across anywhere in the world. what’s surprising is that after killing humans in their thousands , they seem to be upset over the rituals at munneswaram.

Navin Weeraratne: ” Your hate of the Sinhalese people blinds you of your own flaws.” Probably I would have said what Rama has stated above, because there is large element of truth in it. However I do not hate any one, particularly the Sinhalese and Tamils. How can you hate stupid people? Both are in need of and crave for love. The so called Sinhala/Buddhism is narrow nationalism of worst kind, which cannot identify itself with Buddhism as Buddha taught. My second objective is to reclaim Buddhism from Sinhala/Buddhists while my first objective remains the same namely the repatriation of Tamils and Sinhalese back to their mother country India. Of course by peaceful means, if Don Stephen Senanayake and Sirimavo Bandaranaike could do it why not us? Your Tamil brothers are no better with their Tamil/Saivam. It too is narrow nationalism of worst kind, which cannot identify itself with humanism and jeevakarunya that were taught by many poets and saints. There is an urgent need to reclaim Saivam from Tamil/Saivaite. I would like your support. Rama also could help us.

Donald why does your side lose EVERY case you bring in US courts then? Head of state immunity is absolute, deal with it. As to the terror diaspora’s plan to march in the Big Apple, they have the right to do so under our First Amendment which guarantees freedom of speech. One would hope that the CIA will be filming the crowd for later use in counterterrorism operations.

Donald this bloody Ugly American is threatening to disrupt the demonstration, saying that the proceedings will be filmed for future use by the CIA for counter terrorism action. In other words individuals will be identified for elimination. Now this is the Mother F…..r who was offended when I suggested that if the society can not rid the corrupt from governance through the ballot, should not hesitate to remove them by the bullet. I believe the time is round the corner where every American will be at risk out side America and richly deserve so. For the demonstration to be a success, all should be masked, to prevent identification. Let us have the ‘show down’, which seems inevitable.

Romesh, violence begets violence. So if people have no recourse through peace and are subject to violence, what do you want the others to do, play according to Westminister Rules? Violence is a game that many can play not only the ones in power. When they get the taste of their own medicine only they will abide by Peace. If the ballot fails due to manipulation by the ones in power, to use the bullet is repugnant, I am sure you are still not sound in your mind Romesh.

Sorry Gamini, but you are using very weak and overused excuses to try and justifying what is obviously wrong. You may convince yourself, but you won’t convince many others, at least not those without a vested interest in violence and bloodshed. Blissful ignorance is indeed a strength of humanity, and as a result, the state of humanity today. To blame the ‘other side’ in justifying violence is lazy and irresponsible. Of course the other side does the same. Joy to the world, both sides can continue to kill, while blaming the other. Childish and pathetic, yet they are apparently adults… Sadly, for those of us who don’t really care for either side, and can see the stupidity on both sides, we have no choice but to spend our lives dodging the bullets the likes of you and your equally idiotic opponents fire at each other.

@Gamini.. Idiots like some lankan Lover is nothing but a freaking mushroom and coward bloomed for the last shower. May be fertilized by Rajapakse’s P….s and Sh………t. CIA does not get involved in domestic protest and demonstrations. FBI do if they so desire and they have done it from 1983, when we had demonstrations in NY and LA after the Sinhala Buddhist burnt, raped, killed and stole from hundreds of thousands of Tamils.. They killed more than during 9/11 …. Tamils have no problem with FBI or Rupavahini filming. Tamils are interested in the US citizens who are War Criminals in Sri Lanka. Shavendra de Silva and Mahinda Rajapakse are hiding under immunity so that they can avoid the courts… There will be justice to all the war criminals sooner or later… It is the Rajapakses and State Terrorist/War Criminals who are hiding from the FBI and the Tamils… We Tamils are not hiding from any body, and will be happy to bring to the attention of the FBI and CIA, about the US citizens who have committed war crimes that need to be investigated by the UN and US DOJ… @Romesh… Glad you are back and well. Gamini’s comment will not create any violence, and you have nothing to fear or be worried. I will advise Gamini, not to scare the shit out of the CT readers, who now are scared of some statements but did not say a word when over 100,000 Tamil civilians were raped, tortured and murdered so that the families could not even get their bones… They made use of chemical weapons, cluster and phosphorous bombs very liberally. But the Rajapakses say there was Zero casualties of Tamil civilians… Romesh, Congratulations to your father being appointed by Rudrakumar of TGTE as one of his Senators…. Take care of yourself…

Mike, There IS evidence and this will be brought to the Investigators of war crimes at the appropriate time. The war was conducted without witnesses, by evacuating NGO’s, UN officials, journalists and after the war no observers were allowed to visit specific areas in Vanni for a long time, while carrying out excercise to burn/disolve skeletons using special chemicals from a friendly country. Despite all these there is evidence sufficient to convict those responsible. Even at this time the resettled civilians have spotted some human remains.

Hi Donald, I am not in the least bit alarmed by Gamini’s foolish suggestions of bullets if ballots fail. No sensible person would, regardless of how provocative the old man tries to be. Neither am I concerned or worried about your own foolishness, insinuations or insults. As for protesting against the oppression and atrocities committed against people in the north and east of Sri Lanka (not that the “facts” and figures you keep repeating are credible) some of us objected and protested, privately and/or publicly, for many years, about the crimes committed against Tamils as well as Singhalese and Muslims by the LTTE (including in the north and east, but all over the island). I didn’t hear your own voice among them, and still don’t.

Dr Romesh Senewiratne is in denial. “not that the “facts” and figures you keep repeating are credible”. What do the facts and figures that you have in your possession say about war crimes and crime against humanity committed in the North East? Many right thinking people including Tamil and Sinhala speaking people not only knew but also protested against all atrocities committed by the LTTE. Some of them lost their lives. These atrocities have been well documented. It was a terror organisation which was led by a psychopath. The question remains as to why so many stupid people continue to deny the atrocities committed by the state and its paramilitaries all over Sri Lanka which amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity. Whether they live in Sri Lanka or abroad the Sinhalese and Tamils are determined to remain stupid. Is it to do with M20 marker which is common to both people? As you claimed to be a Dr you should know about genetic affinity of stupid people. Do you still think that there was a zero civilian causality in the North East over the past 30 years? Do you still think that Sri Lankan state’s security forces had not killed a single innocent Tamil in the North East? Dr Joseph Goebbels did not do a good job as a propagandist nor did Dr Josef Rudolf Mengele as an exterminator. However Germans did not deny their part in war crimes and crime against humanity.

“Native Vedda”, as you call yourself, I am curious about your knowledge of genetics and the pseudoscience of eugenics. You constantly refer to “stupid” Sinhalese and Tamils in your trollish comments, and admit frequently that you yourself are “thick”. Now you talk about some “genetic marker” you think is responsible for this “stupidity”. You also mention the Nazi propagandists who justified their atrocities in the name of the “science” of eugenics. As you should know, the Nazis shared this sort of “genetic” racist belief. If you read my work on the subject you will find that for the past 15 years I have been researching and writing on the genocide of indigenous people around the world by means of biological, chemical, psychological and other covert forms of warfare. This includes indigenous populations in Africa, Asia and South America and the primary mode of killing has been the covert use of biological warfare (including, but not exclusively, germ warfare). I have never denied war crimes by the Sri Lankan Government or its armed forces, however I have consistently maintained that there has never been GENOCIDE against Tamil people (there is more justification in the view that there has been genocide against the indigenous Veddah population). In my 2002 and 2008 Peace Plans for Sri Lanka (naive and simplistic as it may have been) I supported war crimes investigations and, if warranted according to independent investigations, charges against all who were implicated in them (including those on the side of the Sri Lankan government). My primary focus though, as someone who has lived in Australia for most of my life, was born in England and am fluent neither in Sinhalese nor Tamil, was to promote the idea that trilingualism may be the key to a lasting peace in Sri Lanka. These ideas and suggestions were based on my few years of schooling in Kandy, when I studied in the English medium at Trinity College (1968 to 1975), and observed for myself how the language policies of the government at this time was contributing to unnecessary and unhealthy division in the Sri Lankan populace according to linguistic, religious and cultural lines. I am cognisant of the limitations of my knowledge regarding what occurred during the war, since I have not been to Sri Lanka since the early 1980s and have had to rely on propagandised versions of the events to try and ascertain the truth. I am also reluctant to make or back accusations about which I do not possess the necessary facts. I do, however, know a fair amount about the overseas propaganda activities of the (minority of) LTTE-supporting members of the Tamil Diaspora, which is what I have focused on discussing in this forum. I am particularly concerned about spurious claims of “genocide of Tamils”. Genocide is a serious crime against humanity, and the term should not be used lightly.

You are correct that the FBI, not the CIA, has jurisdiction of domestic political demonstrations HOWEVER when suspected international terrorists give notice in advance of where they will appear in public, of course the CIA will record the identities of those present to compare with its database of persons of interest. Despite the attempts by you and your fellow propaganda cadres to gloss over the legal realities, the LTTE REMAINS a proscribed foreign terrorist organization under US law.

Dr. Romesh if only more of your people thought like you, the intractable cycle of violence caused by militants and their apologists, like Gamini and Donald and Vellupillai, could be ended. Then and only then can the various ethnicities of Sri Lanka live together in harmony in a multicultural state like now exists in Ireland or Germany, for example. But voices of moderation and compromise like yours tend to get silenced by the militants (eg Kadirgamar) who have so intimidated the masses that few speak dare out against extremism. In this regard, the Tamils, like the Palestinians, are cursed by the intractable brutality and meglomania of the leadership. Unless and until a reasonable and moderate Tamil leader emerges who can present a non threatening partner for peace to engage with the Rajapakses (or their successors) emerges, ALL Sri lankans will continue to suffer from the national schism.

The Ugly American believes that we perpetuate violence and not the Rajapaksa clan who had deals with the very LTTE leader VP earlier and VP paid the price and have been replaced with KP et al. There is State Terrorism today under the Rajapaksa Rule and not only the Tamils who toed the line with VP who are at the receiving end, but even the Sinhalese who point out the Corruption and the excesses of the Rajapaksa regime are at the receiving end and this lout hope a moderate Tamil leader will surface in the future. Why what about KP and Pottu Aman who is kept in comfort providing all the security? If this lout believes that the Rajapaksa’s will succeed by his heirs, good for him for his wishful thinking. As for this lout’s thinking for the Sri Lankan society to be like this Mad hatter Romesh, again is wishful thinking and a common trait among the mentally retarded.

American Lanka Lover There is cause and effect. Killing Wijeweera didn’t stop VP. Killing Wijeweera and Prabaharan is not the end to violence. Both were the historical products of Sri Lanka. Both were brutal and stupid. Until the state and its rulers become tough on causes of terrorism being merely tough on terrorism is not going to stop the cycle of violence. besides all these tough talks until the people wisen up we will continue to see American Lanka Lover blowing Clan’s ceremonial trumpet.

@M. F…………r or Hammer…. We have the Evidence, and some have been given to the appropriate authorities from March 2009 FY Freaking I.. WTF are you for me to give evidence.. You must be a freaking Moron to ask such an idiotic question. I do not discuss anyone’s divorce or child custody issues…. on public websites unless I am like your Mother and sister, or the thousands of child prostitutes both boys and Girls in the Sinhala South…. My Divorce is no Freaking business of yours or any other M F ….. r. BTW, I had custody of the young children from DAY 1 when they were 10 and 12, which is an absolute rarity in America.. My involvement with the Tamil struggle goes back to 40 years ago and accusations in Parliament was in August 1983.. The attacks on my properties and fleet of trucks and vehicles is well known in 1983…. So it has nothing to do with a short marriage. Sinhalese are experts on lying, stealing, robbing and burning.. The Bas………s who shed crocodile tears about under 18 soldiers of Tamils, and allowing their Sinhalese children’s Vagina’s penetrated by Buddhist monks, foreigners and the Boys are getting New As………………..Holes and Mouths by s…………g Foreign Richards left, right and center. What a freaking disgraceful race you F………..rs are !!!!! Prostituting your children by the thousands of boys and girls to foreigners and of your own kind including an Army major from Kurunegala.. ha haha… We can imagine what the army is doing to Tamil girls and children who are under 18 in the North and East, which never happened when the Tamil Freedom Fighters were in existence… Rape, Molestation, Torture and mass murder…and incarceration of 310,000 Tamil civilians under cruel and inhuman conditions…. Also stealing of Tamil land and properties…..with impunity….

Dear Donald, Calm down, machang! If you go on like this, you’ll have a heart attack and CT will lose its most bonkers contributor :) :) For the record, I’m not interested in your personal life, only that you provide proof of your repeated allegations of “80,000 war widows”” have been raped and “some or many multiple times” and cluster bombs, chemical weapons etc.. I’m very, very sorry to hear about the losses you suffered at the hands of racist, chauvinist Sinhalese mobs. I hope you’ll follow the Bible’s exhortation to “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.” Otherwise, you’ll end your days as a racist and chauvinist just like those Sinhalese mobs.

Donald is losing it and needs an intervention. Him accusing Gota of using profanity is a paradigm of the pot calling the kettle black. The childish namecalling from a man as old as he is undignified. While his mental meltdown is entertaining in one sense, it is bad karma to exult another man’s descent into senility.

Comments are FREE and Actions cost, however disturbing they may be. Yes indeed a civilised society is a long way off, for those who believe that Society will transform itself and fall on to their laps automatically. If Peace is to dawn soon, the dirty has to be done by someone to cleanse the system of evil, for the others to enjoy Peace and tranquility. As much as it is said that, Violence begets violence, it is also said that to quell violence, Violence has to be met with Violence, if not be prepared for being subjugated for Generations and generations to come. The Choice is yours and not one of mine.

The same with the chemical weapons usage for the past 3 years beginning from March 2009. Rest of it I will try and practice my philosophy of NOT throwing Stones on Shit, lest it spreads.. BAYAGULLAHS HAVE GONE INTO HIDING, AFTER RUNNING SCARED. Romesh “. You constantly refer to “stupid” Sinhalese and Tamils in your trollish comments, and admit frequently that you yourself are “thick”. First of all, let me tell you that I have no intention of disrupting this forum. However it is a well known fact that my purpose in this forum is to insult both the stupid Tamils and stupid Sinhalese on a regular basis. Both people deserve it and I am the right Vedda to do it for you, of course free of charge. I have said it before and I will say it again that I am bit thick. Even if my confession pricks my ego I am only trying to remain true to myself while being “intellectually honest” You say: “As you should know, the Nazis shared this sort of “genetic” racist belief.” I am not a racist and am not highly educated. Hence this name dropping, which I think is necessary, for me to stay afloat in this forum. However if you care to look at the genetic studies you will find M20 genetic marker is shared by Tamils and Sinhalese of Sri Lanka and Tamils of Tamilnadu. On the one hand Tamils and Sinhalese across Palk Strait are self destructive stupid people on the other they share M20 marker. What do you deduce from this commonality? You pride yourself as being researcher and writer on the genocide of indigenous people around the world. Would you kindly consider posting all your papers on Colombo Telegraph? This might benefit many of us to learn and share your experiences and conclusions. I am sure Colombo Telegraph would not mind. You say: “I have never denied war crimes by the Sri Lankan Government or its armed forces,” What are you doing about it? Remember war crime didn’t happen just in North East. In 1971 and between 1987 and 1991 Sri Lankan state killed or made to disappear nearly 150,000 innocent Sinhalese youth in the South. There should be an independent investigation on war crimes and crimes against humanity covering the period from 1971 to date. This is non negotiable. The claims of “genocide of Tamils” can wait for the moment. Rather than responding to a minority I suggest you work to bring accountability to the island which means setting up of tribunals to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity. That is the need of the hour.

So, nobody will believe that you are intellectually honest”. You are always calling all the people stupid, stupid and showing your stupidness. one day, You said to my comments, that you are bit thick or some thing . but Who Cares it. We are not here to see any body’s thickness. you thickness or thinness keep to yourself. And you claim that “I am not a racist”. but your comments are, always racially motivated and insulting to all races. killings, disappearances, rapes, looting were /are every where. from North Velvetithurai to south Devondora with the patronage from government and terrorist organisations. The JVP terrorists killed by the SLA in the South were no more “innocent” than so many of the purported “innocent civilians” who were killed in the Vanni operations in 2009. No terrorists are ever killed by GOSL, only “innocents”. GOSL has always been brutal because South Asia is a savage region and people fight dirty. This predated the Rajapaksas, yet they are scapegoated for having created all the ills afflicting the country by so many “journalists”, using the term loosely, like a certain recently unemployed female editor who shall remain nameless.

Could you clarify what you meant by “”purported “innocent civilians” “”. You say: “GOSL has always been brutal because South Asia is a savage region and people fight dirty.” Since according to Gospel of American Lanka Lover lets the savages continue to be savages. Do the South Asians compete among themselves to be the first among the savages? Your justification doesn’t hold water. Your perception that savages fight dirty cannot justify the brutal state’s war crimes nor can it deny LTTE’s share in it, just because they are savages. You too are carrying “White Man’s Burden”. Please off load your heavy burden, so the savages can look after themselves.

You say: “If you are getting a self satisfaction insulting other people, you have a mental disorder or suffering from a inferiority complexes.” I never said I am getting self satisfaction or pleasure out of calling the Tamils and Sinhalese stupid. Why do these two people make me to call them stupid? What have these two people achieved in the past 65 years for me or anyone else to recognise them as not so stupid people? How much destruction has these two people wrought to the island? Is it worth calling the perpetrators of destruction any thing other than stupids? The saddest part is that Tamils and Sinhalese came to my ancestral island by Kallathonies and grabbed my ancestral land yet they fight among themselves over ownership of my ancestral land as though they own the land. Morally repugnant people indeed. I should have been more scathing than at present. They deserve my insult. If I haven’t insulted you I am sorry I assure you will get your fair share soon. You

GOSL would not have crushed the tigers if it had played nice. GOSL would have been overthrown had it not used brute force to put down the various JVP insurrections. Collateral damages is inevitable in war and the problem was exacerbated in the Vanni by the LTTE practice of using Tamil civilians as human shields. Many government criticize GOSL tactics yet none of them have been as successful in destroying their primary enemy. On another note, SS post is spot on when he says the fact you relish insulting everybody else as stupid reveals a deep insecurity. And he also correctly noted your obsession with tribalism thinking the Veddas some master race or some such while insulting Tamils and Sinhalese.

American Lanka Lover: ” Collateral damages is inevitable in war” You have bought what the Americans are best at selling. You say: “Many government criticize GOSL tactics yet none of them have been as successful in destroying their primary enemy.” Oh as other Americans you too are ill informed or ignorant or both at the same time. It was the International Community which destroyed LTTE lock stock and barrel. Had the IC decided to protect LTTE it would have done so without a bullet being fired at Sri Lankan armed forces. They had several options which they never wanted to put to use. Their aim was to get rid of LTTE including its leader the petty Polpot. Don’t forget there are other Polpots whose time has not come yet. Best left them to the people to deal with them. You say: “reveals a deep insecurity” You are spot on for a change. Do you also believe my people are secured? Your people have stolen my ancestral land there is no full stop to it. Your state and its apparatus continue to harass my people even though they are boxed in enclaves. Would you like me to celebrate the fact that my people are being robbed of their land by Kallathonies and the fact that MR is the god sent king of the island? Other than fear and insecurity what else do you expect me or from Vedda clans? I never claimed that Veddas are master race. They are the true sons of the soils and the island once rightfully belonged to my ancestors until the Kallathonies set foot in the island. Is there any problem with that? Since the end of the war the Sinhala/Buddists now believe they are the master race. Why do you think Sinhalese and Tamils are not stupid people? Let me have one good reason and I will consider changing my mind.

SERUVILA SENARATH Below is a story about how Buddha handled insults I thought it might help you learn about insults: “The Buddha explained how to handle insult and maintain compassion. One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.” Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?” The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.” The Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.” “If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy.” The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. “You are right, o Enlightened One, “he said. “Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower.” The Buddha answered kindly, “Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me.” http://jokebest.tblog.com/post/1969956264

First, “My people” have stolen the lands of the American Indians NOT of the Veddahs thank you very much. Second: your people, like the indigenous inhabitants of North America, have been forcibly evicted from their ancestral lands and relegated to small pockets on undesirable land. Third, in both cases it was the superior technical acumen, including use of weaponry and communications, that made the difference. A bow and arrow cannot withstand a musket no matter how skilled the archer. Fourth, today, your people’s numbers are so small they are not players in the Tamil vs. Sinhalese power struggle. Finally, as a secular humanist I abhor all religions, but at the same time I do recognize the wisdom of various prophets, enlightened ones and saints.

To promote violence is easy and cheap, leaders who promote violence are the beneficiaries but others have to pay for their action. Leaders like Mahathma Gandhi, Nelson Mendella and Martin Luther king have lead the way with none violence movements and achieved their goals, those fights were much bigger than what we have today!

Has MR got the shivers and called off The Party to the Big Apple. The virtuous Akarsha’s services will not be called in this time. Pity -Namal and the lot would sigh. Naturally, TGTE and the lot have reason to claim they have won.The least-caring MR will not let one more chance to fool the Lankan yakkos. They are usually told he is one of the few who will dominate the proceedings of the UNGA – and the kept-media will carry this con to the people on the screens many times a day. The fact is leaders from the 190+ countries will be allowed to take the podium. While about a dozen of the leaders will be carefully listened to (USA, UK, Germany, China, Israel, Iran, Burma, Afghanistan) by a full house with rapt attention the rest will be speaking to 75% empty seats. This time is taken by many of the delegates to go out for a smoke, a cup of coffee, phone call or to the Loo. This job should be left to our non-performing team in NYC/DC. Senguttuvan

While the higher tiers of the Govt – blessed, in any case, by a low IQ level – cannot understand the compexities of what’s happening around in the world the learned Catholic Cardinal the Venerable Malcolm Ranjith calls immediate action by the President to settle the National Question pronto – before events in the region and the world overwhelm us. He makes oblique reference to the TGTE in hiw warning at Negombo. President Rajapakse and his 2 influential brothers – for all intents and purposes the entire GoSL – cannot be expected to understand the depths of this complex issue. In a series of private negotiations between experts from Sri Lanka and India on for sometime now via private NGOs, the Rajapakse GoSL has okayed a group of distinguished delegates but with the rider whatever formulae that comes out should not be critical of the Rajapakse governance or reference to the 13th amendment. The Indian experts are aghast at this and suspect this is one more ruse by the wily Mahinda Rajakse to stymie even these discussions. India, therefore, may have to act again in Genvea – where she is the Head in that trio with Spain and Benin – authorised by the UNSG. This can backfire on the Rajapakses and take them back to the brink again unless they show good faith and savvy soon. The danger is if the Tamil diaspora is to unite in the UK, EU and Canada then the TGTE will become a very potent force with far more clout than the scheming but low IQ Rajapakses. Senguttuvan
