      Dear Native Vedda,

Prime Minister Theresa May has done the correct thing. That is how a truly democratic leader would conduct business.

PM Theresa May demonstrates exemplary professional etiquette.

I was in favour of Brexit at a time when many were opposed to it. Many a EU members have second thoughts about the Union. They may follow the lead of GB.

Let us not talk about exemplary professional etiquette of individuals, whatever that may be.

“I was in favour of Brexit at a time when many were opposed to it.”

Why were you in favour of Brexit? Did you make an informed choice or being a new Brit were you suddenly overwhelmed by your own nationalistic irrational emotions?

        Give us some good reasons.

Native Vedda, Glad that you saved all your nice questions to me!

Where were you when I extended my support to Brexit even before the referendum. I’ll not use that as a justification to disappoint you.

You falter when you give in to irrational assumptions.

I am not a new Brit. I left Sri Lanka in 1980. Naturally, it rules out your ‘being a new Brit’ for me to be ‘suddenly overwhelmed by … own nationalistic irrational emotions’. Once, the latter part is ruled out, my response rests solely on the former part!

By the way, mine was not only an informed choice but was also an educated choice.

I am afraid that you might make more and more rash assumptions if you keep rushing. So, be cautious. Just a friendly guidance.

            Nathan

I am still awaiting your explanation to my query which is “Why were you in favour of Brexit?”

Sorry if you cannot explain have an educated guess, which may not be a wise one.

Whether you went there in 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 would not matter, as your people (arrivals of 1960 and before) consider you as freshy, uncultured, uneducated, eat smelly food, owning corner shops like the Indians, didn’t deserve the prestigious Brit nationality, ….. another newly created lower caste, not fit to be there among them, some were crooks, most were illegal asylum seekers whom they (1960s) considered to be disgrace to their people, country, class, and caste, …………….

Do you still practice caste hierarchy dowry system, serve the others in disposable cups and plates, ……….. and consider yourself cleverer than the whites, Indians, Pakistanis, much cleverer than the Blacks, and you hate “foreigners” particularly the East Europeans yet you consider yourself as liberal Brexiteer (Black Marketeer)?

              Cool down NV.

You have proved me right again. Lot of assumptions. And, ALL wrong again.

How about ONE just for the beginning. I do not live in GB. I have never LIVED in Britain. I am not a Brit!

NB: I don’t need to EXPLAIN to anybody why I was in favour of Brexit.

” I don’t need to EXPLAIN to anybody why I was in favour of Brexit.”

If you haven’t lived in Britain why were/are you in favour of Brexit? Who cares whether you live in Britain or not, does it matter whether you were in Britain or not,…. you couldn’t have made a tiny little effect on the outcome of the elections if you were not Brit.

Did your support in favour of Brexit alter the final outcome of the elections?

Since when did you become a non-Brit Walter Mitty?

If you don’t live in Britain and if you don’t need to explain, why the hell are you typing in these columns? Who wants to know whether you are in favour of Brexit or not if you cannot explain the reasons, and cannot effect the changes?

If you want someone to talk to have a chat with time wasters such typists like IH, HLD M, jimsofty, sach, Eussence, …….

What was the whole point of your presence in this forum if you have one?

Now you are behaving like a school boy!

One doesn’t have to have a vote to influence the vote.

No amount of your screaming is going to disturb my equilibrium.

I cautioned you to avoid making rash assumptions. You scream when you are caught pants down.

I can explain every bit of my comment or opinion in this forum. But, I don’t need to, to people who have a short fuse!

Don’t expect me to respond back next time, if your language is not going to be temperate.

‘PM Theresa May demonstrates exemplary professional etiquette’

Nonsense, she is a crafty, calculating woman. For months she claimed that this was not the time for a general election as the country needed stability. She refused a Scottish referendum on the same grounds. Suddenly, after realising that the Opposition’s popularity is as low as it can get, she calls a snap election. What a U turn. A hypocrite and scoundrel like all politicians.

Fortunately UK politicians are restrained by the Judiciary and public opinion, othetwise their greed for power would be as great as that of our own politicians.

Atticus, Do you want me to respond to your ‘Nonsense’. Or, Do you want me to meet your arguments. I wouldn’t descend to your level, so, let me meet your arguments, only.

      1) .. she is a crafty, calculating woman.

Yes, she is a politician. And, she has to deal with crafty, calculating people like you. I am speaking about her professional actions.
(I do not wish to get sidetracked).

      2) .. she claimed that this was not the time for a general election as the country needed stability.

True, This IS NOT the time for a general election. But, the conduct of people like you have thrust it on her. You are bringing in instability, the country cannot afford.
(That shows the love you have for the country. What am I speaking about .. ? People of your ilk have love for yourselves, only).

      3) .. She refused a Scottish referendum on the same grounds.

      Again, yes. Again same reasons.

      4) .. after realising that the Opposition’s popularity is low, she calls a snap election.

The snap election is her answer for the pressure thoughtless opposition is mounting against her administration.
(Yes, you made that call of her’s inevitable!).

I have no further time to waste with you!

Though you have wasted our time we are not complaining.

Nathan, 1) to 4) so you agree with all I have said and blame me for Theresa May having to call an early election. I didn’t know I was so important.

Atticus tries to compare or vilify British Politicians to Srilankan scum Politicos,
Prime minister May did not wait for the opposition’s popularity to tumble instead she waited for her popularity to soar!
According to the opinion poll she leads by a staggering 21%.
That’s when you go to the country, I mean call for snap election.
You wait for the moment unlike the Modo of Srilanka who went to polls after consulting the Katandiya.

East is East West remains West that’s the difference.

“Prime minister May did not wait for the opposition’s popularity to tumble instead she waited for her popularity to soar!”

Mother Theresa May is trying to avoid difficult questions in respect to Brexit final agreement. The expected final product (potential agreement)is not yet out in the public domain yet she demands the product to be endorsed by a general elections.

        How crafty that can be.

By the way have you noticed the number of times she made U Turns from her stated positions.

When you compare her to our politicians, our politicians are better placed than her, ours do not have any positions nor need to be scrupulous – because people have short memories, are stupid, dishonest, …… scrutinized by laptop journalists, ….

          Native Vedda

Anything for the betterment of a country is good for the Citizens too.
The majority even a kind of small majority voted for Brexit. The wishes of the Majority needed to be respected and the losers need to endorse and move forward for the sake of the country.
In this case People’s Mandate were respected.

I am sure many of the Tory Ministers too were against the wretched Brexit , When the country had voted to Exit they too respected the voters wishes as same as the PM May as she too was against Brexit initially.
The Parliament will vote today hoping for the 2/3rd majority to win her case against the Brexit Moaners.
Then she will have a strong mandate armed with the UK Parliament backing for her negotiations to start with the EU.
Even the Moaners have to answer to their electorates , the wishes of the majority voters were to be RESPECTED.

IN OUR APE AANDUWE THE Parliament engine is chugging on as there’s NO STRONG WILL FROM any single Politician to STEER THE ENGINE STRAIGHT AND CONFIDENTLY.
THERE ARE TOO MANY LEADERS RUNNING THE COUNTRY IN SRILANKA.

          CHUGGING AND CHUGGING BUT NOT MOVING F O R W A R D.
Nothing has been resolved except passing for themselves… and for their Family and friends PERKS making the country men poor day by day.
This poverty of our nation will spread for centuries no doubt .!!!
Finally the future of our Srilankans settled in Europe have to satisfy themselves to stay put where ever they reside now, they will have no free movement after the Final Brexit negotiations.

That’s the biggest head ache for the Parasites. They want everything !!! There are millions who left the country due to war , they are happy where ever they were given citizenship.
Those who are hiding awayfrom SL are the CROOKS of different nature,
They are either awaiting with bogus claims for asylum in foreign countries , they’re either from the SL armed forces hiding away or actual Srilankan hard core crooks with back up in Srilanka.
          Money launderers Ect, Ect, Ect.
No wonder as per today’s news the Nigerians have set up shops in Colombo as base for illegal activities.
          Hurray for all!!

Good move as she would like to have her own mandate. Despite the strong opinion polls in her favour it is not certain which way the results will go as the last few opinion polls were proved wrong. Also many people who have been interviewed since the GE was called seemed to have poll fatigue.

Good move for her and her party not so very good move for the people and British Democracy.
