Unjustifiable Cloud On Muslims After Easter Massacre

By Mohamed R. M. Farook

Mohamed R. M. Farook

A microscopic group of a recent origin and ‘supposed to be Muslims’, indoctrinated, grown and nurtured in terrorism by, may be, extremists ISIS and by all standards apparent apostates of Islam, executed the massacre on Christians on 21st April 2019 in Sri Lanka where the different communities had been living with understanding and mutual respect whatever there had been in terms of war or violence which were based essentially in politics, racism, chauvinism, geopolitics etc. The entire Muslim community, like all other communities, was shocked, saddened and grieved at this tragedy of suicidal mass killing. Muslims were angry and shocked because the perpetrators were supposed to be ‘Muslims’ and there is no room in Islam to hurt, let alone kill, any other religionists. Qur’an: “For you is your religion, and for me is my religion”, implying that those who follow other faith(s) are free to do so and not to be antagonised. Yet the duty of Muslims (as of any other religionists) is to convey the message of their religion (Islam) in peaceful manner, Qur’an: “Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and reason with them in ways that are best and most gracious”. This is the correct approach not only for Islam but for all religions.

The message of Islam must be made reachable to all so that anyone having any misconception of Islam may be made aware of the true Islam. This process should be through discourses by speech, print or electronic media and never through arrogance, force or physical / mental manipulations. Qur’an: “There is no compulsion in religion” – this means that Muslims cannot force others to become Muslims. This Verse is Universal and for all times and so under no condition should an individual be forced to accept a religion or belief against his or her will according to the Quran.  The above Verse “There is no compulsion in religion” does not get abrogated by any later Verses as had been erroneously interpreted out of context by a few early Islamic scholars, Christian interpreters of the Qur’an and finally as of today by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his ISIS followers and cohorts. The prophet of Islam was sent to preach the good news of Islam and to warn and correct those who were in complete error. Qur’an: “And We have sent you [O Muhammad (SAW)] only as a bearer of glad tidings (news) and a warner”.

It is the prerogative of Allah (swt) to make one accept Islam or not and Muslims can go that far in their Dawah (religious propaganda) work in upholding preaching only and no other influencing interventions whatsoever. “Indeed it is not such that you can guide whomever you love, but Allah guides whomever He wills; and He well knows the people upon guidance” [Qur’an 28:56]. Therefore, Muslims cannot get involved in or commission any practical interventions or conceptual formulations in their Islamic propagation efforts that will go against the Qur’anic verses cited above. Thus all the suicide bombers of the Easter massacre were adherents to a criminal ideology created and developed by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his cohorts – ISIS – who are infidels / apostates of Islam.

This is what the Muslims say of the suicide bombers. Unfortunately, or rather impulsively, different segments of the Sri Lankan society formed their own opinions as to the identity of the perpetrators of the Easter massacre and were erroneously trying to assign the blame on the Muslim community. This is to be expected as contemporary Sri Lanka had been immersed in racial and religious prejudice and violence against the Muslims by a small group of extremist Sinhala Buddhists. Yet, the Christians and their churches understood the real perpetrators and were silently grieving on the deaths of their brothers and sisters without intending to unleash any harm on the Muslim community. Archbishop His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith of the Catholic Church was immediate in his declaration that the Muslim community of Sri Lanka should not be blamed for what a deviant group of eight terrorists ‘supposed’ to be ‘Muslims’ were responsible for the Easter tragedy. This prevented any backlash on the Muslim community.

By now all must be able to note what type of deranged persons the suicide bombers were – they must have been trained, indoctrinated and inculcated with hatred towards specific religious groups on the premise what they (the extremists / terrorists) uphold to eliminate (kill) their others (opponents) is correct, justifiable and absolutely necessary in the present context of anti-Muslim world hegemonies. This ‘philosophy’ is un-Islamic and the only entity that preaches, advocates and implements this criminal ideology is none other than Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his ISIS. The purported rationale of ISIS for their attacks on Christians and American interests is taking revenge for America’s enmity towards Muslims in terms of murdering Muslims worldwide – this does not hold water as ISIS have murdered more Muslims than others for not following their (ISIS) criminal ideology which is nothing but Satan inspired Jewish creation. Islamic history has many instances where devout Muslims have gone astray through Satanic influences and that is the case with Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi and his ISIS which does not have Islam in its structure and therefore an outcast of Islam. ISIS is a hidden arm of Jewish terrorism.

While the Easter massacre has made the Muslims to be pejoratively looked upon with a sense of suspicion and guilt as if they were responsible for the tragedy, three weeks after that a different calamity emerged in the form of anti-Muslim violence in Negombo, Chilaw, Kurunegala, Gampaha, Minuwangoda. The police curfew declared to contain the violence was of no help to the Muslims of the areas. It helped the rioting mobs to destroy Muslim homes, business places and in the murder of an adult Muslim. The government should have foreseen that violence against Muslims could happen making use of the Easter tragedy and pro-actively taken measures to contain any violence. The government failed to do this though this government have all information regarding violence against Muslims in the recent past from Aluthgama, Beruwala, Ampara, Digana and connected areas.

Along with the tragedy and violence emerged a challenge to a certain group of the Muslim women viz. covering the face in public places was banned under security measures. Public security takes precedence / primacy over any other issues even religious – Islam allows this – Maslaha (Public Interest). Muslim community accepted this without any reserve. All Muslim women do not cover their faces (Niqab). Those who cover their faces follow the translation of a particular interpretation of the Qur’an whereas other interpretations allow the face to be uncovered. Islam allows under exceptional situations such as personal reasons of safety, public security, hardships, misuse / abuse of Niqab by criminal elements, Muslim women need not cover their faces. Islamic scholars throughout had been divided over the issue of face-cover each group citing valid evidences to justify their stand. There are two schools of thought prevailing for and against face-cover (Niqab). But from a global and local present day situational aspects with intricacies involved in the outdoor commitments in work, societal and domestic environments, it will be prudent for Muslim women to be without face-cover under the concept of ‘public interest’ (Maslaha).

Next let us look at the misunderstood and feared word ‘Thawheed’. Thawheed an essential attribute to be adhered to by Muslims is misrepresented and shamed after the Easter massacre due to ignorance as to what it means. Thawheed refers to believing in the Oneness of Allah (Islamic monotheism) with no partner or associate in His Lordship and His Divinity. Every Muslim must uphold Thawheed – worship Allah (swt) only and seek help from Allah (swt) alone giving up all shirks (polytheism / polytheistic rituals) and Bidah (innovations). Thus Thawheed is one among the three main characteristics that must form the personality of a true Muslim – the other two being Thabligh and Sunnah.

In fact, the Thawheed movements came into being to get rid of the Muslim community from the traditionally oriented shirk (polytheistic rituals) and bidah (innovation) that were prevalent among the Muslims. Gradually they were successful in their mission with intense oppositions from traditionally oriented Muslim community. With the successful growth of the movement and more Muslims supporting them with the eventual decrease in the traditional un-Islamic rituals, continual splits took place first in the main Thawheed movement and thereafter in the splintered groups and there are about seven or eight groups as of today in Sri Lanka. The splits could have occurred due to policy conflicts, leadership struggles, personality conflicts, organizational politics, financial benefits and various other matters. Whatever the reasons for their divisions, the main theme of eradicating Shirk (polytheism) and Bidah (innovations) were the main focus of each group and they were successful. Yet all these groups erred in parts of their sermons and activities in one way or other as they discoursed solely on their personal understanding of Islam without an in-depth study of Islam from all relevant sources. Then all of a sudden people heard of the National Thawheed Jamaath (NTJ) (banned now) responsible for the Easter Sunday massacre and its true image as a terror-based un-Islamic outfit got projected only after the Easter tragedy – until then even other ‘Thawheed’ organizations would not have realized the true nature of NTJ as a terrorist based group in line with the Islamic State or ISIS and therefore would have looked at NTJ as preaching Islamic Monotheism in an aggressive form not being able to comprehend what NTJ was really propagating is completely anti-Islamic ideology of hatred and killing of people of other faiths especially the Christians. When everyone came to know the true orientation / nature and the modus operandi of NTJ it was too late – deaths, damages and destructions have occurred.

The word ‘Thawheed’ was (and is) already having distasteful connotation with the conservative Muslims who are accustomed to rituals and practices that have no standing in Islam. Some within the conservative Muslims of various groups and sects did not want to give up any of their supposed to be religious practices / rituals even when they have been made aware of what they had been doing are un-Islamic. While unjustifiable opposition to the activities of Thawheed groups or the very notion of Thawheed itself was prevailing within the Muslim community, there emerged suddenly the Easter mayhem done by the National Thawheed Jamath. The word Thawheed now took an entirely different ‘image’ among the people, law enforcement authorities, political parties etc. Now the word ‘Thawheed’ is looked at with suspicion by all concerned – this notion must be get rid of if Sri Lanka were to move in the right direction. Thawheed is Islam or Islamic monotheism and every devout Muslim must uphold Thawheed – there is no question about it.

But what has happened is that the purity of Thawheed is being intentionally ‘spoilt’ or ‘twisted’ by the West by naming it as Wahabism – which is essentially a Western construct. There is nothing called Wahabism in Islam now or ever. The West is free to call anybody by any name pleasing to its liking but that does not change the sanctity of any concepts of Islam and in this case Thawheed. Opportunists abound in all societies especially after a calamity. And this is what happened in Sri Lanka after Easter tragedy. Opportunists of various types – political, religious, racial, ethnic etc. – are in action to gain for their advantage and not to address the issue at hand viz. eradication of global terrorism that has penetrated Sri Lanka.

The Muslim community has by now learnt that their selfishness, silence, indifference and inactions, by each and every Muslim organizations, political and intellectual personalities, as to what had been taking place within the Muslim community from the Dawah (propaganda) interventions and other relevant matters, have cost the lives of innocent people, brought immense distress and fear to the Muslims, setback the progress of Sri Lanka and finally the economies of individuals and all communities to suffer alike. Another lesson learnt is that some of the Muslim politicians, community leaders, academics, professionals, activists and even the Ulama who took part in various media briefings, individually and collectively, were espousing their personal notions and behaviours as Muslims and not what should be as per Islamic way of life – this is very dangerous because members of other faiths would wish the Muslims to conform to what have been said by these modernist Muslims. Where the subject matter should have been solutions to the curtailment of the ISIS based terrorism, violence against Muslims and subsequent assistance to life, property and the economy of the affected Muslims, these participants at media briefing were giving prescriptions as to how the Muslims, men and women, must adapt their lives and behaviours, particularly in dressing style, to be inclusive with other communities. Muslims had been always inclusive in their interactions with other communities, Sinhalese and Tamils, keeping their Islamic identity intact whether they were wearing sarong and coat (men) and sarees (women) in the distant past or wearing Abayaa and head Scarf today as per changing fashion in the Muslim Ummah worldwide.

Another episode we see in the aftermath of Easter massacre and violence against Muslims is the partial consolidation of the groups and sects of the conservative Muslims involved in practices and rituals that are un-Islamic coming to the fore and shaming those who are upholding Thawheed in their lives and demanding that all Thawheed Associations (Jamaths) be banned. Definitely any organization calling itself Thawheed or by any other name advocating terrorism must be banned. But organizations that are involved in propagating the teachings of Islam and taking their guidance from the Qur’an and the Hadiths (Sunnah) and where necessary the practices of the three immediate generations of the Islamic Ummah (nation) known as Salaf-Us-Saliheen (the Salafs) and devoid of Shirk (polytheism) and Bida (Innovation) are in the correct Islamic path and thus they should be untouched. Another phenomenon that has emerged is that the government, may be under pressure from vested interests – both Muslims and others – is trying to reform Muslim Personal Laws. One minister says the existing Sharia Laws will be amended and another minister says Sharia university will not be permitted. Both are diversionary tactics to hoodwink the people particularly the Sinhala Buddhists. When the Constitution guarantees religious freedom, how does the government trying to take away the Personal Laws of a religious community? Or is it only for Muslims? Who is asking for Sharia university? A non-existing issue. Further we have seen through media that the Prime Minister has said that the Muslim Marriages and Divorce Act (MMDA) will be amended to make the minimum age for marriage for Muslim girls as 18 years to be in lime will the general law of the country. MMDA is in hold at present due to diverse views to its amendments. The government should not make use of the present crisis to corner the Muslim community in various ways for pleasing the politico-racial element in the general populace and especially Sinhala-Buddhist racism. Any quick-fix to any issues making use of the present crisis and thereby not finding solutions to global terrorism that was seen in the Easter tragedy and the subsequent violence against Muslims will lead Sri Lanka towards the path of destruction for which the rulers of the present government will be held responsible and answerable by the would be future rulers.

The Muslim community has to learn deeply from all that have been mentioned above and seek multiple ways of moving forward. The Muslim community is essentially weak as a large number of Muslims are leading lifestyles for the love of this world (Dunyah) only and paying lip service to the Hereafter (Ahkirah) thus ignoring the foundational teachings of Islam. Allah (swt) tells us that His trials on the wrong doers will not only affect the wrong doers but also the righteous. This is what the Muslim community is experiencing now and this has to be rectified before Allah (swt) sends a greater calamity than what we see today. Let us first ask for forgiveness (Istighfar) and then supplicate to Allah (swt) to guide us to be in the righteous path of Islam. Why were the Muslims of yester years got the respect and goodwill of the Sinhala and Tamil communities? Muslims behaved according to Islam – they were trustworthy, honest, helpful, empathized with the difficulties of others, never hypocritical and so on. But today most of the Muslims, especially businesspersons, lack the qualities thus said and also indifferent to haram and halal in their earnings. Let each and every Muslim resolve to be a better Muslim day after day and seek the help of Allah (swt) in all their rightful and righteous endeavours.

While this Article is largely appreciated and an attempt is made to clear certain misconceptions about Islam, it still remains a fact that many ordinary, so called moderate Muslims do try to promote by whatever means, Islamism even though non-violently and look down upon practices of either. Conversions and proselytising is lauded, including enticements like money etc. Their reluctance in participation of local culture and aloofness is looked upon suspiciously. They too practice the so called misinterpretated versions of the Quran, of which there are many. and not just the extremists. There is a suspicion and crisis in confidence in Muslims amongst the non Muslims. For e.g. non Muslims generally have no reservations in participating in Iftars but do Muslims readily participate in other’s festivities.

Over 2000 Arabic schools and there is a very justifiable cloud over Muslims. http://www.sundaytimes.lk/190505/news/unravelling-growing-arabisation-348076.html

      Dear Mohamed R m Farook,

There are over 2,000 Arabic Schools. What is the value proposition to the graduates? To be able to work in the Middle East? Do they have the skills to work in the Middle East, Won’t they be better off turning them into English schools, so that they can in addition be more value locally and globally? Besides, English is the common language among the Muslims, just like with Christians and Buddhists.

Do the students in the Arabic schools learn other subjects besides Arabic and reading the Quran? What other skills do they learn?

If All-mighty God is All knowing, is the creator of All things, clearly the All-mighty can understand other languages, besides 7th Century Arabic, that has over 6,000 words with Persian roots.

The problems Muslims face goes back to the Revelation vs. Reason debate. The Ulama prevailed over the Philosophers, due to political reasons, and was the primary cause for backwardness.Philosophy is banned in Wahhabi Saudi Arabia, as it makes you think, and many Muslims cannot think rationally. The Quran and the Hadith blinds them.

So, for those literal fundamentalist Muslims, the Earth is spread out like a carpet and the Sun goes around the Earth and sets in muddy waters.

For the last so many weeks Colombo Telegraph has been inundated with articles on Easter Sunday bomb blast and how religions should be observed. Mostly references were Made to Catholicism and Islamism and how it should be practiced by humans.
While every one had his/her own point of view, my little nephew asked me a question as to why it is Referred to as ‘UYIRTHA GNAYIRU” in most of the Tamil News Papers, meaning it was the day on which Jesus Christ was resurrected. I explained to him accordingly. He was silent for a while and a short while later said, if it was a day of resurrection why was it not possible to Resurrect at least one of the dead by Jesus to prove that not only a Son of God, even his sons/daughters could be resurrected. My shallow mind could not give an answer to my deep thinking nephew. Can any one help please.

Mr Farook: What is happening in the Islamic word whether it is Sunni or Shiite is Al-Taqiyya : (Shiite) or Muda’rat (sunni). Muslims are not allowed to lie to their own believers. But, for non believers, they must lie and protect the doctrine.
Some how even before 1948, Sri lanka became important STRATEGICALLY for western powers They had a program. One of those was send Arab Oil money (because many Asian Intelligence Services, in this case Saudi Arabian Secret services) to promote extremist Islamic ideology. Muslim public is just part of the LAB rat likes. they would have been sacrificed, See former Yugoslovia, how they kiled christiand versus muslims. In Sri lanka, Muslim politicians had got billions of arab money to do everything in Sri lanka. they have given those money in ample amounts to Sinhala politicians and continued the Arabic Desert version of Islam.and building the Wahabi doctrine (ask Ven. Ghanasara, he says there are at least 41 counted and Saudi Intelligence confirm it). So, muslims have to be careful. Sri lankan Sufis suffered a lot but the news were not coming out from the media.
We know why Ven. Ghanasara is a very much hated character in Sri lanka because he is exposing the programs of foreign secret services and Arab money..

It is no point of Talking about ISIS. You are not allowed to talk about Koran of which the different translations have different things. Then what do you do with KAffirs, Al-Taqiyya ( Lieing to protect muslim identity) , Kitman (lieing by omission) , Tawria (intentional creating of false expression), muruna ( give up some practices to blend in) like expressions. When different Clerics, Imams, Mullahs, Maulavis explain the same book, it is destined to misinterpret.
I heard in Sri lanka, It is 900 or so Madrasas which had Desert Imams, when Shuria Council, Jamithullah council are there to enforce their ideology on other cultures, It won’t be reconciliation.

Muslims in Srilanka has to face the reality that their political leadership betrayed the true principles of Islam or principles of humanity. They should not deny that the political leadership played opportunistic game in order to get ministerial posts and extra ordinary benefits at the expense of other communities. Muslims cannot deny that Kathankudi is a breeding place for Islamic fundamentalism for many more years and number politicians are associated with Islamic Fundamentalism and violence. I am not justifying the violence against Muslims by Sinhala political opportunists. This violence is nothing to do with Easter bombing. It is a revenge attack for withdrawal of the support by Muslims for the regime they supported before 2015 Election.

Poor Muslims, they have never committed any anti-national activities or murders and other crimes. They are always being persecuted, discriminated and violated against.

If there is Allah, he should punish these shameless apologist criminals.

A very informative piece, perhaps written sincerely. However, Sri Lankans on the whole now resent the promotion of Islamic ideals in the mainstream, even if to merely set a record straight or inform the public at large.

While the Easter terror was not conducted by true Muslims, many places around Sri Lanka had stashes of sophisticated weaponry, modern detonators for explosives, hundreds of false passports, false rubber stamps of high officials in government, military uniforms and promotional videos of the terror mastermind Zahran Hashim.

Several of these safe-houses and mosques outwardly displayed white banners expressing their sincere heart-felt condolences for the victims who died on Easter Sunday. These types of double-games by some Muslim representatives make the mainstream Sinhala population more resentful and distrusting of otherwise innocent Muslims in Sri Lankan neighbourhoods.

      Lasantha Pethiyagoda,

Don’t forget the white Sil dresses found. Looks like Fatimas had been planning on obtaining Sil at Vesak.

Then there was the 1500 or so phones and SIM cards. The Balu Mas (Dog meat) sold at a Muslim eatery for Sinhalese customers.

That notorious Doctor who sterilized patients. The list goes on. The rule of thumb is, Trust a Muslim at your peril. A Muslim is never a sincere person. That has been proven not just after the Easter bombings but since beginning of time.

        Shamal Perera,

Do you mean to say that the Sil dresses traditionally worn by Sinhala Buddhists for the Sunday Night Sil, to be followed by the Monday Night Kill, has been copied and imitated by the Wahhabi Terrorists?

Is that the reason why Mahinda Rajapaksa distributed Sil Reid, Sil dresses, before the last Presidential election?

        Please check with the Tamils.

        • 2
          0

          Amarasiri,

We don’t have to check anything with the Tamils. Tamils are not that important to us for Christ’s sake.

What do you mean by Monday kill? You mean Sinhalese observe Sil on Sunday and then come and kill Tamils on Monday?

Well, let me tell you that the safety of Sinhalese are of paramount importance. From the days of Kalinga Magha, the Sinhalese nation has been under threat and only with utmost precautions can we survive. Every minority in Sri Lanka, except the peace loving Malays and the business minded Borahs have compromised the security of the Sinhalese.

The day when Amirthalingam’s wife threatened to kill all Sinhalese and decided to make shoes with their skin, you would assume a War had been started. Don’t blame the Sinhalese for killing Tamils on a Monday night. It has not been our choice but war has been thrust upon us. Blame your politicians or rather your warlords first.

I was taught to read Holy Quran in Arabic and I read it with much respect and fear. But later when I started to read the meanings and Hadeed (life and sayings of Prophet), I could only laugh at those who take them seriously. I think God and Ghost are people’s imagination. Quran talks about Ginns which must be bacteria because Prophet never said anything about microbes. Even if really there is a God, he wouldn’t be such a bad person to fry his creations in hell fire. Don’t worry, have a clean shave and enjoy life or at least allow others to enjoy their life without fear. Those virgins can hang on to something else. Even if there is a hell, he assured that you won’t be alone.

Please, just stop playing the victim. It’s getting tiring, not only that, people are not stupid! Most of us with a proper education and a brain understand that Islam is spread through the sword!! All you need to do is just speak to an ex-muslim. And please do tell us what the price is for leaving Islam?? So please, don’t start with compulsions!! You may be able to fool the bleeding heart leftists but more and more people understand the cancerous nature of your criminal cult.
You’re complaining about some inconveniences to Muslims but answer this, those people who paid with their lives and and limbs, where is the reconciliation for them??? What assistance has YOUR community offered them? What did those innocent souls do to deserve to be butchered that way?
You ask for more and more special accommodations to be made from a society who has accommodated your needs thus far, do you HONESTLY believe that you will be accommodated this way in any other society?
Don’t expect empathy when you deserve none!

Muslims killed 250 people on Easter Sunday, they are lucky 2500 of their haven’t been targeted by now.

If this happened somewhere in say India, all hell would have broken. You better thank your lucky starts that Sinhalese are nice people.

There is a video in which Zaharan and his colleagues discussing about the serman that Zaharan gave. In their one of Zaharan’s friend says that Zaharan’s preaching was too extreme and even humans can not practice that.
Here muslims deny it. But, the problem is anyone interpret the Quran to suit his way of believing. That is why Wahhabism would destroy muslims and create more problems with other devotees. Because Quran is fill of how non-believers (Kaffirs and Infidels) and believers) should be treated.
The amazing thing here is brain washing muslims to kill themselves. Videos are available even for that in which Sri lankan politicians and preachers are having conversations.

We are non Muslims , haven’t read Quran and therefore out of these various groups we do not know who is correct and and who is not. Neither we know much about Allah (swt) or Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
As for me in respect of the correct interpretation I take guidance from Islamic scholars in Saudi Arabia.
Non Muslim public in Sri Lanka should be educated on how religious minorities are treated in major Muslim countries.
Muslims here should be satisfied with the level of treatment they receive in Sri Lanka if it is the same or better as what non Muslims receive in Saudi Arabia.

How are you? Being called a Racist by a Moslem is an honor to a Sinhalese like me. I’d rather be a racist than be an Easter Sunday victim.

Retarded Low Ranking army coolie, you are no Sinhalese. I know a lot of Sinhalese people and have many Sinhalese as friends. There are many in my family who are Sinhalese through marriage. They are not anything like you. You are a low class filth, discarded by the low class army, and today remain a low class codger wandering around like a stray dog looking for scraps on the streets of the west. Don’t call yourself a Sinhalese. The Sinhalese I know are an amazing bunch of friends and family, who are always willing to help. You are a loony bugger, your mother abandoned you when you were a baby as she could not stomach the impending failure you were going to turn out.

Mr Farook, Thank you for your lengthy explanations. The truth is that, in a relatively small community, it was the duty of the elders to police the behaviour of those who would bring harm to it. So, 50 to 60 miscreants did their evil work, and now the whole community is destined to suffer. For a very long time. Additionally, they have also played in to the hands of the vitriolic and despicable BBS who will now make capital of it for a long time to come. I hate to be pessimistic, but I don’t know if the Muslims of Sri Lanka will ever recover from the actions of the evil few.

This Arabisation was not only taking place in the east and Kattankudi but also in the Mannar area , where along the highways from Thalai Mannar to ChilawThurai upto the Wilpattu sanctuary. Housing schemes for Muslims have been funded by the Shaitan from Mannar with Arabic names replacing ancient Tamil place names and Arabic name boards that still have not been removed. Do not believe these people . They still want to play the victim. Just look at the photo typical South Indian Dravidian with a beard like all the Muslim commentators but all will claim that they are light skinned Arabs.

All Muslim apologists, for the start please go ahead and remove name boards in Arabic, change names of villages or towns to Sinhala or Tamil ones, demolish structures put up which depict Arabic architecture and cut down all date palm trees. If you do this as a first step then we can believe that you are honest about reconciliation. Please do not shield Muslim politicians, businessmen and officials who have funded and supported Islamic terrorism who are still roaming freely because of our Sinhala politicians and officials who have taken money from them and have used them to do dirty work. If you do not comply with this order, very soon patriotic Sinhala public supported by rank and file politicians, Buddhist priests and Security officers will take action to rectify the damage caused to the country by your shrewd methods to subdue Sinhalese by terror tactics.

The extremists have been identified. Still there are moderate and those Muslims who are against extremism. What the Muslims should remember and understand that all co existed in Sri Lanka for long years. It is time the Muslims and from within the community it self should alienate those extremists. Information must be provided. Stop voting for those politicians who thrive on ethnic topics by trying to work up young blood.
In order to win the trust of the others will take time. However the Muslims must get together and expose all Muslim and Sinhalese politicians who are trying to gain by instigating violence.

Agreed. However please keep in mind that the Muslims were being hammered by unscrupulous monks and racialist laymen, the likes of Shamal Perera, John Perera, Eagle eye etc etc. But that should not dissuade us. All decent Sinhalese and Muslims must stand out and try to overcome our petty differences by mutual discussion and learn to live side by side. This was the way of All religious Leaders.

Mahatma Gandhi’s views about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

I wanted to know the best of the life of one who holds today an undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind. I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission.

That way writer is trying hard to Justify 21/4 massacre by few of his fellow Muslim That is what I can say on this essay. As such government should ban it for the safety of the other religion worshipers. They are only 9.5% but the others are 90.5 %..

    Dear Mohamed R. M. Farook,
I know that you Muslims tell us over and over again that Islam is a religion of peace, a fact that would have been believed by our grandparents maybe 40 or so years ago and today by some who live in the digital age and don’t read enough I am a Catholic and a Burgher born an bread in Sri Lanka, studied in a Catholic School and have extensively traveled the world and I beg to differ on many of the statements in your article – first “For you is your religion, and for me is my religion”, implying that those who follow other faith(s) are free to do so and not to be antagonized, however the The following quotes taken by me from the most trusted Yusufali’s translation of the Qur’an – which I will quote extensively – tells us: “not to make friendship with Jews and Christians” (5:51), “kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” (2:191), “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123), “fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem”
“There is no compulsion in religion” – this means that Muslims cannot force others to become Muslims BUT THEN the Qur’an 5:33 says The penalty of those who wage war against God and His messenger and seek corruption in the land is to be killed, or crucified, or to have their hands and feet cut on alternate sides, or to be banished from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter they shall have a great punishment.
Qur’an also says “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah’s cause) those who disbelieve, smite (their) necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, take them as captives). (47:4)
