{"id":103810,"date":"2013-09-05T03:03:28","date_gmt":"2013-09-04T21:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=103810"},"modified":"2013-09-09T14:34:46","modified_gmt":"2013-09-09T09:04:46","slug":"vimukthi-sahan-paradise-road-galleries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/vimukthi-sahan-paradise-road-galleries\/","title":{"rendered":"Vimukthi Sahan @ Paradise Road Galleries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Vimuthi Sahan, an emerging contemporary, started professionally painting in 2007 and since then he has already had a solo exhibition and collaborated in many group shows island-wide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">A graduate of the University of Visual and Performing arts, Sahan, in this exhibition depicts life in Sri Lanka, the political and social turmoil the younger generation face today. Living and breathing in a post conflict country. Where are we heading? Where do we want to be?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">He also approaches the importance of technology today and how his generation interacts and the affect it has on personal relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">With the use of strong, distinctive colours such as Black, White, and Red together with fragmented, erratic lines, Sahan succeeds in bringing forward the voice of his generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">This exhibition will be presented at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Paradise+Road+Galleries&amp;x=10&amp;y=4\">Paradise Road Galleries<\/a><\/span> from 6 September 2013 to 3 October 2013.
