{"id":104517,"date":"2013-09-09T00:02:09","date_gmt":"2013-09-08T18:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=104517"},"modified":"2013-09-13T18:07:47","modified_gmt":"2013-09-13T12:37:47","slug":"buddhist-monk-led-mob-attacked-pentecostal-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/buddhist-monk-led-mob-attacked-pentecostal-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Buddhist Monk Led Mob Attacked Pentecostal Church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Amid claims of rising religious tensions created by Sinhala hardliners, a group led by a Buddhist monk has allegedly attacked the &#8220;Living Water'&#8221; Pentecostal church in Meegoda during while the church service was underway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Police are reportedly investigating the complaint although no arrests have been made so far. Details of the investigation will however be presented before the Homagama Magistrate today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">Devotees say the attackers had arrived at the church about an hour after the service had begun, assaulted worshipers and damaged property. Two people have been hospitalised after sustaining injuries during the attack.
