Statement by the Ceylon Communist Party (Maoist):<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) was held in Sri Lanka recently, between the 15th<\/sup> and 17th<\/sup> of November 2013. This is at a time when the Sri Lankan State and the current Rajapaske Regime is being held accountable for \u2018alleged\u2019 war crimes and atrocities during the final phase of the civil war by the UNHRC in Geneva, led by the US and its coalition of partners. The US as the number one terrorist, genocidal State in the world and in history, which stands accused of the most horrendous and barbaric war crimes, and its equally complicit coalition, is holding one of its trusted junior neo-colonial partners accountable for war crimes. This has to do with consolidating effective control over the lifelines and the politics of Sri Lanka in the context of intensifying inter-imperialist rivalry to maintain and expand strategic superiority in the Asia Pacific\/ Indian Ocean Region between the US and China. It shows up the murdering hypocrisy of the imperialist system, including that of the United Nations.<\/p>\n

To be expected, the Commonwealth, a crowning world body of former genocidal colonial predator states, along with their bloodied neo-colonial enforcers, has conferred its blessings and approval on one of the most trusted and ruthless neo-colonial terrorist executors of world imperialism- the Mahinda Rajapakse Regime. The Commonwealth has conferred chairmanship to an \u2018alleged\u2019 war criminal being held accountable by the UN. The Regime seized upon the chance to ingratiate and legitimate itself with this club of colonial-imperialist criminals in order to save its neck from the Geneva stranglehold. It was indeed pathetic and comic to see H.E. the President beaming with supreme pride as he showered his supine and servile graces upon Prince Charles, who had represented the Queen of Britain- one last archaic symbolic vestige of colonial barbarism, genocidal conquest and plunder. This is the Executive President who is claimed to be the reincarnation of a legendary line of Sinhala warrior- conqueror kings. The one who had authorized and orchestrated the military decimation of the Liberation Tigers of Thamil Eelam (LTTE) and \u2018liberated the Motherland\u2019. This is the President who stands up as the guardian of the Sinhala-Buddhist Nation, the living embodiment of militant patriotism, fighting to defend the Land, Religion and Language of the \u2018chosen people\u2019, against any and all foreign powers. The charade, the hypocrisy, the sheer ideological jugglery and political bankruptcy, the abject colonial servility was drowned out by the sustained din of official patriotism, jingoism and self-glorification, designed to stupefy and entrance the masses into fervent submission to the Regime. It was just one sick show of abject servility and capitulation to colonial-imperialist and regional hegemonic powers who are busily dividing up, slicing and devouring the country in order to advance their geo-political strategic interests in the Region, with the Regime living off the fat spoils of imperialist exploitation, profit and plunder.<\/p>\n

The CHOGM was celebrated at an astronomical cost, even as the masses are being bled dry and driven to the ground by the forces of neo-liberalism. It is being rejoiced with pomp and pageantry when the people are being silenced through terror. When they are being ruled by a notoriously corrupt, parasitic, crony-mafia-narco Comprador-Capitalist cabal, commanded by the Rajapakse ruling troika,\u00a0 that functions as a \u201cState within a State\u201d. The CHOGM takes place when the Tamil and Moslem nationalities, the oppressed masses living in the North-East have been brought under direct military occupation and political subjugation. This is under a centralized, Sinhala-supremacist, hegemonic-chauvinist, neo-colonial unitary State, enforcing a comprador-capitalist class dictatorship commanded by the Rajapake Regime. The Commonwealth Summit is being celebrated when their traditional homelands are being occupied and\u00a0 grabbed up, and their historical identity being erased by\u00a0 colonizing armed forces. This is alongside the varieties of devouring, plundering war lords, drug lords, speculators and racketeers who ravage the Land and invade their heritage, in conjunction with predator multi-national corporations out for plunder and profit.<\/p>\n

The CHOGM is being held when the Rajapakse Regime is on record for continuing<\/i>,\u00a0 systematic and gross violations of human and democratic rights amounting to crimes against the people and humanity. This litany includes setting up a chauvinist-militarist-terrorist class dictatorship under the cover of a \u2018five star\u2019 constitutional democracy. A terrorist Capitalist class dictatorship that has buried the pretext of bourgeois democracy and ripped apart all trappings of bourgeois constitutional governance. A neo-colonial, Comprador- Capitalist State and a Regime responsible for carpet bombings, serial abductions, extra-judicial killings, gang rapes and torture, and continuing killings and abductions of journalists and progressive\/revolutionary\/ democratic forces, including workers, farmers, fishermen, villagers and students.<\/p>\n

The CHOGM was all about legitimizing the Imperialist World Order, with its globalized apparatus of neo-colonial domination, penetration and plunder. It was all about paying blood tribute and empowering one of its loyal and trusted vanguard enforcers, CHOGM has simply been a \u2018pat on the back\u2019, an offering of a certificate of compliance and performance to President Rajapakse and the Comprador-Terrorist Dictatorship. This is for doing an exemplary job at terrorist suppression of the people, opening the floodgates to neo-liberal penetration, and functioning as an advanced, strategic, counter-revolutionary, neo-colonial outpost in the South Asian\/ Indian Ocean Region, in the service of world imperialism. So much for war crimes, for truth and justice in the world, under the System.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
