Can anyone believe<\/i><\/b> that the \u2018entire inquiry \u00a0proper\u2019<\/b> was concluded within \u2018six hours\u2019,-about five hours of one continuous<\/span><\/b> <\/i>sitting<\/span><\/b>, for examining and recording the evidence of 16 witnesses and \u00a0marking over1000 pages of documents and 20 minutes<\/span><\/b> for considering and approving the final Report.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0[more details later<\/b>]\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

<\/i>The Chief Justice of the country<\/span><\/a> was \u2018summarily dismissed\u2019 without a \u2018fair trial\u2019, in secrecy ,in her absence , on the findings of a \u2019partial panel\u2019 , without the four\u00a0 opposition members, and after\u2019 denying her right to a legitimate defence.?\u2019 contrary to all \u2018Principles of Natural Justice.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0The final determining \u2018panel of seven\u2019 was all, one sided, only by the government ministers.<\/i><\/p>\n

\"CJ<\/a>How was it possible to finish the \u2018hearing\u2019 of 16 witnesses and \u00a0to examine\u00a0 over 1000 pages of documents, in just five hours<\/span><\/b> \u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0How can the deliberations, findings, the preparation, consideration and approval of the entire Report take place in just 20 minutes?<\/p>\n

There is a great \u2018mystery\u2019 as to how it happened. Was there an outside hand involved? in manipulating the process and especially in preparing the \u201cFinal Report\u201d. When and where, was it prepared?<\/p>\n

Everything seems a predetermined and a foregone conclusion.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court considered the Standing Orders as \u2018inadequate\u2019 and the Court of Appeal has \u2018Quashed the findings of the PSC, yet the \u2018Rulings and Orders\u2019 were contemptuously disregarded. The Judiciary has now<\/span> come under the spell of the political authorities.<\/p>\n

We, the members of the BAR, are entitled to know the Truth, and we must investigate and find the truth, as it concerns us most ie the Head of the Justice System has been unfairly treated and summarily dismissed. We cannot be mere spectators to this tragedy<\/p>\n

The BAR cannot dismiss the entire episode lightly, it is too serious a matter to forget or ignore, to acquiesce or condone as \u2018fait accomplice\u2019, and it is a shame that, the BAR should abandon the struggle for justice, for the restoration of the Chief Justice. It is not a question of success or failure, but to continue to agitate and campaign, to sustain the tempo, and seek to rectify the injustice. The future of the \u2018justice system\u2019<\/b> is at stake, the judiciary <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>is<\/b>already shaken<\/span>, by the might of the political authority and by the weakness of the BAR. If we do not assert but succumb, we have no future. It is a difficult and a formidable task, against all odds, yet even a low profile, silent and a sustained \u2018invisible\u2019 campaign must go on. Only the lawyer fraternity can and must do this.<\/p>\n

How can we condone a six hour \u2018summary injustice\u2019<\/span><\/b> to a CJ. \u00a0\u00a0It is an affront to all of us, esp. the BAR, the lawyer fraternity. We cannot permit the perpetuation of \u2018injustice\u2019 in this country. Justice is too sacred to be left in the hands of politics. Only the BAR can \u2018collectively\u2019 assert and ensure, justice, no one else can.<\/p>\n

A few of us have dedicated to serve the \u2019cause\u2019, in a subdued and sustained manner. We now seek your support and co-operation .<\/p>\n

More and detailed information<\/span> on the impeachment mystery will be provided and the \u2018Truth\u2019 will be revealed, deception exposed.<\/p>\n

Hope is our greatest strength-not despair. Truth will triumph. We must restore the Independence and Integrity of the Judiciary, and give confidence to the Judges, and save the \u2018justice system\u2019. Otherwise we are doomed, and the future is lost, in helplessness. Tomorrow is too late, it is now or never, act now than regret later.<\/p>\n

There are ominous signs of the impending disaster, from the police to the AG\u2019s department and even in the higher judiciary. A document on the various \u2018injustices\u2019 from protecting drug peddlers to shielding criminals and murderers is being compiled. We must save the \u201cJustice System\u201d from political interference. Let us not permit-\u2018Casino Mafia Culture\u2019 to destroy the future.<\/p>\n

The BAR and the Lawyer fraternity must be stoutly independent, from politics. That is our strength, to ensure unity and collectivity. Let not political forces divide and weaken us or take advantage.<\/p>\n

Our single greatest task now is to reiterate our continued commitment to expose the impeachment racket, and to maintain the vigilant, vibrant, and activated independence of the BAR.<\/p>\n
