Gnanasara&#8217;s Signature Forged, BBS Claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A letter released to media via email by a group posing as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Bodu+Bala+Sena&amp;x=5&amp;y=4\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bodu Bala Sena<\/span><\/a> (BBS) has put forth several spine-chilling pledges that had raised alarms over the fate of minorities in Sri Lanka. However, the organization\u2019s Chief Executive Officer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Dilanthe+Withanage&amp;x=12&amp;y=4\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dilanthe Withanage<\/span><\/a> told Colombo Telegraph that the press release was not circulated by them.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_127027\" style=\"width: 263px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Dilanthe.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-127027\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-127027\" alt=\"Dilanthe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Dilanthe-253x300.jpg\" width=\"253\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Dilanthe-253x300.jpg 253w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Dilanthe.jpg 514w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 253px) 100vw, 253px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-127027\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dilanthe<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The letter \u2013 printed on a BBS letterhead, bears the organization\u2019s logo and is signed by its General Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Galagoda+Atte+Gnanasara+&amp;x=5&amp;y=6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Galaboda Atte Gnanasara<\/span><\/a>. It was released to the media this evening, stating it contains the main decisions made by the BBS during their executive committee meeting held on June 25.<\/p>\n<p>According to this document, the following pledges had been made by the BBS members to address the present crisis they are facing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Decision to form an armed group affiliated to the BBS in retaliation to the recent attacks against their organization; support from the Defense Ministry and Burma\u2019s Buddhist extremist movement, the 969 group will be sought to establish the armed group.<\/li>\n<li>A BBS unit will be created in every Sinhala, Buddhist school while taking measures to oust all non-Buddhists from each of those schools.<\/li>\n<li>Rallies to be organized in Mawanella, Batticaloa, Ampara and Beruwala in order to mobilize Sinhala, Buddhists against Halal products and the purdah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From here on if any halal product or purdahs are sighted, immediate action will be taken by the BBS force, against the items. This action plan will be implemented through direct contact with the state intelligence services. Further discussions on the plan are being held between the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Gotabaya+Rajapaksa&amp;x=12&amp;y=3\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gotabaya Rajapaksa<\/span><\/a> and our CEO Dilanthe Withanage.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Considering the assistance given by the Defense Secretary during the organization of the BBS rally in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Aluthgama&amp;x=12&amp;y=5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Aluthgama<\/span><\/a>, our organization\u2019s Executive Committee meeting has selected Secretary Rajapaksa to represent laymen in the Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, when inquired by the Colombo Telegraph on the genuinity of the letter released to the media, Withanage said they believe it\u2019s part of a conspiracy against the BBS as it was not released by them. He had gone on to state that they will lodge a complaint with the CID on Monday to prove into this email that was circulated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a conspiracy against us and creating problems in the country. I have a strong feeling in Aluthgama also some group attacked to create problems. We will complain to the CID on Monday to investigate this false email.
