A couple of days ago, when I was using the men’s rest room, I overheard two gentlemen discussing an article you had written on the Election Day (Trust me! people really discuss your articles in restrooms). I don’t know much about the content of your article but I am sure it must be very powerful, as one of those gentlemen commented that you are not a political scientist but merely a political stripper whose job is to please the pay masters. At this point I was tantalized to interrupt them and argue that you are an intellectual of immeasurable scale. To my greatest disappointment, before I pulled my trousers on and came out of the toilet cabin, both had left.

That was the moment I decided I should write a letter of appreciation to you to express my solidarity with your views. Also I would like to tell you that no “true” Sri Lankan would accept the comment that you are a “political stripper”, because I have seen so many strippers in my life, both in the Hollywood movies and in the “unholy” videos I downloaded from the internet and none of them looks like you. I think this point itself is enough to prove the world that you are not a political stripper, but a political scientist indeed.

I don’t understand why the world or perhaps the Colombo Telegraph readers want you to be Anti-Mahinda Rajapaksa. Everybody has the right to support whoever they like. It doesn’t need to be based on a justification. For example, does anybody ask a die-hard Sumana Gomez fan why he is crazy about her? No. Perhaps that emotional bond is beyond justification or we as a civilized society accept one’s right to choose without any rationale.

Your case is also something like that. I support Mahinda Rajapaksa, because of his joie de vivre look and for me Maithripala Sirisena looks like a school principal, not like a national leader who would give me a motor cycle at a subsidized price. People continuously attack you as they think all the intellectuals should make their decisions purely based on ethics. Well, that’s for intellectuals. I mean, this time you have acted as Dayan Jayatilleka, not Dr.Dayan Jayatilleka the political scientist.

I, as a common man of Sri Lanka, strongly believe that nobody has the moral right to call you a hypocrite. I would use a biblical example (John 8:1 -11) to support my argument. A woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus. The crowd wanted the woman stoned to death, a punishment for the sin she had committed. Jesus told the crowd only the ones who have never sinned can stone the woman. You know something; No such man was there to stone the woman.

Dear D J, you also live in the same society. Whoever criticizes you is not pure. They do all kinds of sins. They consume alcohol, they smoke, they lie, they cheat and above all they watch the banned movie “Flying Fish” on YouTube, and these are the people who comment about you in the political forums, most of which are edited out by the moderators.

I consider you the one, and the only God sent savior to protect our motherland from the UNHCR, which is an NGO, funded by the CIA. In 2009, you stood bravely and fought against the malicious Madam Pillay and protected the country. But the country betrayed you. The very country you fought to save, removed you from your diplomatic position. It was too late when everybody realized that was an enormous mistake and we started to lose every battle in Geneva thereafter.

Your theory of moral high ground is the one and only convincing model explaining how we won the great humanitarian operation without any civilian casualty. As per your theory, it could be understood that our brave troops went to war with a T-56 rifle in one hand and the “Learn International Human Rights in 30 days” book in the other. They never fired a single bullet even on the enemy positions. When the LTTE fired on them, they kept on chanting the clauses of the international human rights. This led our to troops to achieve the moral high ground status, and the ruthless LTTE cadres started to feel super guilty and took the cyanide capsules they were given by their leader. You explained this in the May 2009, UNHCR sessions to the world and as a result the western imperial forces couldn’t pass the resolution against our motherland. You also proved the world that the civilians’ death during the great humanitarian operations was purely due to the allergic reactions to the fairness cream which the people in Vanni were using, and not due to the military operation.

Another theory you have used to counter the so called human right activists’ claim of 40,000 civilians killed, is the Materiality concept. This, your diplomatic peers say you have taken from the financial audit principles. The materiality concept allows a particular margin of error in the account books. Generally, amounts grossing less than 5% of the Profit before Tax are considered to be immaterial to financial auditors.

The average number of deaths per annum in the world is said to be 56.6 Mn. You proved to the so called human rights activists that the number, 40,000 people (0.00007 % of the total deaths in a year) killed as per the estimate given by UN is not only immaterial, but also completely negligible. The contemporary political science scholars say this is the argument which made western and neo Zionist forces spellbound and speechless. These are the same forces which conspired to remove you from your position of permanent representative to the UN in Geneva.

Every year, hundreds of people go missing in the USA. UFOlogists claim that most of these people are abducted by aliens. The US government blatantly denies this claim and does not take any legal action against these aliens, citing lack of evidence. In the USA, Aliens operate with total impunity.

In Sri Lanka, the same aliens abduct people from minority communities in Unidentified white Four wheeled Objects (some people call these “white vans”), and the hypocritical USA and the neo Zionists along with the neo separatist Tamil Diaspora blame the Sri Lanka security forces for these disappearances. This is part of the mudslinging campaign by both USA and Israel, as they always feel jealous about our valiant armed forces and their inability to defeat the jihadists in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Another accusation leveled against our motherland and the former Rajapaksa government is that the Tamils from Vanni were forcibly taken in busses and herded in detention camps, fenced with barbed wire, in May 2009, an act denying freedom of movement ensured by the constitution. This is a serious allegation, however you fought against this with your wisdom. You convinced the international community that the so called detention camps are, in fact welfare camps where those poor ‘not so refined’ Tamils were rehabilitated and taught how to apply the fairness cream on their face so that they would look nice and cheerful like the people in the other part of Sri Lanka.

Most of the people in the country do not understand why the west and the UNHCR make a lot of fuss about Tamils in the Northern provinces. The Sri Lanka government has given the youth volunteer teacher posts and adequate samurdhi payments to buy fairness creams. Now they are given the Yarl Devi also so that they can go on picnics to other parts of the country. Tamils in the north are more than happy, but the neo capitalist elements in the west try to portray them as unhappy and try to create a new world order which is in favour of their capitalist agenda.

Presently the country is facing another severe threat from the so called human rights organizations. These NGOs start screaming whenever someone digging the ground for construction work finds a human skeleton. Finding of human remains is an ordinary event which has also happened in other countries such as France, Italy and Russia in the past. The west says those skeletons belong to homo erectus, Neanderthal and homo sapiens. However the same west says the human skeletons found in Sri Lanka are victims of war crimes.

Now we have found couple of these mass graves after the end of the war in Mannar and Matale. Probably the Mannar mass grave should be the burial ground of those killed in the battle of “Ramayana” between the Indian king Ram and the Sri Lankan King Ravana. I can say this with great responsibility, because the Tamils who used to live in this area don’t bury their deceased in the vicinity of their Thiruketheeswaram Kovil. This Kovil is said to be built around the period BC 600. Thus we can logically conclude that whoever is buried there must have been buried before BC 600.

Dear Dr. D J, this is where the country needs you. We need your wisdom. We need your eloquence in English, which the present diplomats in Sri Lanka’s foreign missions lack. We, the patriotic forces of the country are with you and will be with you forever. Never ever worry about what people say about you now, because the future generations will be saying this; Galileo Galeili the scientist and Dr.Dayan Jayatilleka the political scientist were humiliated by their critics, but history cherished them.

With heartfelt respect

V.
