Agrees To Fully Cooperate With GoSL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd \u2013 the Chinese company handling the constructions of the project has expressed their agreement to fully corporate with the government of Sri Lanka while announcing they have suspended the operations as per the instructions of the government.<\/p>\n<p>Issuing an official statement concerning the suspension of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Port+City+project&amp;x=8&amp;y=6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Port City projec<\/span><\/a>t work, CHEC has noted that they have received an official communique from the Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Aviation, that has informed the company of the Cabinet decision made to suspend the ongoing work of the project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Port-City.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-140012\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Port-City-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Port City\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Port-City-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Port-City.jpg 646w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The company has also noted that as instructed in the Ministry communique, they would also take immediate steps to submit valid permits and approval issues by the relevant government authorities with regard to the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be taking all necessary steps to provide these requested documents as instructed by the Ministry of Ports, Shopping and Aviation to abide by the notification received without prejudice to the legal rights of the company under the agreements entered into with the government of Sri Lanka on September 16, 2014,\u201d they have stated.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the company has said that they would fully cooperate with the GoSL and continue to adhere to the procedures and conditions stipulated in the said agreement including the commitments contained in the approved environmental impact assessment study.<\/p>\n<p>The company has also noted that it would continue to comply with the law and follow the necessary guidelines issued by the government for a mega development project of this nature.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":140012,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-140686","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Chinese Company Handling Port City Suspends Constructions;
