{"id":141634,"date":"2015-03-24T17:30:27","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T12:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=141634"},"modified":"2015-03-24T17:38:39","modified_gmt":"2015-03-24T12:08:39","slug":"mr-given-extensive-security-despite-his-complaints","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/mr-given-extensive-security-despite-his-complaints\/","title":{"rendered":"MR Given Extensive Security Despite His Complaints"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cabinet Spokesman Minister Rajitha Senaratne today said former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Mahinda+Rajapaksa&amp;x=9&amp;y=5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mahinda Rajapaksa<\/span><\/a> has been assigned way more than the number of security personnel and vehicles that have been stipulated to be assigned to an ex-President by the Supreme Court, although he constantly complains of the lack of security and vehicles facilities, and of how he is being ill-treated by the new government.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Mahinda-Car.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-132504\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Mahinda-Car.jpg\" alt=\"Mahinda Car\" width=\"300\" height=\"277\" \/><\/a>Minister Senarathne speaking at the Cabinet press briefing today said, \u201cThe SC has very clearly stated that an ex-President should only be given two official vehicles, a security vehicle, three drivers, fuel and an official residence. . .\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, MR\u2019s vehicle fleet currently includes: Two bullet-proof high security vehicles, one dummy vehicle, a Toyota land cruiser and a cab.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese have been accepted in writing signed by MR\u2019s secretary Lalith Weeratunga,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said MR\u2019s security detail includes a total of 213 military and police personnel and said three double cabs, two vans, eight motorbikes, one bus, a land cruiser and a cab has been assigned for the transportation of the security personnel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":132504,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-141634","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
