{"id":143017,"date":"2015-04-19T04:52:22","date_gmt":"2015-04-18T23:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=143017"},"modified":"2015-05-01T23:56:05","modified_gmt":"2015-05-01T18:26:05","slug":"helicopter-bills-passengers-should-pay-says-ravi-k-srisena-slfp-should-pay-says-wimal-w","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/helicopter-bills-passengers-should-pay-says-ravi-k-srisena-slfp-should-pay-says-wimal-w\/","title":{"rendered":"Helicopter Bills: &#8216;Passengers Should Pay&#8217; Says Ravi K &#8211; &#8216;Srisena &#038; SLFP Should Pay&#8217; Says Wimal W"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, his family members and his henchmen who misused the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) aircrafts during the Presidential election campaigning period will have to pay their bills.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Wimal-Ravi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-143019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Wimal-Ravi-300x213.jpg\" alt=\"Wimal Ravi\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Wimal-Ravi-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Wimal-Ravi.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>SLAF helicopters and fixed-wing aircrafts have been exploited at the whims and fancies of the Rajapaksas and some of the Ministers of the former regime, which has resulted in a loss of millions of rupees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will call upon the passengers who used the SLAF aircraft and helicopters to pay for the trips. We will also investigate how only selected persons were allowed this facility.\u201d\u00a0Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake told the <em>Sunday Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Last week former Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Wimal+Weerawansa&amp;x=9&amp;y=6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wimal Weerawansa<\/span><\/a>, who\u00a0used the SLAF aircrafts on seven flights told the TNL network that the fares for the SLAF flights should be paid by President Sirisena, the leader of the SLFP and General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa.
