An Ode to the Sri Lankan Patriot,
\nLanka’s Intellect of Academic Rarity,
\nA (keyboard) warrior like no other
\nFickle though their patriotism may be.<\/p>\n

Revel in the traditions of the Sri Lankan Patriot
\nDefending corruption, division and paranoia.
\nRespond to those breaking with these traditions
\nwith (in)appropriate amounts of hysteria.<\/p>\n

Honour the Sri Lankan Patriots,
\nElders holding the One Common Truth,
\nTheirs is the only narrative that matters
\nTo others, care not a hoot.<\/p>\n

Respect the Sri Lankan (and Tamil) Patriots
\nWhose allegiance may be bought for a fee
\nThey know what’s best for Sri Lankans
\nEven when they live overseas.<\/p>\n

Long live the Sri Lankan Patriot
\nMuch prosperity we hope to see
\nTo every Sri Lankan living on the island
\nPeacefully, Equally and Equitably as one community.<\/p>\n

And to the Illustrious Doctor
\nMay I offer a suggestion
\nOn how to respond to the Sri Lankan elections
\nWithout silence, skepticism or derision?<\/p>\n

Return to your TARDIS and visit the Sontarens
\nwhose smugness and pride is only exceeded by your own.
\nA ready audience you\u2019ll find to your views of Gramsci, Mao and Marx
\nBut for the sake of the universe, do not get cloned.<\/p>\n
