Wigneswaran<\/span><\/a> has welcomed the UN report on war crimes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_118102\" style=\"width: 340px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/C-V-Wigneswaran-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-118102\" class=\" wp-image-118102\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/C-V-Wigneswaran-.jpg\" alt=\"Chief Minister CV Wigneswaran\" width=\"330\" height=\"221\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/C-V-Wigneswaran-.jpg 636w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/C-V-Wigneswaran--300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 330px) 100vw, 330px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-118102\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chief Minister CV Wigneswaran<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Wigneswaran who throughout had called for an international mechanism of inquiry to investigate war crimes charges has said that he is happy the report called for a Special Court with international judges and prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>Wigneswaran, a former Judge has said that Sri Lanka does not have judges and prosecutors who can take up war crimes cases.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Wigneswaran told Colombo Telegraph that no Sri Lankan judge will ever find fault with the military.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile he has also welcomed the resolution passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly calling for an international inquiry into war crimes in Sri Lanka and urging the Indian Central government to move a strong resolution at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for such an inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We thank Selvi Jayalalithaa for the extreme concern she has shown over our situation. It augurs well for the future.
