{"id":153555,"date":"2015-11-18T15:45:06","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T10:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=153555"},"modified":"2016-05-10T03:59:53","modified_gmt":"2016-05-09T22:29:53","slug":"new-twist-to-ongoing-battle-between-rajitha-and-avant-garde-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/new-twist-to-ongoing-battle-between-rajitha-and-avant-garde-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"New Twist To Ongoing Battle Between Rajitha And Avant Garde Boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a new twist to the ongoing battle between Health Minister Rajith Senaratne and Avant Garde boss Nissanka Senadhipathi, another recorded telephone conversation surfaced today which claims that Senaratne refused to accept and in fact had returned Rs. 5 million which was given to him allegedly by Senadhipathi.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_138764\" style=\"width: 279px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Rajitha.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-138764\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-138764\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Rajitha-269x300.jpg\" alt=\"Rajitha\" width=\"269\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Rajitha-269x300.jpg 269w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Rajitha.jpg 428w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 269px) 100vw, 269px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-138764\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rajitha<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/rajithas-son-denies-daddys-rs-5-m-bribe-from-avante-garde-says-never-spied-on-harin-fernando\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lanka e news web site yesterday carried a story<\/span><\/a> with a recorded telephone conversation which the website says was between Senadhipathi and Senaratne\u2019s Secretary Dr. Sayuru Samarasundera.<\/p>\n<p>In the conversation Senadhipathi says Samarasundera had accepted Rs.5 million on behalf of Senaratne.<\/p>\n<p>In the new recorded telephone a person identified as Samarasundera tells Senadhipathi that Rajitha Senaratne had refused the latter\u2019s money and asks him to take it back.<\/p>\n<p>This conversation,has been posted as evidence to prove that Senaratne had not accepted money from the Avant Garde boss.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Senaratne is currently on an official visit overseas.<\/p>\n<p>When contacted by Colombo Telegraph Rajitha\u2019s son, Chathura Senaratne MP, denied claims that his father had accepted money from the Avant Garde boss.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile attempts to contact Dr.Samarasundera and Senadhipathi failed.
