Knowing very well that his family members have also participated in\u00a0Enrique’s \u2018Sex And Love<\/span><\/a>\u2019 show, President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday condemned the organisers of the concert which\u00a0was held in Colombo on the 20th of December.<\/p>\n

“The President knew that his family members were there” a source close to the Presidential Security Division told Colombo Telegraph.<\/p>\n

Acting like the head of Sri Lanka’s “Cultural Police”, addressing a public event in Ampara last morning the President said; the show is “indecent” and “uncivilised”<\/p>\n

“The musical show lasted only for an hour. Prices of its tickets ranged from Rs. 5000 to 50,000. they were served Beer, Arrack, Brandy and Gin. This is the power of liquor. This is how they are trying to protect our culture,\u00a0Some people may criticise me talking about these issues. But I am a Sinhala-Buddhist. It’s my duty to talk about these matters,” he said.<\/p>\n

The President also said the organisers of such indecent events should be punished for bringing artistes, who destroy Sri Lanka\u2019s proud culture. He said the organisers should be “whipped with toxic stingray tails”- a brutal medieval punishment.<\/p>\n

Enrique’s show in Colombo was organised by a company named, Live Events (PVT) Ltd, owned by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena<\/a> and radio personality Shaq.<\/p>\n

But his son-in-law\u00a0Wewelpanawa Gamage Thilina Suranjith<\/span><\/a>, the Public Relations Officer of the Defence Ministry has been photographed\u00a0with his friends and posted by Iraj Weeraratne on his Facebook page at 3.00AM in the morning on the 21st of December.<\/p>\n
