{"id":157876,"date":"2016-02-20T20:29:57","date_gmt":"2016-02-20T14:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=157876"},"modified":"2016-02-20T20:29:57","modified_gmt":"2016-02-20T14:59:57","slug":"four-more-monks-remanded-in-homagama-unrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/four-more-monks-remanded-in-homagama-unrest\/","title":{"rendered":"Four More Monks Remanded In Homagama Unrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four more monks who had surrendered to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Homagama&amp;x=10&amp;y=6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Homagama<\/span><\/a> police were remanded today by the Homagama Magistrate till March 1, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/video-this-is-only-the-beginning-gnanasaras-full-speech-prior-to-going-to-prison\/gnanasara-homagama-courts-26-jan-2015\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-156408\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-156408\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Gnanasara-Homagama-Courts-26-Jan-2015.jpg\" alt=\"Gnanasara Homagama Courts 26, Jan 2015\" width=\"450\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Gnanasara-Homagama-Courts-26-Jan-2015.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Gnanasara-Homagama-Courts-26-Jan-2015-300x206.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a>The monks, Biyagama Suseema thero, Pitigala Dhamma Vineetha thero, Mathuwagala Dhammasiri thero and Kirama Dhevinda thero were involved in a demonstration against the court ruling delivered on January 26th where the magistrate ordered Bodu Bala Sena\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Galagoda+Atte+Gnanasara&amp;x=10&amp;y=5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Galagoda Atte Gnanasara<\/span><\/a> be remanded for contempt of court and for also threatening the wife of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Sandya+Ekneligoda&amp;x=7&amp;y=6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sandya Ekneligoda<\/span><\/a>, wife of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Prageeth+Ekneligoda&amp;x=9&amp;y=4\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Prageeth Ekneligoda<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On January 27th, the Homagama Magistrate ordered police to arrest and produce all those involved in the protest near the court premises.
