Incidentally, the arrest came just hours after Pujith Jayasundara took over duties as the country\u2019s 34th Inspector General of Police. Thajudeen\u2019s killing has been shrouded in mystery, with the police initially ruling it as an accident, but subsequent evidence showing that he was in fact murdered.
