The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists has published the list of Sri Lankans named in the\u00a0Panama Papers<\/span><\/a> a short while ago.<\/p>\n

The Panama Papers the largest ever release of secret offshore companies and the people behind them.\u00a0The Panama Papers are an unprecedented leak of 11.5m files from the database of the world\u2019s fourth biggest offshore law firm, Mossack Fonseca. The records were obtained from an anonymous source by the German newspaper S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung, which shared them with the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).<\/p>\n

The database does not disclose the totality of the leaked records. It doesn\u2019t divulge raw documents or personal information en masse. It contains a great deal of information about company owners, proxies and intermediaries in secrecy jurisdictions, but it doesn\u2019t disclose bank accounts, email exchanges and financial transactions contained in the documents.\"Avant<\/a><\/p>\n

For instance if you click on the names associated with Avant Garde Pte Ltd, you will see that they have given the addresses in four different countries, most probably countries where the Avant Garde companies are operating.<\/p>\n
