{"id":162673,"date":"2016-05-19T23:55:46","date_gmt":"2016-05-19T18:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=162673"},"modified":"2016-05-20T00:29:43","modified_gmt":"2016-05-19T18:59:43","slug":"cid-grills-anura-senanayake-over-thajudeen-killing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/cid-grills-anura-senanayake-over-thajudeen-killing\/","title":{"rendered":"CID Grills Anura Senanayake Over Thajudeen Killing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CID on Thursday grilled former Western Province Senior DIG, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Anura+Senanayake&amp;x=10&amp;y=3\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Anura Senanayake<\/span><\/a> for over six hours, over the death of ruggerite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Wasim+Thajudeen&amp;x=14&amp;y=5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wasim Thajudeen<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_149018\" style=\"width: 135px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/thajudeen-not-the-first-not-the-last\/wasim-thajudeen-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-149018\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-149018\" class=\"size-full wp-image-149018\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/Wasim-Thajudeen1.jpg\" alt=\"Wasim Thajudeen\" width=\"125\" height=\"185\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-149018\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wasim Thajudeen<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The interrogation comes weeks after former Crimes OIC of the Narahenpita police, Sumith Champika Perera who was arrested by the CID for concealing information on the murder, shared vital information with the CID over the cover up of Thajudeen\u2019s murder, including the details of several others who had played a part in concealing the murder.<\/p>\n<p>DIG Traffic, Amarasiri Senarathne had also being questioned by the CID over the murder.<\/p>\n<p>Thajudeen, a Sri Lankan ruggerite and former Havelock SC captain, was killed in Colombo in May 2012, and the police initially ruled it as a death by accident, however subsequent to a second autopsy, it was revealed that he had being murdered.
