{"id":162989,"date":"2016-05-26T14:15:15","date_gmt":"2016-05-26T08:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=162989"},"modified":"2016-05-26T14:16:49","modified_gmt":"2016-05-26T08:46:49","slug":"thajudeen-murder-anura-senanayake-and-sumith-perera-further-remanded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/thajudeen-murder-anura-senanayake-and-sumith-perera-further-remanded\/","title":{"rendered":"Thajudeen Murder: Anura Senanayake And Sumith Perera Further Remanded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris today further remanded Former Western Province Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and Former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Champika Perera until June 9, 2016 over the murder of ruggerite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Wasim+Thajudeen&amp;x=5&amp;y=7\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wasim Thajudeen<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/thajudeen-murder-anura-senanayake-and-sumith-perera-further-remanded\/anura-senanayake-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-162987\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-162987\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Anura Senanayake\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Senanayake was arrested by the CID on May 23, for concealing information pertaining to the murder. He was questioned for several days before he was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Perera who was also arrested by the CID in April for concealing evidence with regard to the murder of Thajudeen had reportedly revealed the names of the \u2018higher authorities\u2019 from where he received the order to cover up Thajudeen\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n<p>Thajudeen, a Sri Lankan ruggerite and former Havelock SC captain, was killed in Colombo in May 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":162987,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-162989","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
